NT555 G2. Does your high-powered Mustang ever feel loose or unstable during rapid acceleration or when taking a corner at speed? If so, it may not be your suspension, like you think, it could be your tires. Poor tire traction can greatly affect the handling performance of your Mustang. If you find yourself in this scenario you should invest in a set of Nitto's NT555 G2 Ultra High Performance Summer Tires. NT555 G2 Tires were engineered especially for spirited drivers that demand excellent traction in both wet and dry driving conditions.

Directional Tread Pattern. The Nitto NT555 G2 features multiple tread innovations that make it a best-in-class performance tire. Twin center ribs provide better dry traction and straight-line stability. Large tapered blocks increase grip and cornering stability, and circumferential grooves aid in water evacuation and wet handling.

High-Silica Compound. Nitto NT555 G2 Tires are made using a proprietary high-silica compound. Nitto uses a special bonding agent during their manufacturing process to increase the interaction between the base compound elements to further reinforce their chemical bonds. This specialized bonding agent helps create a tire with a higher compound stiffness which results in better cornering performance in both wet and dry conditions.

Application. The NITTO NT555 G2 Ultra High Performance Tire is designed for all 1979-2020 Ford Mustangs.

NOTE: This is a high-performance tire intended for use during summer months or warm temperatures only. Use during cold weather will greatly reduce performance, traction and handling, and greatly increase stopping distance. If using this tire in a drag or track environment during cold weather, we strongly recommend performing a pre-run burnout to nominalize the tread compound's temperature.

Are these super sticky like a drag radial or comparable to the P zeros that came on my 2014 mustang? Thanks

        • The NITTO NT555 G2 Ultra High Performance Tire is a high performance summer tire, similar to a Pirelli P Zero tire, though offering more traction, and a world above the Pirelli P Zero Nero all season tire. These will not have the ultra soft, fast wearing compound of a drag radial.

Will a 275/40 fit on my stock mach 1 wheels? I beleave they are 17x8, I only need the for the back, thanks.

        • A 275/40r17 will not fit on a 17x8 wheel. You will need between a 9" and 11" wide wheel.

I would like a tire with a more beefy look. I currently have the Pzero 255/40/19 on my 2015 eco boost PP. I am curious as to what size would fit my wheel and give a nice and beefy look.

My 2006 Mustang GT came from the factory with 255/45R18 front and 285/40R18 rear tires. I have since purchased AMR staggered 18X9/10 inch wheels. I've had 305/40R18 NITTO NT555R Drag Radials on the rear with no fitment issues on another set of AMR 18X10 inch wheels.. However, since these are now worn, I would like to replace them with NT555 G2 tires since they will last longer. Unfortunately, the NT555 G2 tires don't come in 305/40R18. Will 295/40R18 NITTO NT555 G2 tires work on the rear of my car. I need as much rubber as possible on the rear since I've upgraded to a Kenne Bell blower back in 2006. 1 answer

            Great Everyday Tire

No problems hooking on a tuned 3V N/A. Living in FL, I've been able to drive these a lot in rainy conditions, they have performed well so far; with careful driving, they take puddles pretty good. Another plus side is the smooth ride. Only negative thing so far I've noticed is, highway cruising, they are bit nosier than other tires I've had. Although this is a non issue for me personally - I have a straight piped Mustang GT after all... Running staggered 255/305

Second time buying these and I’m still loving them, last ones held up through 6 burnouts, about 20 canyon runs and daily driving for about 8 months before I had to get some new ones.

            Best price

Even with the mount and balance cost the price was better than Tires Plus, Tire Kingdom, Firestone, and my local garage. It only took 3 days to get the tire. I saved over $60.

            Great Street Race tire

Hooks on the street super well after a staging burnout. i run mine at 25-28psi for launches and 30psi for handling. has very stiff sidewalls and lateral grip is well above any other street tire. Hydroplanes at 120 once tires are worn to 6/32 or lower

            Great Tires

The NT555s have been a great product. I switched over to Nitto after having two Goodyear Eagle GTs blow out on the highway. They have been very easy to break loose in any kind of wet environment and should be something to take note of if you live in a rainy area. All other aspects of the tire have been great.

            Don’t run anything else!

I ran the previous generation Nitto 555s on my 97 Cobra in Germany. Regularly driven over 150mph and up to 171mph according to my GPS. Flawless performance on the Autobahn and the occasional Nürburgring run. You lol. Ot Ben disappointed with these tires and they are the only high performance tire I run.

            Excellent Tires

Was stuck between these and the firestone Indy 500s and I’m glad I went the Nitto route! They’re super sticky, much better than the previous Sumitomos I had on. They hook hard and they also bulge out more than my Toyo 245s I have in the front which makes them look nice.

            NITTO NT555

I read a good amount of reviews and talked to people that are currently running these tires before purchasing them. I received good feedback on them, so I made the purchase. I only have about 150 miles on them so far. They don’t hook up on the steet as well as I would have expected, but I have been told by several people that they will hook up better after getting some more miles on them. I’m hoping so, as I almost went with the Mickey Thompson’s...

            Handles just fine!

Keeping in mind these are not expensive, you get reasonable performance at a great price. I’m on 255/45-18 all around. The handling is good on dry and wet. Not the best performance but respectable. They do get a little noisy compared with pricier tires. If you can’t afford better, these tires will do the job just fine.
