NT555 G2. Does your high-powered Mustang ever feel loose or unstable during rapid acceleration or when taking a corner at speed? If so, it may not be your suspension, like you think, it could be your tires. Poor tire traction can greatly affect the handling performance of your Mustang. If you find yourself in this scenario you should invest in a set of Nitto's NT555 G2 Ultra High Performance Summer Tires. NT555 G2 Tires were engineered especially for spirited drivers that demand excellent traction in both wet and dry driving conditions.

Directional Tread Pattern. The Nitto NT555 G2 features multiple tread innovations that make it a best-in-class performance tire. Twin center ribs provide better dry traction and straight-line stability. Large tapered blocks increase grip and cornering stability, and circumferential grooves aid in water evacuation and wet handling.

High-Silica Compound. Nitto NT555 G2 Tires are made using a proprietary high-silica compound. Nitto uses a special bonding agent during their manufacturing process to increase the interaction between the base compound elements to further reinforce their chemical bonds. This specialized bonding agent helps create a tire with a higher compound stiffness which results in better cornering performance in both wet and dry conditions.

Application. The NITTO NT555 G2 Ultra High Performance Tire is designed for all 1979-2019 Ford Mustangs.

NOTE: This is a high-performance tire intended for use during summer months or warm temperatures only. Use during cold weather will greatly reduce performance, traction and handling, and greatly increase stopping distance. If using this tire in a drag or track environment during cold weather, we strongly recommend performing a pre-run burnout to nominalize the tread compound's temperature.

Will a 275/40 fit on my stock mach 1 wheels? I beleave they are 17x8, I only need the for the back, thanks.

    • A 275/40r17 will not fit on a 17x8 wheel. You will need between a 9" and 11" wide wheel.

I need a tire that has the lowest road noise.

    • The NITTO NT555 G2 Ultra High Performance Tire and the Sumitomo High Performance HTR Z III Tire will offer the lowest road noise of the tires we carry.

Are these super sticky like a drag radial or comparable to the P zeros that came on my 2014 mustang? Thanks

    • The NITTO NT555 G2 Ultra High Performance Tire is a high performance summer tire, similar to a Pirelli P Zero tire, though offering more traction, and a world above the Pirelli P Zero Nero all season tire. These will not have the ultra soft, fast wearing compound of a drag radial.

Currently have the stock setup 235/50R/I8. Will 255/45R/18 in the front and 275/40R/18 in the rear fit? Thanks!

    • Depending on the size wheel you have on your Mustang, you will be able to run the bigger tire size. Unfortunately, since we do not know yourexact wheel size, we are not able to confirm if it will fit. I would recommend calling or chatting in so we can discuss this, that way we can get you the correct information for your set up.

I would like a tire with a more beefy look. I currently have the Pzero 255/40/19 on my 2015 eco boost PP. I am curious as to what size would fit my wheel and give a nice and beefy look.

I have a 2009 GT500, lowered 1.5 with Steeda springs. On black Friday I ordered chrome SuperSnake 20x9 and 20x10 for the rear. Will 295-35-20 fit or should I consider 285-35-20? Will 305-35-20 fit? I want to go as big as I can but don't want any issues. Thank you in advance. 1 answer
I have a 2000 GT with a staggered set of AM Deep Dish Bullit wheels 18x9 and 18x10. Currently I have the Sumitomo HTR Z II mounted on the rims. 275/35R18 on the front and 285/35R18 in the rear. My problem is the rear tires are to small. There isn’t enough side wall so they look stretched. When you stand back and look at the car the rear wheels look smaller. What would you guys recommend size and brand wise to fix that issue? I don’t want anything different in the front when it comes to size. I can’t go wider then the current tires. However, in the rear I’d like to go a little wider and a bit larger side wall to cure the stretched look. Any thoughts? Thanks 0 answer
My 2006 Mustang GT came from the factory with 255/45R18 front and 285/40R18 rear tires. I have since purchased AMR staggered 18X9/10 inch wheels. I've had 305/40R18 NITTO NT555R Drag Radials on the rear with no fitment issues on another set of AMR 18X10 inch wheels.. However, since these are now worn, I would like to replace them with NT555 G2 tires since they will last longer. Unfortunately, the NT555 G2 tires don't come in 305/40R18. Will 295/40R18 NITTO NT555 G2 tires work on the rear of my car. I need as much rubber as possible on the rear since I've upgraded to a Kenne Bell blower back in 2006. 1 answer

These tires work great for normal daily drive. I would not recommend them for drag races.

AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN P ZERO

Bought these tires 275/40R19 and they hook up pretty well, as good or even better than the P Zeros. Road noise is maybe a little more noticeable but not much from the P Zero . OVERALL an amazing tire, in dry and wet. Without a doubt will buy these again.

I have the stock 02 GT rims and put the stock 245/45/r17 on all 4 (no tire bulge). These tires are great in the rain, which is exactly what I wanted to improve (daily driver).

Review from NITTO NT555 G2 Ultra High Performance Tire - 275/35R20 (05-19 All)

      -Good- tire

It's a good tire, don't get me wrong. But I don't think its necessarily the greatest one on the market. Clearly, I mean look at the price. Anyway, like other reviews suggest as will mine, this is not a good cold tire. You need some heat in these puppies before they really start to grip. Otherwise their great! They also tackle rain and hydroplaning with ease. I bought these 275's to go in the front of my 2006 Mustang GT, and with a lowered suspension (Ford performance lowering springs), these things rub just a little little tiny bit on the inner fender. Will have to roll your fenders on the inside just a bit. Hope this helped!

Bought these for my 2018 SRT Charger

These tires are awesome! Had moderate to heavy rain at times here in my city the past few weeks and not once did I feel insecure driving. These tires also grip way better than expected for them not being slicks. Highly recommend. Had bought the regular NT555’s for my mustang before I got this SRT and in my opinion, the G2’s hold up better than those. (Had a 2014 Mustang 5.0 before)

      Good tire! Still building trust..

These things look and feel aggressive. However, like other reviews, they DO NOT like the cold. Yes they are summer tires so you're probably like "duhh", but just fyi. I spun out on an on-ramp in 3rd gear going 30 mph because they weren't warm yet. Just got them so don't really know what 'warm' feels like, still feeling out their limits. But I think as soon as summer hits, these are gonna be real fun for backroads!

      Nitto NT555s

So far I have discovered these tires grip considerably better than my previous set of the same width (285). My old set I couldn't even roll on the throttle in second with out breaking the tires loose. The Nitto's however seem to hold the road pretty good. Cant drop the hammer in first with no wheel spin but it will catch second well and take off! Huge difference over the NanKang (Chinese brand lol) tires that came on the car when I baught it. The car is an 08 GT500 CandL cold air intake, 2.6in pulley and tune. 600 ish hp at the crank.

Could be better could be worse

I got 305/20" for the rears in my Roush charged '16 GT. The wet grip is surprisingly great, drive daily without any problems and full confidence (snow is a no go though), but not enough dry grip. I spin all the way through first, second, and a bit into third. And don't even think about trying to launch. With such little sidewall it's quite a rough ride too. The tire does look mean though.
