    Ask a Question

How many O2 sensors? How many front and rear O2 sensors would I need for a 98 V6 Mustang? Please help!

    • Eduardo, There are a total of 4 oxygen sensors for your model. There are 2 upstream of the catalytic converters and 2 downstream of the catalytic converters. If you don't have catalytic converters installed (i.e. you installed a off-road H-pipe or X-pipe), you will need to purchase the MIL eliminators to "trick" the computer or your check engine light will come on.

I have a 2007 V6 and I want to replace all O2 sensors. How many do I need?? front and back? and will this one fit only rear or both?

    • This NTK Performance Oxygen Sensor will replace your downstream (rear) O2 sensors, of which you will have 2. The NTK Performance Oxygen Sensor linked below will replace your upstream (front) O2 sensors, of which you will also have 2.

I'm using foxbody style long tube headers on my 94 gt can i use these o2 sensors and would I need extension harness

    • The NTK Performance Oxygen Sensor are designed for fitment on 94-95 V8 Mustangs. We have not tested these on a fox header, or on a fox header in an SN95 to confirm fitment, however if they properly thread in and do not have clearance issues, you will require O2 sensor extensions due to the revised O2 sensor location.

    • This NTK Performance Oxygen Sensor will work as a downstream (rear) o2 sensor for your 1998 Mustang GT.

    • The NTK Performance Oxygen Sensor - Front (94-95 5.0L) - Rear (95-09 V6; 94-04 4.6L) will fit the 2005 V6 mustang how it will only fit for the rear sensors. You will need NTK Performance Oxygen Sensor - Front (99-09 V6; 99-04 4.6L) item number 64044 for the front.

      Good upgrade

Good upgrade if one of your sensors has gone out or if you haven't changed your old ones Ina while. I've also noticed a slight difference in mpg.

Went overboard in a good way

Was using Mil eliminators for a while after installing Headers, Mid Pipe (flow thru cats) and exhaust to turn off the service engine light. Just replace all O2 sensors. I'm good to go. A/M only sells whats right for your stang

Had several codes all due to faulty O2 sensors, replaced all 4, cleared all codes, running much smoother from idle to road speeds, haven't got to check mileage yet, keeping my fingers crossed! Fast shipping, great price, thanks AM!

      Worth it.

Best price on these anywhere. Really helped the car smooth out. I replaced my catalytic converters at the same time I installed these. The car gained some power from it, and I got no trouble codes. Then, I attached the X4 programmer....wowzer....but that is another review.

      Good sensors!

Always liked NTK sensors. The wiring feels sturdy, well machined threads that always have an anti-seize on them, strong connectors that latch securely.

Solved my lack of power issue

I'm really impressed with these O2 sensors. My car had the original ones on it still from 1995 (175,000 mi). The car had been lacking power for quite sometime. I installed these NTK O2 sensors and it brought my car back to life. I'm not joking, you will notice a serious improvement in performance with these. O2 sensors are always overlooked and forgotten about but they play an important role in your engines life. AM's price was great too, compared to that other site that sells them for $60each. Also, NTK was the brand that Ford used in this car originally. Just buy them, you will thank me later. You will be impressed. Easy install and it doesn't break the bank to purchase.

Nice upgrade for 22 yr old car

The new parts appear identical to the originals and the swap out went fairly well even though they are located in a tight space under the car. Working from below with car on ramps the project took about two hours using specialized tools I borrowed from a local parts store. Don't try this without the specialized tools for O2 sensors. Glad that I did this even it didn't fix my erratic idle problem.
