      Review & Installation Video

If you're looking to freshen up the front calipers on your 2005 to 2014 non-Brembo GT or V6, along with adding a small touch of color behind your favorite set of wheels, well then you might want to consider checking out these affordable replacements from Power Stop. Now, price point or the re-manufactured two-piston, two-piece cast iron design will be right around $100 mark, while the install itself will involve, of course, removal of the stockers and bleeding the brakes. So, therefore, we are going to knock this one up to a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and maybe a couple of hours to complete from start to finish. So, again, the Power Stop kit that we have here might be a great option for those S197 owners who are possibly dealing with a faulty or maybe even seized up caliper and you just want to clean up the appearance a little bit, but don't want to sink hundreds or even thousands of dollars into a set of big brakes like you would with a Brembo kit, Wilwood, or any other aftermarket option. Now, granted a lot of those aftermarket big brake kits are certainly more than just an appearance upgrade as you are getting superior hardware with them, this includes bigger calipers, more pistons, more aggressive pad compound in a larger rotor. Whereas a Power Stop kit, here on the other hand, is simply going to offer a set of freshened up factory calipers, but with that bright red powder coat. So, what I'm trying to say here guys is don't expect any massive upgrades in stopping power from the calipers alone. Now, of course, you could always pair these calipers up with a matching Power Stop kit such as a Z23 or Z36 pad and rotor combination if you are looking to make a slight increase to your stopping power. Now, these Power Stop calipers do feature that factory two-piece re-manufactured cast iron design that have been gone through freshened up using high quality parts, such as new seals, boots, lubricants, and all that good stuff before being finished off in that eye catching bright red powder coat, which, by the way, will be far more durable compared to a traditional paint. Now, each caliper is pressure tested before being sent out and Power Stop claims that these will either meet or exceed the performance of your factory calipers, and they're so confident in them that they include a three-year 36,000 miles warranty with each set.But switching gears, this is just going to be just a general overview guys and not a detailed walkthrough, but as far as the installation is concerned, removal of the factory front calipers is the biggie first before moving on with the actual installation of the Power Stop kit. This will also require you to bleed the brakes entirely, which, altogether, is we're going to knock this install up to, I would say, a solid two out of three wrenches on a difficulty meter and a couple of hours to complete from start to finish. So, wrapping things up here. If you're looking to replace a set of worn-out or damaged stock calipers, or you just like the visual improvement of the bright red powder coat on your non-Brembo '05 to '14, then be sure to check out the Power Stop options right here at

        Look great

They have the Ford logo clearly visible, so I don't think they have any more stopping power than stock, but they look great

        Beautiful finish

Fit perfectly with the rotors and pads I bought. Absolutely flawless red powder coat looks great. Better stopping power than stock but that may be due to the ceramic pads and new rotors.

Installed the power stop front brake calipers over the weekend. The car has a much better feel at breaking over the OEM front calipers.

        GT 500 wheels

I recently purchased a set of wheels and had trouble at first with the install. Ended up having to buff the center pieces to get the wheels to mount flush on the hubs. I called tech services and they did an awesome job helping me out. These wheels really changed the look of my stang! Thanks American Muscle for an awesome product!!

I run 16" rim wheels for snow tires on 2008 V6 ponypackage as recommended by tire rack. Are these an exact dimensional replacement to the OEM v6 calipers? Tire rack seems to suggest the GT and V6 use different sizes.

      • These Power Stop Performance Front Brake Calipers meet the same dimensions and specifications as the original OEM equipped calipers. These calipers will work on all V6 Mustangs and standard package GT Mustangs.

Hello. 2 questions: 1. I have the Power Stop Z26 rotor and pad kit, and Russell steel brake lines. Assuming these Power Stop front, and rear (planning to buy both), will work with them? 2. Are they as durable as the OEM calipers? I have the stock OEM on my 2008 GT since 2008 and they are still going strong. I am just looking for something with more stopping power but at a lower price than big brakes.

      • These calipers will be compatible with your setup. These reuse OEM caliper housings and will be every bit as durable as OEM.

The Power Stop brake pads currently on my 2006 GT only have 200-300 miles on them. Can they be re-used with these calipers?

I was wondering if I can get these in a BLACK powder coat? Thanks for your time.

      • I apologize, we only offer these in red at the time being.

I have a 2009 Mustang V6 with the "Ford Performance Front Disc Brake Upgrade Kit V6 12.4" Rotors 2005-2010" on it. This is because I'm running 18x8.5 Bullitt wheels on it. Will these calipers mount to the bracket from that kit? 0 answer
Hi Guys i have a 2005 V6 s197 my car has 20" rims but my 293mm Front rotors look lost in them so i want to fit 316mm rotors which as you know will hit the hub but will then have a issue with the Caliper brackets for my pads . So will fitting these Calipers mean i could then go ahead and fit the bigger 316mm Rotors . But would i then need V8 pads i hope this makes sence . Cheers Pete 1 answer
Hi, you say these will fit 05-14 both GT and V6. But as I know GT front brakes are a bit bigger in compare to V6 in 05-09 models and GT brake calipers with GT rotors will not fit V6 if it is equipped with 16" wheels. So are these for 05-14 GT and 11-14 V6 plus 05-09 V6 with 17" wheels? 1 answer
Will the brake pads that come with the power stop z23 evolution sport brake rotor and brake kit work with these calipers 1 answer
I purchased these calipers, and the main piston seems to be extended out. I noticed that it can rotate and threads into the unit. My question is do I turn this all the way in, because you can't put the caliper over the rotor due to the pads being to close. 1 answer
The calipers I received each have nut next to the rubber boot where the bolt mounts the caliper to the bracket. Upon tightening the mounting bolts the nut just turns with it. My question is, do I use a wrench to hold the nut in place while tightening down the mounting bolts or only tighten the bolt down till the nut begins to turn? The old stock calipers did not have nut, just flattened on two sides. 1 answer
