The Power Stop Z23 pad and rotor kit here will be an affordable upgrade for all 2005 to 2014 V6 owners who are looking to replace the worn out factory components and increase stopping power, all while improving the look behind your favorite set of wheels at the same time. Now, this very popular kit will include a new set of slotted and drilled rotors, along with a brand new set of the Z23 ceramic pads. All for right around that $140 price point. Now, the install itself, according to the site is good enough for a two out of three wrenches on a difficulty meter, and about I'd say a couple of hours to complete from start to finish using some pretty basic hand tools. So, the Z23 kit that we have here is not to be confused with the Z36 kit which can also be found here on the site for roughly the same price, maybe a few bucks more for the Z36. And what is the big difference between the two? Well, I should point out that the only real difference between those two kits lies within the pad material itself. See, the Z23 here is going to utilize a slightly less aggressive ceramic pad or material along with a rubberized shim that will combine for a noiseless and relatively dust-free operation. The Z26 pad, on the other hand, is gonna use a more aggressive compound along with a stainless steel shim that might produce a little bit more noise and dust compared to the Z23s that we have here.So, now that you know the difference between the popular kits here on the site, let's talk about the kit itself and the components and the foundation will no doubt be the cross drilled and slotted G3000 cast iron rotors which have been finished off in a silver zinc coating to resist any corrosion on the non-friction areas. Now, that slotted and drilled design is done so to help with cooling and Power Stop claims that surface temps are dropped by over 100 degrees here, which in turn will help reduce fade especially when you are working those brakes especially hard on those V6 S197s. The second best part of the equation will be the Z23 pads which we've already covered lightly. But, again, expect that low dust, ceramic compound along with the rubberized shims on the back to help keep noise to an absolute minimum. Now, the kit does also include all of the hardware and lubricant needed to get everything installed. And is also backed by Power Stops three year, 36,000 mile limited warranty. Now as far as your installation is concerned, well pads and rotors I would say are one of the basics of automotive wrenching. But, since there is some elbow grease involved, the site did kick this one up to a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and a couple of hours to complete from start to finish. Again, using some pretty basic hand tools.
