    Hey everyone, I'm Justin with This is my breakdown of the Power Stop cross drilled and slotted rotor and pad kit available for all 1994 to 2014 Mustangs. Power Stop is a company that specializes in producing quality braking components for a wide variety of applications, all with the goal of increasing your stopping power for a very affordable price. We have had some recent experience with Power Stop's kit on our 2014 GT project car named Project Coyote, and if you guys want, you can click on that link below. This particular Power Stop kit, as I mentioned earlier, is available for just about every generation Mustang there is, including the newer Brembo cars, and really is a great bang for your buck mod. With this kit, you do get both the front and rear cross drilled and slotted rotors in addition to the brand new ceramic pads for the same price other companies are charging just for the front two rotors alone. Now that you know what's included with the kit, let's break down the individual components a little further. As I mentioned earlier, you do get the front and rear rotors, both of which have been cross drilled and slotted. If you're not aware of the benefits of running a cross drilled and slotted rotor, here's the deal. They will actually prevent a little excess heat from building up, and it also reduces some brake fade after a few repetitive hard stops. The rotors have also been silver zinc coated to help prevent any possible rust or corrosion from building up and to ensure that the rotors themselves remain looking good for years to come. Speaking of looking good, it's hard to deny the fact that a set of cross drilled and slotted rotors just look amazing on any car and add a much more aggressive look to the car itself. Moving on to the pads, the Power Stop kit does include the Evolution carbon ceramic brake pad which will help you in a couple of different ways. For starters, that carbon ceramic compound will allow for higher brake temperatures but with less brake fade, increasing your overall stopping power. In addition, these pads will be a little bit more quiet, and they will also produce less brake dust, helping to keep your wheels a lot cleaner. Installing a new set of brakes and rotors on any Mustang is actually a pretty straightforward job that just about any owner should feel confident in tackling using some basic hand tools and a lift or jack. You have to keep in mind, guys, you are tackling all four corners here, so expect to spend about three hours at least, or a nice Saturday or Sunday afternoon, in the garage to get everything knocked out. You definitely want to follow the manufacturer's recommended vetting process with the new set of pads and rotors to get the optimal performance and wear out of your setup.     do you offer a painted rotor , I don't want to see any rust on them after some time goes by ? thank you , Mark Kriewall


    • We would not offer a painted rotor no. However any rotor will start to have surface rust if left out and not used for a while. Once you drive the car the surface rust will go away.

    brake dust Do these ceramic pads leave alot of brake dust? Or none at all?


    • It leaves alot less than stock pads, if you dont track them the dust build up will be virtually non existent.

    Upgrade to Track Packs brakes? Hi I have a 2010 GT with the Track Pack which includes the upgraded brakes off of the Bullitt mustang. Will these rotors be an upgrade from my rotors? I don't want to buy them if not...thanks!


    • these rotors and brakes worked well on my GT,less brake dust and better stopping power, but they are a direct replacement for the stock brakes, If you have upgraded brakes and are happy with them why change? If you decide to try the power stop kit at least it won't cost a lot, and the slotted and drilled rotors look good, best of luck in your decision!

      Power stop rotors and pads

      The rotors are a good product although they are made in China, not sure of the quality control with them. We will see over time. The front pads fit good but the friction clips came off trying to install the pads. The stock pads I had on the vehicle still had the clips after 120,000 miles. The stock clips went around the post and had a lip, the new pads post had no lip to hold the clips in place. Rears are much better. Will have to see if they become noisy over time. It's mixed emotions on the product so far, hopefully they hold up, rotors do look good.

      nice upgrade, affordable price

      My 2007 GT/CS just turned 38,000 miles,a brake change was due,ordered powerstop brakes and slotted and drilled rotors,also good time to paint calipers. Very happy with the end results,the rotors looked greated and black painted calipers really stand out,best of all is the stopping power,much better than stock!!!!!! When doing rear pistons,make sure you use left turning piston retractor, works great!! Now I have 4 stock rotors and pads, ( not even 1/3 worn out), but worth the swap! Thanks again American Muscle for another great product and price!!!!

      You get what you pay for.

      I bought this kit cause I'm on a budget for the time being but still wanted to add some stopping power to my '05 GT. But if your mustang is highly modified, which is a definite possibility if you're on American Muscle, its probably not going to cut it. Especially if you have done little to nothing to lighten the car, which i haven't. If you like to drive "enthusiastically" I recommend actually investing in a big brake kit. But this kit is excellent for a stock car, and is pretty awesome for what you pay for it. Installation took a couple of hours only because the tool i had for the rear was the wrong size and I had to improvise, but aside from that it was as simple as you would expect. i would recommend some different pads than the ones that are provided, they just don't seem to work as well as they should. All in all, its cheap and easy, and better than the originals.

      Replaced Factory Rotors and Pads on 2007 427r - Great Choice!

      I bought this 4-wheel kit to replace the stock setup on my 2007 Roush 427r. (Basically a GT) I have 40k on the brakes and the rears had worn faster than the fronts. They came to me in two boxes on 2 separate days, but both were within 5 days of the order. I also purchased red caliper paint at the same time, which is what added to the installation time. If you've ever done brakes before, these are a just as easy, however you need to have a caliper compressor for the read caliper piston that also turns the piston at the same time. Overall a great product!! Stopping power seems to be 2-3 times better than my stock setup, and they look as good as they perform. The ONLY regret I have about my purchase is that the NEXT DAY after they were delivered, AmericanMuscle gave away free t-shirts for all purchases which this would have qualified. 10/10 stars all around.

      Power Stopping brakes and rotors

      Looks very nice with painted calipers. Better stopping power and distance. It gets a little hotter than my stock rotors. Good prices and qualities looking rotors as you wear it out a little bit after your brakes in km as stated in the procedures you have to followed. Otherwise, I have no complaints so far.

      Outstanding braking over stock

      This brake kit is a noticeable update for those that have no or some mods installed, truly feel the difference. Bigger brakes sure bite a lot more but for the price, they're worth every penny. The difference in grip on repeat braking is obvious at all times when you need to stop/slow down regardless of how hard you brake. The only issue I have is the weight addition when compared to the stock rotors. They sure look great installed!

      The rotors seem to be pretty good but the pads are cheap. The friction clips broke on 3 of 4 front pads so I had to reuse the oem pads for now. The rear pads went on pretty easy.

      Great for the Street

      I actually purchased this before carried the kit. I am very happy to see they carry this kit now. These are great for those daily drivers that want an inexpensive upgrade to their mustang. Ive had them for about 20k miles now with no complaints. But I must stress to people that these are not meant for extreme track use. They are an upgrade to the OEM brakes. They work very well on the highway and street when needed. And have gotten me out of some sketchy situations when I needed to brake very quickly.

      Super quiet and good bite!

      I purchased these for my 07 GT with stock brakes. I developed a slight squeal lately so figured I'd step up to a better looking rotor. These came in two boxes, one for the front axel and one for the rear. The rotors are directional and were well marked as to which wheel they go on, i.e. "Front Drivers Side" The fronts went on really easy but the rears were tough. My problems were with the caliper piston not wanting to twist in and compress. This issue had nothing to do with this product but beware if you do it yourself it is not easy. Once the caliper was ready everything went together well and they look great on the car. It's very important to do the recommended "bedding" break in which I did with no issues. These brakes are SUPER quiet and stopped very well. I didn't drive much after the break in process due to impending rain but they performed well during the 15 or so hard stops. Definitely recommend so far. You have to love American Muscle.

      So Far So Good

      I swapped these rotors and brake pads out myself, took me about 5 hours to get them completely installed (I don't have a lift, just a jack). Ensure you have a rear caliper piston tool to push the piston back into the caliper. I borrowed one from Autozone. Since the car is an '05, many of the bolts required me to break them free with a ratchet and a rubber mallet. Spinning the rear caliper pistons back into the caliper was not an easy task either. When it was finally all complete, I have been happy with the product. The rotors look great and the car slows down and stops a little better than the original. For me, I haven't noticed a monumental difference between the OEM and these. But I have only had them on for two days.

      Looks and feels great

      The bite is a bit better and more sturdy than stock. I love how it looks. When at higher speeds (130 ), the stopping power is noticeable. When you hit the brakes with stock at high speed, you don't really reduce speed that well and the car shakes a little. With these brakes, at the same speed, you go from 130 to 70 or 80 in a couple seconds and there is no noticable shaking.

      great product - great price

      I purchased the kit based on the price. I wanted a good looking big brake kit with slotted rotors but didn't want to pay the crazy price of the expensive big brake kits. after purchasing I read a number of complaints from others that had problems with the pad clips being loose. my mechanic installed and said they were a great product and didn't have any installation problems. for the price I would highly recommend this product. stopping power is better than stock and they look great.

      They're Nice, For Awhile...

      Got these a year ago, I DD my car but downshift a lot and have a tendency to only use my brakes when I absolutely have to. The initial grip of these things were great, had better heat dispersion, and after they broke in were quiet. Now, the braking power is still good but the rotors are getting hot spots and one of the pads is making an insanely annoying speaking sound and they all have plenty of meat left on them. I'm going to turn the rotors and put some Hawks on and see what that does but my best recommendation would be to save the extra bit of money and buy a full big brake kit with better lines and better made pads. Even if you're just wanting to replace bad OEMs, it's not really worth it in the long run in my opinion.

      They worked well... For a while.

      After I had them put on, they felt great. Better stopping power than stock, and far less fade. But after getting them in November they now feel really warped. Followed break in instructions exactly. I guess you do get what you pay for. I'll just have to pay a little more for the next set.
