Hey everyone, I'm Justin with americanmuscle.com. This is my breakdown of the Power Stop cross drilled and slotted rotor and pad kit available for all 1994 to 2014 Mustangs. Power Stop is a company that specializes in producing quality braking components for a wide variety of applications, all with the goal of increasing your stopping power for a very affordable price. We have had some recent experience with Power Stop's kit on our 2014 GT project car named Project Coyote, and if you guys want, you can click on that link below. You can check out all of our project car builds and also subscribe to our YouTube channel while you're there to check out more in depth detailed product overviews. This particular Power Stop kit, as I mentioned earlier, is available for just about every generation Mustang there is, including the newer Brembo cars, and really is a great bang for your buck mod. With this kit, you do get both the front and rear cross drilled and slotted rotors in addition to the brand new ceramic pads for the same price other companies are charging just for the front two rotors alone. Now that you know what's included with the kit, let's break down the individual components a little further. As I mentioned earlier, you do get the front and rear rotors, both of which have been cross drilled and slotted. If you're not aware of the benefits of running a cross drilled and slotted rotor, here's the deal. They will actually prevent a little excess heat from building up, and it also reduces some brake fade after a few repetitive hard stops. The rotors have also been silver zinc coated to help prevent any possible rust or corrosion from building up and to ensure that the rotors themselves remain looking good for years to come. Speaking of looking good, it's hard to deny the fact that a set of cross drilled and slotted rotors just look amazing on any car and add a much more aggressive look to the car itself. In fact, don't take my word for it. You can always click on the link below to check out the customer submitted images and reviews of these rotors on our very own customer pages. That way, you get a good look at what these rotors might look like on your very own Mustang. Again, click on the link below to check out the products page, if you're not there already. Moving on to the pads, the Power Stop kit does include the Evolution carbon ceramic brake pad which will help you in a couple of different ways. For starters, that carbon ceramic compound will allow for higher brake temperatures but with less brake fade, increasing your overall stopping power. In addition, these pads will be a little bit more quiet, and they will also produce less brake dust, helping to keep your wheels a lot cleaner. Installing a new set of brakes and rotors on any Mustang is actually a pretty straightforward job that just about any owner should feel confident in tackling using some basic hand tools and a lift or jack. You have to keep in mind, guys, you are tackling all four corners here, so expect to spend about three hours at least, or a nice Saturday or Sunday afternoon, in the garage to get everything knocked out. You definitely want to follow the manufacturer's recommended vetting process with the new set of pads and rotors to get the optimal performance and wear out of your setup. If you need more info about this, you can always check out the product page, or do not hesitate to get in touch with one of our award winning customer service agents by phone or by email. If you're looking to upgrade the brakes on your '94 and newer Mustang for a very affordable price, well then you have to check out the Power Stop kit available right here at americanmuscle.com.

do you offer a painted rotor , I don't want to see any rust on them after some time goes by ? thank you , Mark Kriewall

    • We would not offer a painted rotor no. However any rotor will start to have surface rust if left out and not used for a while. Once you drive the car the surface rust will go away.

Are these noisey? I’ve heard that slotted and or drilled rotors are. Thanks

How are the Z23s different from the z26? Thank you

    What about brake pad replacement?

    • We do have the brake pads in this kit separately. You can find them here: https://www.americanmuscle.com/powerstop-z23-front-pads-0510gtv6.html(front) & https://www.americanmuscle.com/powerstop-z23-rear-pads-0510.html (rear).

I bought these a couple weeks ago, the fit great the, but the only problem is the driver side rotor is scraping against the dust shiel and we tried bending the shield and it’s its still hitting it will it be ok to remove the dust shields from the front?

    • Removal of the dust shields is possible, however we would recommend keeping them in place for street use to prevent debris from getting caught between the pad and rotor.

      Sketched out at first

First time ever doing a rotor and brake job my self. Install was a breeze. When I first got them they made a weird moaning noise and locked up my wheels a tad bit..after about 4 times of braking it stopped and it’s been working fine since..not sure if that’s normal but I’m overall happy

      Nice upgrade

Better than oem. Break in complete. It has been cold up here so I had them installed. Would recommend. Along with the brakes I have the struts and shocks replaced (Koni) along with lower springs , lower control arms, adjustable upper control arm, adjustable panhard bar and new bar end links. Car handles very well and the brakes were just the icing on top of the cake. Looking forward to spring time.

      Quick and Fast

Our family drag races at Bandimere Speedway, an NHRA Member track in Colorado. As you can imagine, when you're running fast, you also want to be able to stop just as fast. These brakes do the trick. And they look as good as they work.

These brakes not only look good but they also perform just as good. I would recommend this product to anyone who is trying to achieve an upgraded set of brakes without having to spend major money on the other major name brands. I drive my mustang daily so this works perfectly for me!

      Good replacement

These brakes were to be used as a replacement for my 2006 Saleen S281 3V, which did not come with the Saleen 15 inch rotors and 6 piston calipers, the GT500 Brembo brakes they sell here were not in budget, so i chose these, as they were cheap and provided a good replacement it seemed. And they do a good job at it, but they are no more than a basic replacement, they provide the same stopping power as stock, but provided a nice look. They do their job well, and if you are looking for a good replacement set, these are good for the price. If you need an upgrade however, go for the GT500 15 inch rotors and 6 piston calipers that American Muscle offers for a good bargain, but if you just need replacement rotors and pads, i'd go with these. Hope this review was helpful, and have a great day!
