      Review & Installation Video

Hey everyone, I'm Justin with americanmuscle.com. This is my breakdown of the Power Stop cross drilled and slotted rotor and pad kit available for all 1994 to 2014 Mustangs. Power Stop is a company that specializes in producing quality braking components for a wide variety of applications, all with the goal of increasing your stopping power for a very affordable price. We have had some recent experience with Power Stop's kit on our 2014 GT project car named Project Coyote, and if you guys want, you can click on that link below. You can check out all of our project car builds and also subscribe to our YouTube channel while you're there to check out more in depth detailed product overviews. This particular Power Stop kit, as I mentioned earlier, is available for just about every generation Mustang there is, including the newer Brembo cars, and really is a great bang for your buck mod. With this kit, you do get both the front and rear cross drilled and slotted rotors in addition to the brand new ceramic pads for the same price other companies are charging just for the front two rotors alone. Now that you know what's included with the kit, let's break down the individual components a little further. As I mentioned earlier, you do get the front and rear rotors, both of which have been cross drilled and slotted. If you're not aware of the benefits of running a cross drilled and slotted rotor, here's the deal. They will actually prevent a little excess heat from building up, and it also reduces some brake fade after a few repetitive hard stops. The rotors have also been silver zinc coated to help prevent any possible rust or corrosion from building up and to ensure that the rotors themselves remain looking good for years to come.Speaking of looking good, it's hard to deny the fact that a set of cross drilled and slotted rotors just look amazing on any car and add a much more aggressive look to the car itself. In fact, don't take my word for it. You can always click on the link below to check out the customer submitted images and reviews of these rotors on our very own customer pages. That way, you get a good look at what these rotors might look like on your very own Mustang. Again, click on the link below to check out the products page, if you're not there already.Moving on to the pads, the Power Stop kit does include the Evolution carbon ceramic brake pad which will help you in a couple of different ways. For starters, that carbon ceramic compound will allow for higher brake temperatures but with less brake fade, increasing your overall stopping power. In addition, these pads will be a little bit more quiet, and they will also produce less brake dust, helping to keep your wheels a lot cleaner.Installing a new set of brakes and rotors on any Mustang is actually a pretty straightforward job that just about any owner should feel confident in tackling using some basic hand tools and a lift or jack. You have to keep in mind, guys, you are tackling all four corners here, so expect to spend about three hours at least, or a nice Saturday or Sunday afternoon, in the garage to get everything knocked out.You definitely want to follow the manufacturer's recommended vetting process with the new set of pads and rotors to get the optimal performance and wear out of your setup. If you need more info about this, you can always check out the product page, or do not hesitate to get in touch with one of our award winning customer service agents by phone or by email. If you're looking to upgrade the brakes on your '94 and newer Mustang for a very affordable price, well then you have to check out the Power Stop kit available right here at americanmuscle.com.

        Awesome Performance and Looks

This set up is super easy to install and the directions are very easy to follow (even the burn in). Only thing to remember is not to wash your wheels before doing the pad burn in. These rotors don't come with oil on them, they are completely painted silver. They look great especially if you have open style wheels. The cost is in line if not cheaper than if you replace with junk at the local parts store. Highly recommended.

Awesome set of disks and pads

Absolutely love the sporty look, performance differences, and quality of these rotors and pads. Install was a breeze with all required hardware. Noticed a difference in braking right away the slotted and drilled rotors are definitely worth the extra cash . During install took the extra time to paint the callipers red for the ultimate sporty look to really compliment this kit

        Great

I am very happy with these brakes. They look good and they stop good. Question for AM: Why am I being prompted to submit a review having a minimum amount of characters?? The product that I am reviewing works great and there is nothing further for me to provide. Why force us to submit reviews having a minimum amount of characters?? I just wont submit future reviews if this requirement remains.

        Great product

Took me about 3 hours to get everything done on the car, as well as doing the high temperature runs. They’ve got a bit firmer bite but honestly feel pretty stock just driving around. Overall for the price, I think it’s a great buy.

Hey i just got these brake rotors with the pad kit about a month ago about to install them but can you help me with the braking procedure

      • The break in procedure is critical! If you do not break in the pad properly, it can result in brake pedal pulsation and thermal shock to the rotor causing stress cracks. Break in the pads as follows: 5 moderate to aggressive stops at 40 mph to 5 mph without letting the brakes cool and do not come to a complete stop. Then do 5 moderate stops at 25 mph to 5 mph and let the rotors cool after each brake application. You should expect to smell some resin as the brakes get hot.

do you offer a painted rotor , I don't want to see any rust on them after some time goes by ? thank you , Mark Kriewall

      • We would not offer a painted rotor no. However any rotor will start to have surface rust if left out and not used for a while. Once you drive the car the surface rust will go away.
