Hey everyone, I'm Justin with americanmuscle.com. This is my breakdown of the Power Stop cross drilled and slotted rotor and pad kit available for all 1994 to 2014 Mustangs. Power Stop is a company that specializes in producing quality braking components for a wide variety of applications, all with the goal of increasing your stopping power for a very affordable price. We have had some recent experience with Power Stop's kit on our 2014 GT project car named Project Coyote, and if you guys want, you can click on that link below. You can check out all of our project car builds and also subscribe to our YouTube channel while you're there to check out more in depth detailed product overviews. This particular Power Stop kit, as I mentioned earlier, is available for just about every generation Mustang there is, including the newer Brembo cars, and really is a great bang for your buck mod. With this kit, you do get both the front and rear cross drilled and slotted rotors in addition to the brand new ceramic pads for the same price other companies are charging just for the front two rotors alone. Now that you know what's included with the kit, let's break down the individual components a little further. As I mentioned earlier, you do get the front and rear rotors, both of which have been cross drilled and slotted. If you're not aware of the benefits of running a cross drilled and slotted rotor, here's the deal. They will actually prevent a little excess heat from building up, and it also reduces some brake fade after a few repetitive hard stops. The rotors have also been silver zinc coated to help prevent any possible rust or corrosion from building up and to ensure that the rotors themselves remain looking good for years to come. Speaking of looking good, it's hard to deny the fact that a set of cross drilled and slotted rotors just look amazing on any car and add a much more aggressive look to the car itself. In fact, don't take my word for it. You can always click on the link below to check out the customer submitted images and reviews of these rotors on our very own customer pages. That way, you get a good look at what these rotors might look like on your very own Mustang. Again, click on the link below to check out the products page, if you're not there already. Moving on to the pads, the Power Stop kit does include the Evolution carbon ceramic brake pad which will help you in a couple of different ways. For starters, that carbon ceramic compound will allow for higher brake temperatures but with less brake fade, increasing your overall stopping power. In addition, these pads will be a little bit more quiet, and they will also produce less brake dust, helping to keep your wheels a lot cleaner. Installing a new set of brakes and rotors on any Mustang is actually a pretty straightforward job that just about any owner should feel confident in tackling using some basic hand tools and a lift or jack. You have to keep in mind, guys, you are tackling all four corners here, so expect to spend about three hours at least, or a nice Saturday or Sunday afternoon, in the garage to get everything knocked out. You definitely want to follow the manufacturer's recommended vetting process with the new set of pads and rotors to get the optimal performance and wear out of your setup. If you need more info about this, you can always check out the product page, or do not hesitate to get in touch with one of our award winning customer service agents by phone or by email. If you're looking to upgrade the brakes on your '94 and newer Mustang for a very affordable price, well then you have to check out the Power Stop kit available right here at americanmuscle.com.

I notice that these are significantly less expensive than buying other rotors and pads, is that because they're intended for mainly street use, or can I take them to the track? And will they still be a solid upgrade over stock?

        • This Power Stop Z23 Evolution Sport Brake Rotor & Pad Kit can stand up to limited track use, but is designed more for street applications. For track applications, a more aggressive pad material is typically recommended.

Before installation shops are still recommending the rotors be touched up and not just installed directly. Would you recommend that or can we trust they’re straight and can be installed right out of the box?

        • When installing the Power Stop Z23 Evolution Sport Brake Rotor and Pad Kit, or any other quality aftermarket rotor, no additional machine work should be required, and these will be good to go after wiping the protective oil off the rotor.

Top notch at a bargin price

Nice brake kit, everything included and easy to install. Looks good, too. If the old brakes had come apart easier, it would have been a 1 hour install. Haven't had a chance to really wring 'em out, but they seem to work as advertised.

            Work Perfectly

Improved stopping distance and pedal bite. Work as you would expect performance brakes to. Like others have said, they do look a little small, but they don’t look jokingly small either

            Great Brakes

My wife is a very aggressive driver ( I won't ride with her)This set of brakes is just what she needed reliable performance stop after stop. They look great on the car and will haul this car down to a stop quickly and safely and with great pedal feel. I now wish I had purchased the red powder coat calipers to go with them.

            Look Great! Stop Great!

If you are replacing your Pads and Rotors, I think it's worth spending the extra money on these Slotted and Drilled Rotors and Ceramic pads. They really look sharp on my 2010 V6 Convertible. I am only giving this a 4 out of 5 stars because there isn't a very noticeable difference in stopping power over the factory Motorcraft Pads and Rotors. While your calipers and brackets are off I recommend getting Caliper paint, It will really draw attention to your nice Rotors! To give backstory, I Bought my car with 60k miles, I have now about 90k, I heard a bit of squeeking and figured it was time to replace my brakes and went with these. After pulling my stock pads and rotors off, I saw I had about 5mm of Pad left which could easily get me through another year before they went Metal to Metal. I hope these ceramic pads last as long as the motorcraft pads!

I just love these brakes and the edge that they give over the stock, poorly rust protected, brakes. These are even a great install for a college student like me that can't pay a fortune to the prices of mechanics and dealerships.

            great for the price

theses brakes were ease to install. the stop very well for the price! the one thing i was unhappy with was the fact that there was not a lot of grease for the caliper clips included in the kit. besides that for the price these brakes are very good and stop very well!

            Time for some new brakes

I love the look that these new brakes add to my car. I still have the old factory wheels on the car but these do shine through. and when you see these new rotors it look like a more expensive car. I put them on by myself. It took me a good day to do it. I had a hand jack, a few sockets, a pad to kneel on, and hammer (because the old rotors were actually rusted on and needed a few good wacks to free off). You do need to brake in the new pads in and the box tells how many stops you have to do at what speeds. do this on a quite morning and in a rural area if possible. The stopping power dosen't feel that much better than before but that could be my preference in quick stops.

            Great So Far!

I purchased these to replace my basic (non-drilled and slotted) rotors and pads. Very simple install, and boy what a stopping power difference! Only thing I would mention that scared me right after the install was that the brakes were EXTREMELY rough in the beginning (within the first few stops), and they have to be broken in. At the very end of each stop (at first), a very loud horn sound came from the brakes, as if they were put on incorrectly. This went away for me within the hour of taking a few hard stops.
