      Description

High Flow. Are you looking to free up your restrictive stock exhaust, but are required by law to run Catalytic Converters? Then AmericanMuscle has the answer you need in the form of Pypes High Flow Metallic Catalytic Converter Kit.

Easy swap at the track.   Every car enthusiast knows that catalytic converters suck the lifeblood - horsepower - out of your engine. If you're running a Pypes modular x-pipe style configuration for track / racing purposes, these cats give you an easy way to be street legal when you leave the track.

Rugged construction. These Pypes Mini Catalytic Converters are build from polished 409 stainless and feature a durable Metallic substrate material making them perfect for force inducted applications. They weigh in at 2.5 lbs each and only measure 11 inches in length.

Small Footprint. Installed, the Pypes catalytic converters have a very Small under-carriage footprint that only takes up a virtually invisible 7” in length making them perfect for custom applications.

Will pass most emissions tests. Pypes High Flow Metallic Catalytic Converters will pass emissions testing procedures in most states. However, check your local and state ordinances for installation and usage regulations.

Application. The Pypes High Flow Metallic Catalytic Converter Kit is specifically designed for use with power adders such as a Supercharger, Turbo-charger, or Nitrous equipped Mustang from 1986 to 2010. If you have a naturally aspirated Mustang then check out the Pypes High Flow Ceramic Catalytic Converter Kit.

5 2007 GT - TylerL Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Supercharged 07 GT

For anyone looking to remove the smell and increase flow over stock cats these are great. I ran with no cats and couldn’t stand the smell. These really cleaned it up. Didn’t remove everything but they got rid of most of it.

        5 2006 V6 - Ethan Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        GREAT!

So I kept going through cats because I have nitrous, and then I found these. They are absolutely amazing, sound great, and the insides don't crumble into dust with nitrous use. Highly recommend if you have forced induction, and still wanna pass emissions.

        5 1998 V6 - DJ Installation Time: Shop Install Installation Cost: 0-$100

        Beautiful Product

They're appearance is beautiful, and so is the sound and power gain vs. stock! Only thing (because the pair only came with 2 clamps), I had to have a shop install them. Which isn't too big of a deal, the guy does great work!

        5 2003 Cobra - JimB

        Pypes metallic cats

Awesome sound on the insane Cobra thrust side awesome burble on the backing off to normal speed side. Shorter than the aftermarket cats I blew out so had to have a 2.5' piece of pipe welded on. Glad i did it.

        1 2009 GT500 - 600hpGT500 Installation Time: Shop Install Installation Cost: $100-$250

        Terrible product

I own a 2009 gt500 with 2.5 pulley and monoblade throttle body. I thought these cats would help my Shelby breathe but instead they are choking it to death. I have less power and less gas mileage than the stock units. I will be getting these removed after only 3 days of use. What a waste. Do yourself a favor and buy another product.

4 2006 GT - Larryv Installation Time: Shop Install Installation Cost: $100-$250

        2006 4.6 supercharged GT

Well made outer layer that is considerably better made than stock catalytic converters. The sound is deeper without being obnoxious. Having the O2 sensor bungs already inplace is nice. So far only about 300 miles on the converters, the O2 sensors are reading out of range.

      5 Top Rated Questions

Will these cats pass smog check in California?

      • The Pypes High Flow Metallic Catalytic Converters will past most emissions test however, they are not guaranteed to pass. Since they alter emission outputs, they are very susceptible to fail against California's strict emissions tests.

      Can BAMA tune for these?

      • Bama can tune for these cats.

Is a tune required with these? Will these work with the Mac Pro Chamber Mid Pipe?

      • A computer tunr would be required with these converters and they do have a 2.5" inlet/outlet which is pretty standard. As long as your Mid-pipe is this size they will work.

I have an 08 GT500, do I need to modify my tune to use these cats or will my current tune work and work well?

      • The Pypes High Flow Metallic Catalytic Converter Kit will typically not require any changes to your tune.

Is there any drawback if I install this on a naturally aspirated Mustang? Later I would go for a supercharger.

      • There should not be any issues with this on an naturally aspirated setup however since this has cats it will not be as free flowing and you may not notice much in terms of the sound difference.
