Jake: Jake here for American Muscle, and today, I'm taking a look at the Range Active and Dynamic Fuel Management Disabler for 2010 and newer Camaro V6s and 6.2 L V8s. GM's Active or Dynamic Fuel Management Cylinder Deactivation System has been a point of contention since its introduction. And there's a large number of Camaro owners out there who have gone out of their way to disable this system. Normally, that requires some type of modification or tuning to deactivate and get the engines to run on all cylinders all the time. However, Range now has this really easy plug-and-play little module. It's going to deactivate the system with next to no fuss. So if you want an easy workaround to AFM or DFM that won't require any permanent modifications, this is going to be very appealing to you. Now, as you can see, this is a rather small little module, and all it does is plug into the OBD2 port underneath of your dash. Now, this is not a tuner or a programmer, so there are a few things that it does, or rather doesn't do, that make it appealing if you're not looking to make any permanent or major modifications to your car.First of all, this does not reprogram the ECU in any way. And if you unplug it, the car will return to factory settings without any input or reprogramming from you. So it's not going to throw any codes or cause any check engine lights because it's not modifying any coding within the PCM. So this is an excellent choice for you if you have an active warranty or if you just aren't interested in tuning your car. So the idea here is that this is going to make the engine run in eight-cylinder or six-cylinder mode, depending on your engine, all the time. So it's going to keep the car from shutting down multiple cylinders so you can enjoy an uninterrupted flow of power. And take a look at what our customers have to say as well because this one has been very highly rated, overall. It's a great way to get around the hassle of AFM or DFM without any of those permanent or expensive modifications, and in addition, not running that system can also help save some wear and tear on vital engine components, which will just save you money in the long run. Now, this little module is going to run you around $250. And while that's not cheap, it is a really clever solution, and it undercuts the cost of a tuner, which would be your other main option if you wanted to delete or disable AFM or DFM.It's super easy to use and install, and again, it makes no permanent modifications, whatsoever. And, of course, you can save the wear and tear or aggravation that cylinder deactivation may cause. So, for that $250, I think this is well worth it. Now, as far as install goes, it really could not be any easier. A very easy one out of three on the difficulty meter and shouldn't take you more than five minutes to get it installed and get back on the road. Just plug it in, look for the little blue LEDs to light up here, and you're set to go. Not much more to say. So to show you how to get this done, let's head to the install bay right now.Male Speaker: What's up, guys? Today, we're going to be installing a Range OBD2 plugin. This is a no-tools-required install, so let's get right into it. All right. So to install our plugin, it doesn't really get much easier. We have our OBD2 port down here, and we can just plug it right in.Jake: That's going to do it for our review and install of the Range Active and Dynamic Fuel Management Disabler for 2010 and newer Camaros. Thanks so much for watching, and as always, for everything Camaro, be sure to stick with us right here at americanmuscle.com.
