    Improve Off The Line Acceleration. Are you searching for a way to get your 1999-2004 New Edge Mustang up off the line quicker? If so, you should upgrade to a set of Richmond Excel 3.73 Ring and Pinion Gears. Richmond's Excel 3.73 Gears have a higher ratio when compared to the gears installed by Ford at the factory. This steeper ratio is designed to get your Mustang into its power band quicker which will improve low end torque for faster acceleration. A set of 3.73 gears are ideal for use on the street, the track and at the drag strip.

    Recommended Upgrade. Please note that when changing the gear ratio of your Mustangs rear differential that the calibration of your speedometer will no longer be correct and will display the wrong speed. However, you can easily fix this annoying issue with a Ford Racing Speedometer Recalibration Tool (sold separately).

    Application. This 3.73 ratio Richmond Excel Ring and Pinion Gear set will fit all 1999 to 2004 V8 Mustangs equipped with an 8.8" rear end, including the GT, Bullitt, Mach 1 and SVT Cobra models. A master bearing kit is recommended by most installers, especially on high mileage vehicles, see drop down option above.

    Technical Note. Installation costs will vary, but a good rule of thumb is between $250 and $300. Be sure to work with a reliable shop that you trust for installations. You can also save money on your installation labor by having your Trac-Lok rebuilt at the same time as your gears are installed, see drop down option above.

            Awesome upgrade!

            Item was well worth it! I installed and drove easy for 500 miles and straight to the track and I shaved a half of a second off my original time! I would recommend the bearing kit and install kit as well!

            Only complaint is the pinion diameter is a hair smaller then the original gears so it seems gear oil.

            After installation I noticed gear oil leaking past the splines. Pulled the yoke back off and meandered the diameter. Turns out they're about a thousands of an inch smaller then the originals.
