These are the same exact premium mufflers that are included as original factory equipment on the Ford Mustang RTR designed and developed by Vaughn Gittin Jr. This RTR Axle-back not only looks and sounds great, but will also improve your Mustangs exhaust flow for an increase of horsepower at the rear wheels. This system was made in close collaboration with Magnaflow Exhaust.

    • The RTR Tactical Performance Street Spec Axle-Back Exhaust w/ Black Tips is manufactured and designed to specifically fit the 11-14 V6 Mustangs. This is not intended for installation on a 15' V6 and can not guarantee this will fit even with modification.

    How loud are these in comparison to the Borla ATAKs (volume)? I seem to like the RTR tone on the V8s, so I was curious as to how these sounded on the v6. Usually the exhaust will sound the same closer to the red line with v6 mufflers, just louder or a little deeper, but I was curious as to how this sounded on the low end in comparison to the ATAKs. Also, how's the paint on these? even in the sample AM video, the paint was chipping already...which is why I'm always if-y about getting black ceramic coatings.

    • The ATAK's and the RTR's are quite similar in volume. Depending on what else you have on the car may be the dividing factor. The ATAK's are going to sound a bit more raspy which can tend to be louder. Where as the RTR's are loud and deep which will have an aggressive tone to them. The paint may start to chip eventually. It is underneath the car, so it will be affected by the elements and debris. It is a thermal coating which helps with heat.

    Performance of these RTR's worth it? Will I see any HP gain over the stock mufflers?

    • You won't really see any horsepower gains with axle backs. If you are buying axle backs it is really just for the sound. If you are looking for power and sound go look at some catbacks.

      A different look with a great sound

      I bought this system to replace a set of Dynomax VT mufflers that had started to deteriorate (blowing out the packing). I have previously ran the Borla Touring Exhaust and the OEM. The RTR muffler body is smaller than others and has 2 inlets. The fit on my car is very good. The black ceramic finish is nice and I did not notice any scratching or chipping during or after the install. The install took me about 45 minutes (removing old and install the new). The mufflers and tips lined up easily and looks great on my car. The muffler tone is fairly quiet and deep at idle but does get a bit louder during acceleration. If you are a loud exhaust lover look elsewhere as this exhaust is not very loud. There is some very slight drone at low rpms under load but it is minimal. Overall a great look at a great sound for my 2011 Mustang.

      Awesome -- Everyone Loves it. READ TILL END :)

      So start with the stock, pypes and this RTR. ..... stock one is so bad no sound .. my stang is customized with airaid intake ...but no sound so look so bad... I purchase pypes bomb ..they are sound great but loud drone and startup sound in the morning wakes my neighbour... at 1500 to 2000 RPM .. i can't even hear radio sound at 50 volume .... and my family don't wanna sit in the car. So I SWTICH TO RTR ... they sound the same as pypes bomb but with 10 of drone. Now everyone loves the sound .. no drone in My CONVERTIBLE .... And also this is combination of RTR MAGNAFLOW ... and i love the RTR logo at tip..... This is a 10 Star from me. :)

      LOUD!

      I installed these today with bbk long tubes and an offroad x pipe, install went very smooth in fact it only took about 4 hours with three people on jack stands in the garage. The black tips look great on the black car, there were some issues getting them both oriented out the back of the bumper correct but that may be due to fords goofy hangers. They were very raspy at first but the whole setup is night and day better than the stock equipment. I had about a 35 min drive home after about an hour of driving after the install and they are starting to break in a bit because the tone has gotten a lot deeper and less raspy, of course above 4000 rpms they are still insanely loud but below 2500 there not that much louder than stock just a little deeper. The whole setup headers to mufflers absolutely will turn heads

      Deep and loud!

      These sound amazing. I had BBK LTH, catted X pipe and throttle body, and an Airade intake before I put the axle backs on. It's VERY loud aggressive, and raspy. I can't tell you how they'd sound without headers. If you want to know how they sound, I put sound clips on YouTube. The one thing I'd knock these on is that they're very hard to get to fit properly. A friend and I spent the better part of 3 hours tweaking them, and there's still a pretty serious leak. I'll end up shelling out a good chunk of change when I have to get my state inspection done, but until then, it'll do.

      LOUD

      I got these a while back. I love the way they look and sound. The only complaint that I have is that where the exhaust connects to the intermediate pipe, I couldn't get a perfect seal, so they leak a bit. My buddy and I spent about 3 hours putting these on trying to get them to seal properly. Like everybody says, the hardest part is getting the old ones off. They're nice and loud on start up and have the perfect muscle car growl. After it idles down, it almost returns to stock levels. I also have long tube headers with a catted x pipe, so these definitely drone on my car, but it's nothing you can't get used to. Highly recommend.       Loud and Aggressive!

      Love the way that these mufflers sound. Loud aggressive sound. Definitely turns heads when driving by. They also look great on the bank end of mine adding some more black getting rid of the chrome. Extremely pleased with these mufflers over all!! If you want a loud aggressive sound then these are for you!! Very easy to install. Hardest part was getting the old ones off.

      Loud, but not what I expected

      So to start I the two mods, a bama tune and the airaid intake. Fit and Finish: On the finish for the black paint I noticed several paint chips and scratch marks around the pipping, primarily on the driver side exhaust. For the install is was fairly simple, just take some time uninstalling the stock exhaust. Loudness: The level of loudness is amazing when it starts up and in the lower rpms. Exhaust Note: Now this is my only issue I have with this exhaust and why I have taken them off and put the stock exhaust back on. At idle, the is sound aggressive and pure muscle. In the lower rpms it is pretty consistent with the sound, but when under WOT or anytime under heavy acceleration it sounds like an import and not a muscle car. I don't if that was the intended design of the exhaust but it was not what I expected.
