How to Install RTR Upper Grille w/ Lights (18-19 GT, EcoBoost) on your Ford Mustang

Note: Having a second set of hands will be helpful when removing and reinstalling the bumper.

Installation Instructions:

1. Safely raise vehicle using a jack and jack stands, ramps, or a lift. For ease of installation, remove front two wheels.

2. Remove the 8 push pins that secure the radiator cover.

3. Remove (6) 8mm bolts and (2) 5.5mm bolts that secure the bumper to the core support.

4. Remove the 6 push pins to allow the inner fender liner to be pulled back. Pull this back and tuck out of the way.

5. Remove the (2) 10mm nuts that hold the bumper to the fender and pull the black bracket (pull straight down). This is secured by a push pin.

6. Unplug fog light.

7. Repeat previous steps on other side of vehicle.

8. Underneath the vehicle, remove the (4) 7mm bolts and 2 push pins that secure the belly pan to the subframe.

9. Remove bumper from vehicle. It is recommended to have an extra set of hands for this step as to not damage the bumper.

10. Lay the bumper face down on a soft surface such as a blanket.

11. Remove the plastic bumper support by gently prying the tabs back.

12. Remove factory grille by gently prying the tabs. Using a wide flat head screwdriver makes this step easier.

13. Prep the new grille for install by drilling (6) 3/16” holes in the marked spaces. (innermost part of the triangles)

14. Slide the provided mounting tabs onto the RTR lights.

15. Install the RTR lights from the front of the grille with the 6 provided screws and washers.

16. Mount the electrical box to the top side of the grille with the provided double sided tape.

17. Install the grille into the bumper by lining up all of the tabs and pushing firmly to engage them.

18. Reinstall the plastic support on the bumper.

19. Place bumper back onto vehicle. Recommend to have an extra set of hands for this step.

20. Before tightening anything down, reach to the back of the headlight and unplug the main plug and plug in the wiring splitter attached to the lights and plug back into the headlight on both sides.

21. Plug in both fog light assemblies.

22. Reinstall the black brackets holding the bumper to the fender with the previously removed (2) 10mm nuts.

23. Refasten the belly pan to the subframe.

24. Reattach the inner fender liners.

25. Secure the bumper with the (6) 8mm and (2) 5.5mm bolts removed previously.

26. Reinstall radiator cover and close the hood.

27. Enjoy your new aggressive RTR grille.
