Given these are a different design from the stock lines on my 88 (which used a hard line stubbing up from the caliper that was attached to a hose that went to the body), I'm concerned about these rubbing tires / suspension, etc. What can be done to prevent this from happening - is there a spring / other "hose management" that can be installed?

    • The Russell Stainless Steel Braided Brake Line Kit is designed to install without any additional securing of the brake line. We do not recommend securing it further as this could cause the line to become stressed and tear.

    • The Russell Stainless Steel Braided Brake Line Kit will only fit 87-93 5.0s with stock brakes.

A must have on any car.

When you get tired of stepping on a sponge upgrade to these! I've spent hundreds of dollars on all new brakes from the master cylinder, calipers, pads and rotors, and after bleeding everything out end up with a garbage pedal feel anyways. Save yourself the time and money and do this from the start you won't be disappointed.

      Noticable Improvment in the Petal

I put these braided lines on my Cougar when upgrading my front spindles from 10" to 11". The petal feel and response is greatly improved, compared to the old rubber lines. I did have to file down on the hex of these lines to fit into the existing brackets on my car, but that only took a few minutes of labor and a vice. Over a year later, they still look great and function well.

      Rear line requires modification

Front lines are a direct bolt in, the rear line, however, requires modification to install. Takes some work, but entirely worth it in pedal feel!

      Russell Stainless Brake lines

I bought them to replace my stock lines. Old brake lines had 250,000 miles on them. Break response is a lot better.

      Best upgrade

These are the best upgrade from your stock brake lines. They look good if you have a show car and perform great for both show or track cars.

      Steel braided lines

Great quality, however the lines didn't fit into the bracket to connect to the hard lines so I had to drill mine out for it to fit properly. Otherwise very good product for the money.

      Time to change!

Adding these lines to my 92 adds not only better stopping power to the brakes, but look excellent on the car. I have long wanted to add these to replace those old factory rubber hoses and both AM & Russell provide an economical way to improve your brakes. Expect to spend an afternoon on installation, because you don't want to rush. You'll be rewarded with your patience. As always, AM provides fast shipping to help you get started quickly!
