Getting rid of your rear seats is like getting "free" horsepower, simply by reducing weight.

Two Seater Appeal. The Mustang Convertible Rear Seat Delete kit for your SN-95 'Vert replaces your faded, beat up factory rear seats with a sleek, premium black finish. Tired of friends bumming rides? Now you have a real excuse! Cruise in style with the companion of your choice.

4 1997 GT - CodyL Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

Fits great but is very cheap

Installed this simple mod about a week or two ago, had to modify it a little bit so it could fit around my roll cage. the two wood sheets that make up the thing you are very flimsy, but are lightweight and fit perfectly where my old seat was. if you plan on using the bottom as any sort of shelf I highly recommend adding some support to it, I used a different plywood sheet and the included wooden dowel rods to reinforce it. overall it looks great, but I'd wait for it to go on sale before purchasing it

        Almost perfect

Could have been came with better reinforcements. Carpet and wood are good though.

3 1995 GT - Nickname Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Looks great from afar.

The material is very thin, as stated in the ad. Less sturdy then whatever you probably have in your head when looking at the ad. The carpet looks great, but overall fitment was an issue. They are too big, by about a 1/4 inch, so they are bowed a bit until they hopefully settle. I do not have the Mach stereo (I installed this at the same time as new rear speakers, so even confirmed by finding oem speakers, not tweeters back there) but the convertible wiring harness is very much in the way for both the bottom, and where they pre drilled for the mounting bolt. I am fairly certain my X and velcrow were on the wrong sides, but fitment was off both ways so hard to tell. It looks good if your not nitpicking and is a good base to build something custom for the car. If I had space and the tools to build it myself, yes that would have been the better and cheaper route, but overall, it got the job done in almost no time at all since I had the rear seats already pulled.

5 1996 GT - Muatangman Installation Time: Afternoon

        Much better the original

This took no time at all to put in but I had to put some 2x4's along the back side of the bottom to add a little support because I mounted my amps on it for the interior speakers and sub but looks amazing and ppl ask me about it all the time

        Rear Seat Delete

Fairly simple to install, it would have been super helpful to have an extra set of hands to get the back installed...but its still possible. I have a convertible, and the Velcro on the bottom (to hold it in place doesn't really work too well so I think I'll have to make some holes in the rear portion of the bottom piece and drill into the dowel rod and secure it that way with a wood screw and washer. Other than that, Great product!

        5 1997 GT - Jeremy

        No Seat No Problem

I Love the rear seat deletion kit. Not only will it knock 40 lbs off of your car but now you don't have to give rides to anyone. The only thing you may want to do is beef up the lower support panel. I just got a 3/4 hardwood ply-board to do the trick.

        Good Product

Good quality product looks great excellent carpet not cheap at all. The only issue I have with it is the block of wood that goes on the back needs to run the whole length of the bottom piece.

        Seat Delete Kit

The kit works great, I did add 1/2" plywood under the bottom and some extra support. Now I can use it to put a cooler on. Since the kit has been installed I added 05 mustang seats in that match the black back. Everyone loves the look. Great product.

Having this rear seat delete is great. Its no fun when you have 1 or 2 people in the backseat, which you can hardly fit without them sitting sideways so their knees arent in your back. i cant tall how many times i couldnt enjoy the ride in my stang cause my seat was moved all the way forward. When you have backseats so small like the 95 convertible like i have, and you tell people they cant ride in the back , they say \"oh no, i dont mind squeezing in\". But the driver sure minds u squeezing in. Rear seat deletes are ideal

      Questions & Answers (1 answers)

      1 Top Rated Question

Will this kit work with a Speedster Cover? I run my convertible with a speedster cover all the time, so I have no use for the back seats. I also would like to clean up the back and benefit from the weight reduction. However, the speedster cover uses the rear passenger seat belt latches to secure it down. Will this be able to work somehow with the Speedster Cover and Rear Seat Delete Kit?

      • Anything the Rear Seat Delete Kit - Convertible - Black (94-98 All) covers that prevents the install of the speedster cover would simply need to be modified, but other than that there is no reason it won't work.
