How to Install Steeda 35 lb./in. Clutch Spring Assist (15-17 GT, EcoBoost, V6) on your Ford Mustang

Tools Required
  • Needle Nose Vice Grips

Disassembly

1. Depress the clutch pedal fully in order to initially compress the assist spring.

2. Using the needle nose vice grips clamp the middle two coils of the factory spring together, they should compress the coils far enough so that the top and bottom spring perches begin to unseat from their mounts on the pedal.

3. Using your hand, press down on the top spring perch and rotate the assembly towards the driver’s seat to unseat it completely from the upper channel on the pedal.

4. Remove the assembly and carefully unclamp the vice grips.

Assembly

1. Assemble the factory spring perches with the Steeda clutch assist spring.

2. Depress the clutch pedal fully.

3. Place the bottom spring perch on the pin welded to the factory pedal.

4. Next swing the assembly up into position, compress the spring using your hands and place the upper spring perch into the factory channel on the pedal.

5. Release the clutch spring.

Enjoy!
