    Features & Details

    • Improved Clutch Pedal Feel
    • Heavy-Duty Piano Wire Construction
    • 35 lb./in. Clutch Assist Spring
    • Replaces OEM Spring for Easy Installation
    • Limited-Lifetime Warranty
    • Fits 2015-2017 Ford Mustang GT, EcoBoost, and V6 Models
More Precise Clutch Pedal Feel and Control. The Steeda 35 lb./in. Clutch Assist Spring replaces the 185 lb./in. spring that comes in your Mustang. The high rate of the OEM spring leads to vague clutch pedal feel. Converting to the Steeda 35 lb./in. Spring helps your clutch pedal feel more linear and direct. This simple modification can transform the way your Mustang feels.

Less Clutch Chatter. Replacing your stock clutch spring with the Steeda 35 lb./in. helps your clutch pedal return completely to the at rest position. This both reduces clutch chatter and prevents slave cylinder wear. A pedal that does not return to the at rest position can affect clutch engagement/disengagement. It can also damage the slave cylinder due to constant pressure being applied to the seals.

Piano Wire Constructed. Heavy-duty piano wire provides the Steeda 35 lb./in. Clutch Assist Spring with high tensile strength and high elastic qualities. The design also provides a consistent spring rate and prevents sag over time.

Warranty Information. Steeda backs its 35 lb./in. Clutch Assist Spring with a limited-lifetime warranty. Some exclusions or limitations may apply; please see manufacturer's warranty for complete details.

Application. The Steeda 35 lb./in. Clutch Assist Spring fits 2015-2017 Ford Mustang GT, EcoBoost, and V6 models.

The difference between this spring and the factory spring is night and day. I would highly recommend this to anyone coming from an older mustang and wants a similar feeling clutch pedal.

    • Your 2015-2017 Mustang comes with a 185 lb/in clutch assist spring installed from the factory. This high-rate spring is what causes such a vague and disconnected clutch pedal feel. Using this Steeda 35 lb./in. Clutch Spring Assist will allow a softer and smoother return.

      More linear feel, excellent quality!

Install is super easy. Take needle nose pliers, grip the stock spring and compress in the middle, then twist and pull out. The Steeda spring can by placed back in without a tool since it's much softer and compresses easily. Initial impressions. The pedal is definitely stiffer when pushed in, but when released the feel is much more progressive and linear, the softer release allows smoother engagement. I can see why Ford used the stiffer spring since it helps reduce clutch pedal effort when pushed in, but they went too far with a 150 ft-lb spring since you have to fight the clutch pedal on release and not let it come back too fast. With the Steeda spring, you feel like you're actually releasing the pedal yourself, rather than pushing against a strong force as in the case with the stock spring. Overall, a great product and well worth the price. One caveat is that people who like a softer clutch pedal, where it's easy to push in and springs back up quickly, may not appreciate the change. Those who like to drive smoothly and appreciate more of a linear engagement point will love it. The Steeda feel is similar to how the clutch feel was like in previous gen Mustangs.

      Must have.

Wow Wow wow. I thought I must have forgot how to drive a manual transmission after purchasing my 2015 Mustang GT. I was always bucking pulling out and shifting at slow speeds. Unless I really concentrated. Installed the Steeda assist spring and what a difference. Petal is a lil stiffer bit the return is very smooth. You can feel the clutch engagement much better. This is really how it should have came from the factory.

      Steeda clutch spring

This steeda springs give you more control on the clutch pedal. Stock is too stiff. Very noticeable at first and grows on you very quickly. 5 minute install. I recommend it

An easy upgrade for your clutch

Took 10 minutes to install. Clutch engagement point is much easier to feel now. Having smoother and more positive shifts now. This is how the car should have come from Ford!

Best value mod on the car...

I've spent thousands on suspension and handling upgrades, but the reason I say this is the best value isn't so much for the spring itself, as much as the removal of the stock one. Steeda is great a coming out with little parts like this that address often overlooked shortcomings, and this part does that well. Like others have shared, I started questioning my standard driving skills after 25yrs of driving stick shift vehicles. The OEM spring on my 2015 GTPP is the stupidest thing I have had to upgrade so far, and am honestly a little embarrassed to tell friends what an issue it was. If you're even half decent at driving stick, you need to remove the oem spring, period, and if you remove the oem spring, it is highly recommended that you replace it with something at least stiff enough to take up the 1/4" slope that will be left in the pedal - and this part does that perfectly.

      Great

It’s amazing how different this spring makes the clutch feel. My shifts are smoother and it doesn’t make the clutch too heavy. I definitely recommend this.

      MUST have

STEEDA spring dramatically changed the clutch pedal feel and is much easier to drive. Head knocking and jerking eliminated completely due to the soft rebound of the clutch.

      Its amazing!

The clutch spring changed the feel way more than i thought it would. I was driving the stock clutch on Premium GT and could not get use to it at all. I thought i couldnt drive stick But after 10 mins of driving with the steeda clutch spring. i was use to it and it felt so much better!

      Simple and effective

Very easy to install and the difference is obvious. The stock spring just seemed to mask the feel of the clutch. I was expecting the pedal to be noticeably more difficult to depress, it was not.

This is how it should have been from the factory

I park in an underground garage, in a parking space only JUST wide enough for my Mustang. Parking lot maneuvers with the stock clutch pedal spring were touchy and vague, which meant a lot of anxiety/frustration trying to get the car in and out of the slot. With the lighter-gauge Steeda spring, it's a lot easier to feel clutch engagement--super useful for slow parking maneuvering. Installation was pretty straightforward. Use needlenose locking pliers. It helps to have a flashlight to shine up onto the clutch pedal so you see what you're grabbing. TOP TIP: buy the Steeda spring perch as well, since the factory spring perch will probably shatter when you try to remove it. Only 3/5 stars for Bang for Buck, because the spring (and spring perch) are super pricey for what they are. But this is the best thing you can do right now to improve the clutch engagement feel. I don't regret it one bit. In fact, I bought another spring/spring perch set to give to my brother for his Mustang.

      I can feel again

The stock clutch spring assist feels vague. It provides poor to no feel. The Steeda spring completely cures this problem. Getting the vehicle moving along with shifting is much smoother now. Thank you Steeda!
