How to Install Steeda Billet Aluminum Reverse Lockout Collar (15-17 GT, EcoBoost, V6) on your Ford Mustang

1. Unscrew and remove the shift knob.

2. Lift up on the chrome trim which holds the boot in place and remove it from the center console.

3. Release the 3 prongs on the reverse lockout collar which attach the boot to the shifter.

4. Using a flathead screwdriver gently pry the bottom of the stock reverse lockout collar apart, this is held together by glue from the factory and will release it from the shift boot.

5. With the shift boot freed, use the razor knife to carefully remove one stitch at a time until you are able to turn the boot inside out and push the Steeda reverse lockout collar through the bottom of the boot as shown.

6. Use the provided low profile zip tie to secure the boot around the lockout collar.

7. Install the provided o-ring into the o-ring groove in the top of the lockout collar.

8. Slide the Steeda collar over the shifter and snap it into place on the factory reverse lockout. If installing this piece with our Steeda Tri-Ax, simply tighten the three set screws to secure the collar.  

9. Snap the factory chrome trim back into place on the center console.  

10. Screw your shift knob back onto the shift lever making sure not to over tighten the unit as the chrome centerpiece can be pressed out.
