    Because 1988 and later Camaros have specially coded ignition keys, it makes good sense to have a couple of spares. Before ordering a key you will want to have your local GM dealer or a qualified locksmith measure the resistance on your key.  There are fifteen different chips.  After receiving your blank the dealer or locksmith can copy your old one.
