    Review & Install Video

Hey guys, Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com, here with my review of the Street Scene Quarter Window Louvers for all 2015 and up S550 Mustangs. The Street Scene Quarter Window Louvers are a good option for the guys out there that are looking for some quarter window louvers that will add a different type of after-market look to the appearance of their car. While these are old-school inspired, they're different for sure and will create a unique exterior appearance. Quarter window louvers are always a quick and easy way to enhance the exterior appearance of the S550 in a non-permanent way. So they're a good option for the owners that are looking to add just a little something more, but that aren't looking to get crazy modifying. These louvers are five-slot open louvers, so they're automatically going to look different than window scoops. They come off the window slightly to give a low-profile box look, but the slots create the louver effect. These are not a stepped louver design like the Cervini's Quarter Window Louvers are, so that's really going to set them apart. I would still say that they have a throw-back look to them to the '60s and the '70s, but they still have a look of their own. These do resemble rear window louvers, so I'd imagine that the two mods would pair nicely together. Now the set that I have here in front of me is painted since we took these off one of our shop cars, but these will come unpainted to you. So they'll have a matte black finish, which is nice because this finish will work nicely with any color Mustang. And they're also going to blend in with the window trim around the windows, so they'll look more like they belong. I really like that the majority of quarter window scoops and louvers are off of this trend because this means that you can add these exterior mods and not have to worry about affecting anything since these install right onto the window. Another thing that's different about these louvers here is that they will not completely black out the window, so you will be getting some light through these, or a back-seat passenger will be able to have a little bit of a view. The other thing to consider is that you can always paint-match these if you want. They're made from a flexible urethane material, and this gets the product to be strong and durable at the same time so it can hold up against the elements. So they'll arrive to you a matte black which will match any car, but if they're prepped properly, they can be paint-matched like these are. One thing I'll mention here is that the backside of these things aren't necessarily pretty, so if you're worried about seeing the backside from inside of the car, then you always have the option of grabbing some quarter window blackout decals to hide the backside. The blackout decals cost $25, and they're just a little styling upgrade if you're worried about the look from inside the car, but you won't be getting any light through these louvers if you go that route. As far as price, you can expect to spend just under $200 for these louvers. These are currently the least-expensive rear window louver or scoop. And like I said, they do have a different loop, so there are some other options on the site if these aren't doing it for you. Like I mentioned earlier, another great thing about these louvers is the install. I'm not sure it can get any easier than this. You're looking at spending about a half hour, and I'm going to call it a one out of three wrenches on the scale, even though you won't need any tools to get this done. These come almost ready to install right out of the box. You will need to put some 3M tape on the back of these yourself. The only other way this could get any easier is if they had the 3M tape pre-installed on the back already. To start the install, since these do install onto the window and not the body, you're going to want to make sure that the windows are as clean as possible. And I'm talking no bugs, no grime or any of that. Once the window is clean, apply the 3M tape to the backside of the louver. You're going to want to put the tape on the flat contact areas on the louver. After the tape is installed, remove all of the backing and line-up the louver with the window. It might be easiest to line-up with the rear corner of the glass first, and then line the louver up with the top trim while still holding the bottom corner away from the glass. Then attach the bottom and front of the louver to the glass. You really only have one chance at lining this up correctly, so just make sure you take your time. Once everything is lined up, press firmly on the louvers in the areas where the tape is touching the glass. You'll want to make sure that you create a good seal here. One other thing the mention here is that you should allow the tape to adhere for 24 hours before driving your car. If you don't let it set, the adhesion could fail, and you could be looking at your louver taking flight. Wrapping things up here, the Street Scene Quarter Window Louvers are a different type of rear quarter window louver that have a slotted design. They aren't going to totally black the window out, and they're very easy to install. They look great by themselves or paired with other mods. And they come in matte black, but they can be paint-matched. They're going to work on all 2015 and up Mustangs, and you can check them out more online right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Unique Styling. With many of the same vehicles cruising on local highways and back roads, most car enthusiasts are in constant search of that one thing (or multiple things) to set yours apart and get you noticed. The S550 Fastback is certainly no exception. Invest in a pair of Street Scene Slotted Quarter Window Louvers and not only beef up the sides of your Pony, but provide additional shade for your interior. Utilizing five open slots, your passengers will be able to see out the window while you rip that sick burnout at a Friday night cruise night.

Flexible Urethane Construction. These SS Side Louvers have been crafted from a flexible, yet durable urethane, providing a louver that will withstand weather extremes with ease. Featuring a stealthy matte black finish, you can opt to install these slotted louvers as is or have them color matched at your local paint shop. No matter what your overall vision entails, you can't go wrong installing these Street Scene Louvers.

Simple Installation. Adding a set of Quarter Window Louvers to your Fastback could not be any easier. Ensuring your C-Pillar glass has been thoroughly cleaned of any dust, wax or debris, you can simply adhere the louvers to your rear windows using the supplied 3M two-sided mounting tape. If you decide to paint match these Street Scene Louvers, it's recommended to paint the inside a matte black at the same time to provide a nice, clean view from either side.

Application. These Street Scene Quarter Window Louvers are designed to fit all 2015 to 2018 Fastback Mustangs, including the V6, EcoBoost, GT and Shelby GT350 models. Sold as a set of two.

Technical Note. AmericanMuscle recommends professional installation of all body parts. We also highly recommended test fitting these products before they are painted.

I am looking at 2 items. Side Air scoops which I see YOU paint to match my car Racing Red. The other items are the rear side window either louvered or flat scoop design. Can YOU also paint these to match car color? I have looked at both the Cervini and Street scene window covers louver style. cost $300 and $195. What is the difference to account for a $105 difference in cost? Thanks so much. Quarterkeg

    • If there is not an option to select a color and paint code after the item is clicked on then unfortunately we cannot have this item painted for you. The difference between the Cervini and Street Scene items are their slight difference in design and the companies that they are made by. That will be the only difference between them.

      Street Scene Quarter Window Louvers

A great product, very easy to install after I had them painted, the only thing when I receive them one was a little bent out of shape, ran it under some hot water, bent back into shape and held it there and then it was straight.

      Good not great

Only reason I am not giving it the full 5 stars is because i opened the box and theres scratches on the louvers and one of my louvers came a little bent which is bothering me but I'm going to try to see if I can bend it but not quite working due to the material. Other than that I hope they look good once installed.

      Louvers

Heavy , rubber , first thing I noticed was the finger prints after taking then out of the box which would mean leaving them unpainted wouldn't be an option. Sent them back and waiting for the ones from MMD to got with the rear window Oliver that I already have ,

      Nice

These are heavy duty, not flimsy at all. A bit too shiny imo as opposed to a matte black oem type appearance like the rest of the exterior accessories. I took time to sand the rear contact points to ensure good adhesion of the 3m tape. Time will tell.

      Adds character

First off, the louvers look great. I left them unpainted so they match the flat trim of the car. For what they are I find them somewhat pricy but wanted them anyway. I may remove them one day and have them painted flat black because the material appears to have a lot of rub marks from the factory that are easily seen. That is the only reason I didn't give a five star rating for appearance.

      Rear Louvers

Easy to install, and love the look. The only reasons that I didn't give them max stars are: 1. The studs used are about 1/16 inch to short.. 2 are actually too short to put the supplied acorn nuts on. 2. They come with a 'pebble' texture that would have to be sanded smooth if you wanted to paint to match car.
