How is this sway bar compared to the stock 2012 V6? I'm planning to do a replacement because the stock sway bar links have gone bad and are making a clunk sound. How's the quality of the sway bar links with this one? Any potential for them to make eventually wear out and make the clunk sound?

    katakonik

    • Hi, This ST Suspension Anti Sway Bar - Rear is larger than your stock sway bar and features polyurethane bushings, Your factory bushings are rubber which degrades much faster than polyurethane, this kit does not include end links only new end link brackets which have polyurethane bushings

      Adds Stability

This is a great product for V6 owners who want to add more stability to the car going around corners. It isn't super expensive and relatively easy to install. Worth a look!

      Big Improvement

My V6 came with no factory rear sway bar and understeered badly. This bar totally balanced the car, it's very neutral leaning towards oversteer when you ask for it now. Downside is its not adjustable but for what I wanted it for (autocross) its perfect.

No More Rumble in the Rear

I bought this product based on the review of a few people who had a rumble in the rear-end. I got this bar praying it would fix my issue that had been plaguing me ever since I dropped my car. After installation which wasn't that difficult the rumble was gone. My friend who always commented on the sound noticed right away and also noted that the car seemed to ride smoother. I was a bit skeptical that a sway bar could make such a difference and I was wrong. Not only was the sound gone but my friend was right it tightened up my rear end and the ride was noticeably smoother. Handling has been improved and I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

      Doesn't fit with aftermarket exhaust!

This sway bar with not fit if you have a large diameter after market axle back exhaust. The design of the end links do not provide enough clearance to prevent it from rubbing against the exhaust. Also, the bushing on the lower part of the end link to not fit snug to the sway bar. You pay for what you get. Order a more reputable brand and save time and money.

      ST Suspension Anti Sway Bar

My car came with the factory sway bar and it recently started making a clunking sound that got so bad I had to replace it. All I wanted was to get rid of the clunking, which it did, but the handling improved tremendously. I wasn't expecting that much improvement, body role is almost completely gone around corners and everything just seems firmer. If your mustang didn't come with the factory away bar then the required hardware is included for the upgrade. Install would take someone more experienced about 2 hours, it took me a little longer because at first I put it on backwards and the bar was rubbing against the bracket that holds the panhard bar, and if you have someone else to help you it might speed things up a little bit more. But other than that, install was painless and you will definitely notice an improvement in handling with this product.

      Definite improvement

I had been fighting a mysterious clunk in the rear suspension for over a year and bought the sway bar out of desperation.as a last resort. The installation was easy using jack stands and hand tools. Fit and finish we're perfect. The test drive was a huge relief: No more clunk. The handling improvement is noticeable and a pleasant surprise, even for a daily driver in town.
