Hey, guys, Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com, here with the Shock and Strut kit from ST Suspension for a wide range of Mustangs from 1986 to 2014. The ST Suspension Sport Shock and Strut Kit is a good option for the Mustang owners that are looking for the basic, budget friendly shock and strut setup with no frills or additional capabilities. So, just looking at these on the table here, the kit is made up of the standard twin-tube gas hydraulic shocks and struts, and they're going to work for both coupe and convertible models. The nice thing about having this type of design is the performance that these have, but another big player in the performance and ride quality here is going to be the valve tuning. These aren't what I'd call aggressive or anything, but they're designed to reduce shock and travel, and still maintain a comfortable ride quality. So there are different types of shocks and struts, and like I said, this kit is more of the common or standard setup, so it's going to be a good bit more affordable than the other options that are out there. This kit costs below $400 for both rear shocks and front struts, while if you want to go adjustable, you're looking at spending double for a full kit. But then you also have the pro dampener kit that's in between the STs and adjustable, but closer to the STs in price, just to lay everything out for you. Now, just to be clear, keep in mind that these aren't going to change ride height. That's still going to be left to your lowering springs and coil [inaudible 00:01:23] set outs, but the shocks and struts are going to control the bouncing and up and down movement of the car, and provide structural support for the suspension as well. What this means in driving language is things like ride comfort, handling, braking, and steering. Like most suspensions components, these are going to work best with other suspension upgrades, like lowering springs and sway bars, but even if you don't already have those things, and you're not wanting to go with an adjustable set up, I'd say that these are still where you're going to be looking for replacements if you want a full kit of simple shocks and struts. So, as far as the install, it's not too difficult, but it is easier if you have a lift. If you don't, you can still use a jack and stands, and all you really need is a handful of different sockets and wrenches, maybe an Allen key, and of course a spring compressor so you can keep everything safe. You're probably looking at about two to three hours to get the job done, and I'm going to call this a solid one out of three wrenches on the scale here. And as always, remember that an alignment after the install is needed. Wrapping things up, the ST Suspensions Sport Shock and Strut Kit is going to include twin-tube gas hydraulic components, and it's going to be the most affordable kit across all generations. It's the no-frills choice for replacing or upgrading shocks and struts, and you can check them out more online. I'm Stephanie and for all things Mustang, keep it right here at AmericanMuscle.com.
