    Review & Install Video

The Raxiom HID upgrade kit is available for any 2008 or newer Mustang owner who has factory HIDs but is looking to pick up a brighter, crispier output that actually kind of has a blue hue to it. These are a pretty affordable version as well, just north of the hundred dollar mark, which isn't very common for aftermarket HIDs. The installation, as you can imagine, is as easy as changing a light bulb, so expect one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. The S550s equipped with factory HIDs do offer pretty decent lighting outputs, which is whiter than most factory bulbs. But like most things, there's always room for improvement. The factory bulbs have a color temperature of 4300K which is a pure white light, but you could always pick up a more attractive lighting that pushes the illumination a step farther for more sight lines at night. These Raxiom lights are rated at 6000K which is a brighter white with a hint of blue, giving them one of the more popular choices on the market. Now these are DS3 bulbs which are rated for 2,000 hours of continuous use, a little bit more than the factory ones which are DSRs. The difference being that DSRs have a thin overlay on the bulb which dims the light slightly, preventing maximum output. These are made to be brighter and the DS3 versions don't have any restrictions. They incorporate a flicker-free technology which is pretty self explanatory, but it basically means the light stays on without that annoying flicker you can sometimes get with aftermarket lights. These stay completely stationary and completely lit while the lights are on, and they're backed with Raxiom's three year warranty. You could pick up a pair for yourself for just over a hundred bucks, which in my opinion is a pretty good price considering most HIDs can cost a fortune. Not only are you getting a direct fit replacement, but they're safer and more reliable upgrades as well. Keep in mind that this only works for Mustangs that came with HIDs from the factory. If you've got halogens, you need to find an HID conversion kit before you can pick these up or they won't work by themselves. The installation is a no-brainer after all, so expect to be done in about 30 minutes in the driveway at home. You'll have to remove the front bumper to pull the headlights out in order to swap out the bulbs, but it's not too difficult so I will be still giving this one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. You wanna have a ratchet and basic socket set on deck, as well as a flat head screwdriver. You need to pop open you hood and remove the pushpins holding the radiator shroud on top and then a few bolts holding the bumper to the bumper support. There's a few pushpins in the front wheel wells that need to be removed, and then of course unplug the harness and pull the bumper off. From here, just unbolt the headlights and remove them from the positions, twist out and unplug the bulbs to swap them out for the 6000 case from Raxiom. Bolt the headlights back in, repeat for the opposite headlight. Put the bumper back on the vehicle after reconnecting the harnesses. Then you're good to go.Well that wraps up this overview and installation. So if you're the owner of a 2008 or newer Mustang with factory HIDs, you might wanna check out the Raxiom 6000K HID upgrade kit for your bulbs. And you can find them right here at

High Intensity Light. If you purchased your Mustang with the optional HID headlights or if your Mustang came stock already HID equipped, then you know finding a great replacement bulb at a decent price can be hard to come by. HID Bulb Replacement. These Vividline HID Bulbs produce a brilliant 6000K light, delivering a crisp, clean white light. There is a slight hue of blue and it's one of the most popular HID colors on the market. These D3S bulbs are rated at 2,000 hours of continuous use.

Easy Installation. Engineered to be a direct replacement for the factory bulbs, these HID Upgrades feature a plug and play design for a simple, hassle free installation. Not only are they easy to install, they feature a flicker free technology. Nothing is more annoying than having your beam of light bouncing around as you drive down the road. Upgrade with these Vividline HID bulbs and you'll have a bright, white stationary light to cut the darkness.

Application. This pair of 6000K Vividline HID Bulbs is specifically designed for use in 2010-2019 Mustangs that are equipped with factory HID headlights. Not compatible with halogen lights.

Please Note. This set of HID bulbs cannot be used as a halogen conversion, as ballasts are not included. If you have halogen headlights, you'll need to purchase an HID Kit to convert from halogen to HID.

    5 Top Rated Questions

Is this product actually an upgrade over the stock lights on a 2017? Looking at the product video and description it seems to bounce back and forth about whether these are a "same as stock" replacement, or a legitimate upgrade and a better/brighter bulb over stock.

    • These Vividline HID bulbs would be considered a replacement bulb, but an upgrade over non-HID headlights. Stock bulbs typically rate in between 5500K and 6000K, where these are rated at 6000K.

      Unhappy customer

I purchased a pair of these bulbs in December 2018, I paid a body shop on December 21, 2018 to take the front bumper off to install them as I watched. As of January 13, 2019 the bulb on the passenger side is completely not working....I’m sooo disappointed.

      Wish they were better.

I have had my bulbs in for about 6 months, they are supposed to have a blue hue, but the passenger side doesn’t. The bulb still works just no blue hue like the driver side. I am not sure why!

      Looks great but...

Had the bulbs in my car for maybe 2 months and one of them is out already. I hope I can get just one cause its gonna get old if I have to keep spending 120 dollars to replace bulbs that often.

Not as bright as I was expecting. Then having to take the whole front bumper just to change the lights. Like them but little to time consuming for just light swap
