Improved Braking. J&M Products Stainless Steel/Teflon-lined braided hoses provide better performance than the stock rubber hoses. These direct replacement D.O.T. certified rear hose assemblies provide much quicker braking response, firmer pedal feel, and better brake modulation than the original stock hoses.

Additional Safety. Stainless Steel Teflon Brake Hoses not only improve your braking performance, but they also provide additional safety over the stock rubber hoses that can fail or split under extended track use.

Better than OEM Quality. Every J&M hose is tested to 3000 psi to guarantee a leak free hose assembly. And best of all these hoses are made right here in the USA.

Application. These are not universal fit hoses you get at your local parts store, this set of two hoses are designed to be a direct fit OEM replacement for the rear of the 1999 to 2004 V6, GT, Bullitt, and Mach 1 Mustangs with the rear Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Stainless steel brake lines

I had both the Hawk ceramic pads and J&M steel braided brake lines installed front and rear. Install with fluid was $250. I took the time to bed the pads, and wasn't thrilled with the difference over stock at the time. But once everything cooled off and I drove it again, the difference was noticable. Not huge, but an improvement. Pedal is less spongy, and braking seems shorter but I can't measure that so its a guess.

    great upgrade !

i have installed these along with new rotors and Hawk performance ceramic brake pads about a month ago and i am very pleased with the results. to give you an idea; before installing these brake lines, in situations that required long and hard braking, i often felt like the braking power applied by my foot to the pedal, reaches a maximum (like a placebo effect) before it was applied to the pads and rotors. meaning it felt like after a certain amount of force that was applied to the pedal, the stopping power would not increase and the fluid pressure would only result in the expansion of the lines instead of applied pressure to pads and rotors. however after installing these i completely feel that all the power applied to the pedal is transformed and applied to the pads and rotors resulting in a much firmer pedal and great stopping power. and as always american muscle was fast and a great to deal with

    Solid product from J&M

I open track my car so the stock rubber lines werent cutting it anymore. By adding these lines it increased the firmness of the pedal which translates to better stopping power on the track.

    Works as advertised

This product was easy to install, I said afternoon only since when you are doing brakes its more than just the lines usually. Just remember to use the new washers on both ends and don't forget them! I kept loosing pressure in the lines only to come back and see a small puddle of brake fluid under one of the lines. Other than that they make the brakes feel better than stock.

    nice addition

I put the J&M Stainles lines on with a full Bullitt brake package and the change is highly noticeable. A much more reassuring feel when I hit the brakes hard.

    Cheap Product that Doesn't Fit

Compared to the Maximum Motorsports brake lines on the front that I have these aren't as high quality. It also seemed that the machined surface on the inside of the hard brake line to stainless steel line wasn't properly made. Once installed these leaked badly at that point and no matter how tight I got them I couldn't fix the leaks. Infact I tightened the brass fitting on the driver side so tight, that it stretched the threads and I couldn't get the stock rubber lines back on. They also do not come with instructions, or supporting hardware (crush washers)

    • Response from AmericanMuscle

It sounds like the line has a defect and that's why it's leaking. We haven't had issue with these J&M lines in the past. Give us a call when you get a moment so we can help correct this for you!

Should come with copper crush washers!!!

The pedal feels slightly better at best but that's me probably being optimistic, it's practically the same. They do look great, however fitment was perfect. The only complaint I have is that they do not come with copper crush washers, which was a nightmare trying to find the exact right ones for the calipers.

    great addition

This is a quality product, however I ran into a problem. I have a 99 V6 w/ ABS and my PR brake line has a distribution block on it. Neither of these lines have that block I need. I dont know if its because I have a early 99(Feb) or what the deal is, but Im having a hard time trying to make these lines work.
