Hey, what's going on guys? Adam here with americanmuscle.com. Today I'm bringing you a detailed review of the Anderson Composites Type-AE mesh upper grille in carbon fiber fitting all 2015 and newer Mustangs. In this video, I'll be going over the styling and appearance you can expect when picking up the upper mesh grille from Anderson Composites as well as the makeup and construction given the nature of its carbon fiber materials. I'll even walk you through the installation which I'll tell you up front will get a one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, something anybody can do with a little bit of time in the driveway at home. Let's jump right into it. The Anderson Composites Type-AE upper mesh grille in the carbon fiber finish is going to be for the guys out there with the 2015 and newer Mustangs looking to switch up the front end appearance of their Pony to really stand out from the pack while giving it a modern twist with a mesh styling and a carbon fiber finish. This Type-AE upper mesh grille from Anderson Composites offers a very unique styling to the front end of your Mustang switching up that factory three window design from Ford to give it a more aggressive appearance with a honeycomb style mesh grille that's actually removable. So if you want to take that out, you definitely can. Trimmed by a carbon fiber 100% real finish to give it that extra show car quality appearance. Just to reiterate again, that middle portion here with the honeycomb style mesh is definitely going to be made of an ABS plastic very durable to stand up against the elements and all year round usage which is removable. If you want to take this out and have a very open style grille, you can definitely do that as well. Bordering this you'll see a 100% real carbon fiber makeup. Definitely high gloss on the outside to really accentuate the infused weave we would all expect when looking at a carbon fiber part. One thing I do want to point out that is upgrading to this mesh style design, you can actually slightly improve your airflow to the engine bay. It's not going to make a world of difference giving you any type of power gains that are noticeable, but you can see that this one will actually bring in a little bit more air because you are eliminating that three window design that kind of blocks off just a slight amount of airflow. Again, you actually have the option to remove that honeycomb mesh styling to really open everything up. Again, no real power gains here, just to help cooling capacities with the engine bay itself which of course is always beneficial. Price wise if you are interested in picking up the upper mesh grille from Anderson Composite in the carbon fiber finish, expect to be spending just north of $400. That is going to be a little bit steep for just an upper mesh grille alone for the S550, but you've got to take into consideration it is a real carbon fiber part with a removable middle mesh grille. Definitely switches up the appearance of the factory S550 3 window design giving you a lightweight, very durable constructed part here which will slightly improve your airflow. There's a lot of bang for your buck if you're willing to go that extra mile. Switching gears over to the installation portion of the video, I do want to point out again this one is going to be a simple installation, something anybody can do with a little bit of time in the driveway at home. It will, however, require you to remove that front bumper. Of course, if you don't feel comfortable doing that given it's a body part, no shame handing it over to the professionals to get it done properly. To kick things off if you are taking care of this one yourself, you'll start by popping the hood removing that radiator cover and the bolts underneath it holding the front fascia in place. After those bolts are removed, you'll have to unclip the bumper from under the tires in the front wells and then again just pull that off very gently. You want to make sure you unplug your lighting harness as well so you don't pull that off with it. Once you get that factory front fascia out, you'll want to place it face down on a towel or something protective to make sure you don't damage the paint on the cement. Once you get that factory front fascia off, you can start removing the factory upper grille by removing those clips, pulling that one out and simply just placing in this carbon fiber option from Anderson Composites and replacing those factory clips back into place. You're good to go as soon as you put everything back together the same way you took it off. Definitely not a terrible job. Like I said, one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter all around, maybe an hour or two in the driveway at home. Trying to get that front bumper off may make it a little more difficult but still good enough to get the one out of three.Just to quickly wrap things up, guys, if you're the owner of a 2015 or newer Mustang and you're looking for a way to spice up the front end profile of your S550 giving it a very modern aggressive show car appearance, check out the Anderson Composites Type-AE upper mesh grille in the carbon fiber finish available right here at americanmuscle.com.
