Description
High-Performance Flywheel. The ACT XACT Prolite Steel Flywheel with 157 teeth is designed to reduce rotating mass for quicker throttle response and improved acceleration. It is ideal for road and rally racing applications where weight reduction and engine responsiveness are critical. This flywheel enhances driving dynamics by lowering inertia while maintaining strength and durability.
Construction and Appearance. Crafted from heat-treated Chromoly steel, this flywheel features a one-piece forged and CNC-machined design that ensures maximum strength and rigidity. Its induction-hardened ring gear provides extended longevity, and the balanced construction supports smooth operation at high RPMs. The friction surface diameter measures 10.5 inches (267 mm), optimized for performance clutches.
Installation. Installation is moderately straightforward and requires no additional drilling, fitting directly to compatible engines. Proper resurfacing is possible to maintain the correct flywheel step and ensure optimal clutch function without additional parts.
Warranty. This product includes a 12-month warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Application. Designed specifically for the 1979 to 1995 5.0L Mustang, providing a precise fit for these models and engine configurations without modification requirements.
