Peace of Mind. When replacing or upgrading your Mustang's clutch you have two options, resurfacing your old stock flywheel, or getting a brand new flywheel. A new flywheel is a much better choice than resurfacing, as it will dictate how well your new clutch will perform, as well as how long it will last.

Aluminum Construction. Manufactured from aluminum for light weight, this McLeod Flywheel features a ring gear of 157 teeth, with a six bolt main pattern. Aluminum flywheels are perfect for force inducted applications where rapid RPM levels are desired.

SFI Certified. If you're using this flywheel in high performance or racing applications, SFI Certification is critical so you can run your Pony at the track or strip. And it's great for peace of mind even in a daily driver - at higher RPMs, stock cast flywheels have been known to explode.

Weights Included. The McLeod Flywheel includes a 28oz and a 50oz flywheel weight so you can add the correct weight for your specific engine balance.

Application. This McLeod Flywheel fits the 1986-1995 LX 5.0, GT and 1993-1995 SVT Cobra Mustangs equipped with the 5.0L V8 engine and is the perfect companion to your new McLeod Clutch.

Technical Note. If you are replacing a Flywheel on a stock application, it would be best to use a 50 ounce flywheel. If the Flywheel will be used on a modified/bored and stroked application a 28 ounce would be ideal. If you are having your engine rebuilt and are unsure what Flywheel to get, please contact your engine builder to confirm which Flywheel is necessary for your application as you have to match the engine's Harmonic Balancer weight with the Flywheel.

Revs up way faster the burnouts are way easier and it moves up in the mph better too full day install for me bc I had to fight the bearing to remove it but it’s usually only a 2-3 hour job

            Excellent craftsmanship

This flywheel is amazing comes nicely packaged with detailed instructions the correct updated weights and even brand new dowl pins. I can definitely tell the difference in the way the engine revs up from the stick weight flywheel, driveable you and engagement is no different to me from the stock weight flywheel even tho I've read lots of people saying it was much different to engage it's not.

Buyer Beware- Wrong weights being sent out in kits

Been working on a buddy's foxbody and have attempted to install one of these on this 302. To make a long story short, if the weights in your kit does not sit flush because the friction plate bolts do not allow it to sit flush, you have the wrong weights in your kit!!! Just got off the phone with McLeod and they stated the earlier versions of the kit came with a riveted removable friction plate. The NEWer version of this flywheel comes with a bolted on friction plate (makes it easier to remove) and requires a NEWer version weight specifically machined to clear the friction bolts in order for the weight to lay flat. McLeod stated that some of the OLD STYLE weights got thrown in the boxes of the NEWer version flywheels. If you manage to get stuck in the same predicament, call McLeod and they will ship out the newer version of the weight for free. DO NOT try to modify the bolts (cut/grind) that keep the weight from laying flat as this will throw off the balance of the flywheel and could cause a vibration (per Mcleod).

            Nice Flywheel

Installed with McLeod street extreme clutch. You can feel the faster revs. Much lighter than steel!

            Great Replacement

This flywheel appears to be of high quality. Just put it in and had no problems. Used the 50 oz weight for my '95 Mustang GT.

I installed this along with a new clutch and while the overall installation took much longer than anticipated, difficulties with dropping and raising the exhaust delayed the effort, the installation of the flywheel was a breeze. I'm looking forward to giving my car a real test after the 500 mile break in period.
