Justin from AmericanMuscle.com, we're here with Chris Thompson from Airaid. He stopped by the shop to tell us a little more about these great Airaid products. We're very familiar with Airaid; we use them on our project cars with great success. Chris, what can you tell us about Airaid that makes it so unique? "Everything we do is digitally designed. It's engineered to fit, it's engineered to work, it's engineered to work without any special tuning. Now, tuning is much, much better. You guys offer a lot of great choices in aftermarket tuning. It'll only enhance the performance of the Mustang. We design our intakes so there's no special gluing required, there's no cutting or hacking of the engine required. If somebody decided to put a stock intake back on, they don't have to go back to Ford to buy another part to put the piece back on. Every intake we do is digitally designed. It's all about the design of the airflow and the linear charge to the throttle body. We use the rotational molding not so much for the heat soaking, but for the shape of the tube we can come up with. By using the rotational molding, it allows us to really give the right shape and form to make sure the product works well." We're very excited—we've got our 2013 Mustang here, probably not even 10 miles on this thing yet, and we already have an Airaid intake on it. Tell us a little more about that. "This is awesome. We're really excited to be here today. This is the first Airaid intake on a 2013 Mustang. We're really excited to be here with you guys. As you can see it fits. We know for sure it fits. We believe we have a hit. We'll do a little bit more testing on it before we release it to the public, but that should happen anytime now." Now, you were telling me earlier, you're working with some legends in the Mustang world. "Well, we're excited about working with Parnelli Jones and his son PJ. Parnelli's been instrumental in helping us come along with the Boss 302 intakes we're trying to develop. Nobody knows the heritage of the Boss 302 better than Parnelli Jones. We worked with PJ on the side by side utility vehicles (Razors, Rhinos, and TRX's). We also sponsored him in the past on his endeavors in the American Le Mans Series, which he ran last year." Chris, thank you so much for educating us on your great Airaid products. And as always, you can find those great Airaid products right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Will not fit 75mm tb blade too big
Bought this to compliment my BBK 75mm throttle body and the throttle body blade is too big for the hole in the spacer. Will not open the blade hits the edges of the spacer. ONLY WORKS WITH STOCK THROTTLE BODY. Very disappointed !Helpful (6)

Install was very easy just follow the instructions carefully and you should have zero issues. The sound is by far the best part of this product. I absolutely love the sound but there are no noticeable changes in power, slight change in throttle response. All in all for sure buy this product it is well worth it. I did come into one issue was one of the hoses connecting to my intake became to short after the spacer went in. A little tape made it to auto shop where they didn't charge me for the hose.Helpful (9)

Definitely one of the cheap bolt ons that you can actually tell the difference in low end power. The sound is just a bonus!Helpful (6)
how much of a power gain will this spacer give a stock 4.6L ?
Spacers vary on the application, the claim to fame is circling air compresses better this more air=more power. throttle body give a neat little whistle when you push the throttle, but as far as power it will be minimal, max 8-10 hp, one thing to be happy about i have seen on more than one occasion 1-3 MPG increase, so all in all that can pay for itself over time
will this spacer fit with an accufab 75mm throttle body ?
This throttle body spacer is intended to be used with the stock throttle body only. It complements the stock bore (mm) sizing. An aftermarket throttle body would have a larger bore size, the Accufab being 75mm for example, and the spacer would actually decrease potential power gains! If you have the upgraded throttle body, you wouldn't need this spacer.
Why will it not fit a 96-98 gt?
The only one available for a 96-98 GT is https://www.americanmuscle.com/mu4gtinsp1.html
Will this have any gain with a K N drop in cone filter with stock intake and TB? Also, will a strut tower bar fit with this spacer installed?
You shouldn't find any issues in terms of fitment of a strut tower brace with this spacer involved. You will certainly see gains as well, however the more bolt on performance modifications you have, the less this spacer will actually offer gains quite simply due to it being outperformed. I also need to confirm that this is specifically designed to work with a stock throttle body so it will not work with an aftermarket throttle body. I would suggest getting a throttle body upgrade over this piece if you plan on sticking on as many bolt ons as possible.
I saw the video and i heard its meant to fit the factory throttle body. My Mustang is a 2000 4.6L GT and I bought it with a BBK throttle body install in it will it be able to fit or would I have to get myself a factory throttle body?
Aftermarket throttle bodies will not work with this unit as it is designed specifically to use with the stock throttle body.
This spacer can be used with the JLT cold air intake. The spacer itself will sit behind the factory throttle body so you can essentially use any aftermarket cold air intake with it.
Yes, the Airaid Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer is smog legal! The CARB EO Number is D-609-3.
The Airaid Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer is designed to fit 1999 to 2004 4.6L GT Mustangs with a factory throttle body still installed.
The Airaid Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer will not fit an 04 Mach 1. It will only fit a 99-04 GT with the factory GT Throttle Body.
That is more of a preference, more power can be gained with larger throttle bodies over a throttle body spacer.
Unfortunately, while this does have the ability to fit onto the manifold and throttle body of the 96-98 mustang GT, we cannot guarantee the fitment for anything other than the 99-04 mustang GTs.
Unfortunately, the Airaid Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer is intended and designed to work with the factory 65mm throttle body meaning this will not work with the upgraded throttle body you currently have installed.
Hi, The the diameter is 65mm.
This unfortunately not fit in a 1996 Mustang as the throttle body spacer is located in a different place on the 1994-1998 models.
This spacer is made for use only with the stock throttle body. It is not advised to use an aftermarket throttle body with it
