Description
Premium Fiberglass Hood. The Anderson Composites Type-TM Hood; Unpainted offers a lightweight, performance-oriented replacement for the stock hood. Designed to enhance vehicle cooling and reduce weight, this hood features a functional heat extractor vent to help manage under-hood temperatures effectively.
Construction and Appearance. Crafted using a vacuum-infused fiberglass cloth process, this hood provides consistent strength and a uniform weave pattern. It comes with a durable primer finish, ready for sanding, priming, and custom painting according to preference.
Installation. Installation requires moderate skill, with minor adjustments possibly needed to ensure optimal fitment. The hood mounts using original equipment (OE) hardware, which is not included. It does not require drilling when installed correctly. For safety, hood pins and a heat shield are required. Gas struts are not recommended for reinstallation due to the potential for excessive pressure on the composite hood.
Application. This hood fits 1997-2004 Chevrolet Corvette C5 models, including Base, Z06, and 50th Anniversary editions, ensuring direct replacement compatibility with factory mounting points.
