        It fits

It fills up the place where the smaller stock pump was and runs quieter.

        Great replacement

I've done fuel pump replacements before and this one was no different. Fit perfectly as expected. The pump itself is quieter than my old one and I have had no issues at all since installation.

        Fuel pump

Man do I hate dropping the gas tank... This kit made it easy by including every piece that I needed. The pump started right up and is still doing its job in my mustang.

        Excellent product superior to stock

. My 95 stang got to the point everytime I started it had to turn key 4 times (which broke the key mechanism inside the wheel and required steering wheel and shaft removal, 2 days to fix). It was the fuel puimp, kept leaking down. I replaced with this one and problem solved, starts right up. And that trademark mustang fuel pump whine is gone from rear of car. Installation is a bear, you have to drop the fuel tank, lots of support online though for that operation. Takes about 4 hours for the novice, I would plan on Sat and Sun if total newb. If I had to do it again, probably 2 hours maybe 3.. As for performance gain, well, I didnt have any but Im totally stock, I guess if you have mods that need more flow or pressure this might help. I wanted a quality replacement for a roken stock pump at a good cost that would last forever, so I chose this.

        5 1996 GT - Jon

        Great Value

Bought this to replace my failed stock pump in my 96 GT. Stock replacement from Autozone was $110 and did not include the $40 filter sock... Would definitely recommend buying a new Gas Tank Filler seal (PN 9072 from Ford) and replace it at the same time. Car runs very well now. It had a sligh stumble after install, untill the computer learned the new pump, now smooth and ready for more mods. If you're planning to supercharge/turbo/nitros go with the 255 LPH.

      4 Top Rated Questions

Says for 86-97 all V8's why not for a 98 cobra? Is the fuel pump design different from 97 to 98?

      • The design is slightly different in the 98 Cobra which can cause fitment issues with this fuel pump kit.

I'm not sure what fuel pump I have in my 96 mustang gt. I would assume it's stock. I was wanting to replace it. As far as modding goes; I deleted the cats, and it runs to flowmasters super 40's series with turn downs before axle. 70mm Throttle body, cold air intake, 86mm BBK MAF sensor. As well as I planned on getting the SR Performance upper intake plenum. Will this pump be fine to supply the demands for these? If in the future I wanted to get small cams. Comp cams stage 2 268h.

      • The stock pump should be able to keep up with those mods just fine so this pump would certainly be more than enough.

I am looking to replace my current broken stock fuel pump. My car is almost all stock and I am wondering if I should be going with this or a 110 LPH pump instead. Any advice would be great thanks.

      • Considering you Mustang is only stock, where the BBK Electric Fuel Pump Kit - 190 LPH (86-97 V8) may technically work for you, you would actually be overcompensating the fuel. I would suggest going with a stock replacement. However, if you are planning to start modifying your Mustang in the near future, I would stick with this BBK fuel pump.

would i need a chip for this pump?

      • No. Its just helping flow fuel better over stock. You would need a chip if you upgraded injectors.
