Will this x pipe work on a 2001 Mustang that has been 5.0 swapped?

      • This BBK Off-Road X-Pipe is designed for the 79-93 5.0L w/ Long Tube Headers. I am not sure if you are looking for the x-pipe for a 2001 Mustang with the 5.0 coyote swap, or the earlier generation 5.0's. We do have an x-pipe for the coyote swaps, item number 56141, which are to be used with item number 56139, the BBK Chrome Coyote 5.0L Swap Long Tube Headers. If you were perhaps looking to use the earlier generations 5.0, that would require a custom exhaust, as we do not carry an exhaust for that application.

fitment May be a dumb question as it says they will bolt up to bbk long tubes no problem will they fit mac long tubes without issues or leaks as well?

      • While it should fit, it may not be without some modifications for a perfect fit. The BBK Long Tubes and this BBK Shorty X are designed to mate up without issue. Using mis-matched brands for Long Tubes is where precise fitment can sometimes require some more effort to complete the installation. Hope this helps!

          Worth the money

Great product overall. I recently got the catted X-Pipe and not with my BBK long tube headers and still wasn't what I expected so I purchased these and man what a difference all the way from sound and performance. Nice race car sound. I'd recommend these to anybody for there race application. Bolts right in the only thing I was confused about is they didn't come with exhaust hangers and the factory puts the port for the air pump just like stock so it leaves you with a open port. Obviously it's an off road piece so I'd assume that you'd eliminate the air pump overall but it's more for emissions I guess. I just plugged the port with a rubber hose and a bolt.

          Perfect For Your Build

Installed these on my 86 in conjunction with BBK chrome long tubes, and dynomax race bullets all behind an AFR headed 306. sounds amazing, the welds were good quality, only thing i could have asked for was for this to have been made of 409 stainless as opposed to the aluminized steel BBK tends to use. one thing of note, if you no longer use a smog pump and got rid of the lines for the pump, you will have to plug the tube coming out of the pipe. I cut the smog pump tube flush and welded a washer to the pipe, then welded the washer closed, and haven had any issues.
