So besides it “saying” it won’t fit a v6 in all seriousness would t work with bbk long tubes I plan on putting?

    • This x-pipe will not fit a V6 model, regardless of what type of headers are installed.

What is the difference between this x-pipe and the discontinued BBK 16365 x-pipe?

    • The difference between this x-pipe and the BBK 16365 would be a different material. This mid pipe is made of aluminized steel and the other x-pipe is made of stainless steel.

If these are paired with the Kooks 1-5/8 in. x 2.5 in. Stainless Steel Long Tube Headers for a 2007 v6, would they fit? And also, would the sound from the Kooks 2.5 in. Catted H-Pipe be the same/as loud as it would with an x pipe?

    • The BBK Off-Road X-Pipe are designed to work with the BBK 1-5/8 in. Ceramic Long Tube Headers, item # 56038, (https://www.americanmuscle.com/bbk-ceramic-headers-2005.html). They will not bolt up correctly with any other aftermarket exhaust components.

Will this fit on a v6

    • Hello! This BBK Off-Road X-Pipe will only fit a GT

So by the description and previous questions asked, this is obviously meant to be matched with the BBK ceramic LT headers for a 05-09 GT.. my question is, will this work with Borla Atak cat back exhaust? The tubing for this is a 1/4th inch bigger than the Borla Atak cat backs. Just wondering if exhaust shops will be able to make this combo work.

    • The BBK Off-Road X-Pipe for long tube headers is designed to work with stock cat-backs, and the Borla ATAK Cat-Back Exhaust (item #29029) is also designed to fit with the stock mid pipe. So, being that they are designed to fit their stock counterparts, it's safe to say they will work together! I will post the link to the Borla cat-back in question below: https://www.americanmuscle.com/borla-atak-catback-0509gt.html

Do I need the o2 sensor extensions that come with the bbk long tube headers along with the ones that come with the bbk shorty xpipe?? I bought a used set of the bbk long tube headers for my 07 gt from a good friend of mine and the only thing he was missing was the o2 sensor extensions so I planning on buying some but I noticed that the BBK off road shorty xpipe Im buying comes with o2 extensions and it looks to me that both parts come with their own set of the o2 extensions. do I need both or are the extensions that come with this xpipe enough? If that makes sense haha. Thanks! 2 answers

A must with long tube headers

X-pipe was packaged well, welds look good, did have to stretch the inlets apart for installation and had to pry the O2 bungs apart to install my O2 sensor foolers.

      Wonderful

If you want that raspy racecar growl, this is for you. May have to modify for fitment but hey that is what a mustang enthusiast does right?

      Headers and X-pipe

This combination is very nice! For those that have not tried it be prepared to get a tuner that will adjust for these. Once all is done and tuned you should see a noticable power increase. I already had a twin 62mm throttle body and a CandL 95mm cold air kit. All of these together work very well. Now I need an intake and camshafts. I recommend using a lift as I can tell you it is not easy with the car on stands. The X-pipe was not an exact fit to the headers but was not difficult to get lined up. Bolts for the collector to X-pipe could a half inch longer and that would help a great deal. All in all I'm glad I did it.

      love that nasty sound.

I paired this with Borla Atak exhaust and BBK long tube headers. It's the loudest I've ever heard and I get constant complements on my exhaust.

      Prices of returning them.

I read few rivers stating that they had to bend the xpipe to get it to fit on both sides. I figured it wouldn't happen to me. Unfourtunately it did, I didn't want to deal with it so I'm returning it. I ordered the catted Xpipe instead which fit in perfectly.

      Great product, poor manufacturing.

Sounds great! I had to cut the hangers off and place them in the proper location. This should be brought to BBK's attention. 4 hrs. long tube header and o/r x-pipe install. With a lift that is.

Problems but got it to work

After having a shop install the headers and X-Pipe I noticed after a couple days a rattle coming from the floorboard of the drivers side. It turns out the hanger (which I assume is for auto trans since they don't hang from anywhere on manual) was hitting the floorboard. Had to go back to my shop and problem was solved by flipping the X-Pipe 180 degrees.

I paired this x-pipe with bbk headers and bassani axle backs and it sounds sinister! It backfires every time I downshift: it definitely turn heads. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants to raise the decibels on their stang by 150
