            Not Worth It

            ZERO instructions and what is online does not match. I ended up using CA glue to secure this but, the material is very thick and stiff so getting a perfect fit to patients and time. Getting the factory rings to fit, well, that took 3 hours, steam and a few beers. I installed the park brake cover also and feel that I wasted my money. It came out great but I have over 5 hours in this. Maybe state in the description that no instructions are included and exact fitment takes a dremel to thin the leather and a steamer to get the upper rings to fit.

            Easy install, looks great!

            Easy install. Have super glue handy to glue this to the factory bezel. Be SUPER careful when removing factory bezel. It is easy to break.

            Better than the original

            I would give it 5 stars but there was no clue as to the best way to mount it. It does not naturally fit without some sort of a clamp... which no one knows about. So I used a wire bundle strap and it works okay. Takes an afternoon considering removing the factory boot, cleaning off the dried glue, re-gluing, drying time and mounting. Count on at least one mounting clip to give you fits getting the boot retainer off and on. AM boot better than factory boot.

            Nice mod, tedious installation

            This is the shift boot that should have been installed at the factory. It is a high quality piece and improves the look of the interior. Installation is tedious. Removing the vinyl boot is easy (Exacto knife, take your time). Clean up the plastic frame takes some time because the old connection points retain some fabric and plastic that should be removed for a good bond. The 'premium' interior has a plastic dish and insert at the top that has to be reused and the boot must be trimmed to fit. It took a lot of trial and error fitting to get it just right. No glue, just friction holds this in place. Glue is optional, imo. Like others, I used a hot glue gun and a bunch of binder clips (thanks, Office Max!) to clamp the boot in place. Put the binder clips on first and remove one to glue the leather and put the clip back on to hold the leather in place. Move to the next one. Moisturize the leather after installation. It is pretty dry and it softens up nicely with some leather conditioner. Took me almost 2 hours to get it done - being very cautious and careful.

            Boot for Short Shifter

            It works for a short shifter but it doesn't fit perfectly at the top. Held it together with a rubber band and covered the rubber band with a black scrunchie so it doesn't look weird.

            Mixed Bag

            So many conflicting thoughts on this item. I will just hit the highlights. Definitely a pain in the butt to get installed properly. To get the trim ring off without breaking things, carefully use a set of needle-nose pliers on the trim ring right next the last 1 or 2 tabs to rotate the ring back to its proper orientation and use your other hand to slip the ring off the tabs. Gluing the new boot onto the trim ring is pretty easy and straight forward although I recommend using a hot glue gun. The top of the boot is a major problem. I saw several pictures of this boot installed and none matched my preferences exactly. The boot I received has a very small diameter opening not at all similar to my factory boot. I put the factory retainer ring directly on the shifter and then put the new boot in place and put the center console together. I pulled the boot down tight over the ring, then I started cutting small amounts of leather off of the top until I could roll the leather into the ring and screwed the shift boot retainer that came with my aftermarket shift knob into place to hold the boot up. I have no idea whether to recommend this piece or not. It is purely for appearance but is a very low visibility item. Even the driver won't see it much since you won't be staring at it while you are driving. If you are obsessed with tiny details, then at $60 it has some bang for your buck. If it is not you and you plan on doing it yourself, then spend the money on something else. As for the fit rating, how well it fits depends entirely on your standards and how good you are at making it fit the way you want.

            White stitching shift boot

            Made from great quality and cut perfect to fit the plastic holding bracket. Love that this boot now matches the rest of my white stitching interior. Couldn't be happier with this product and Americanmuscle with their as always speedy delivery!

            Nice Look, Patience Required

            The boot looks very good. Nice quality leather and the red stitching is also visually pleasing. This boot, just like the e-brake counterpart, ship without the plastic ring attached to it so you'lol have to remove your old boot off from the ring. Didn't have a hot glue available (which I recommend more) but did have Gorilla Glue. Long story short, I ended up ruining the boot due to excess glue on one side so I had to get rid of it.. Also broke some of the plastic on the chrome retainer. E-brake managed to survive my handiwork so that's a plus. If you order this, be patient, take your time, and pay attention to how much glue you use. If you have a hot glue gun use that instead. My recommendation to AM is shop these with the plastic ring already attached to them.

            Lots of fiddling but worth it

            The clip design underneath is ReDickulous and takes a little bit of patience. However... End result is an eye appealing pleasant upgrade. Note: use of the spacer is NOT necessary as you can see from my pic. I like mine like this.

            Review from Alterum Premium Black Leather Shift Boot - Red Stitching (10-14 All)

            Nice Upgrade

            This is another nice interior upgrade from stock. I didn't realize how cheezy the stock shift boot was until I put this one in. The install was time consuming but not too hard. Getting the trim ring removed from the console was the worst part. Several of the tabs that hold it in just didn't want to push back. I ended up breaking 2 or 3 of them, but it's not really an issue. Although the instructions I found on the AM website said to use super-glue to attach the boot to the trim ring, I used a hot glue gun instead. Worked just fine. I didn't want to take a chance of getting super-glue on the boot where it might show and my fingers never got stuck together once! I did have to cut quite a bit off the top of the boot to make it short enough that it didn't cause the shifter to bind. But once I got everything just right, it looked great. Of course you'll want to do the emergency brake boot at the same time. They might just as well be sold as a pair.

            Looks nice when done.

            This product is just the boot. You will have to tear yours off of the plastic ring and use some kind of adhesive to attach it back to the plastic ring. You will also need to cut the top of the boot and force on the ring if you have the stock shifter still. I personally wouldnt do it again. I would find a white stiched one that has the plastic ring on the bottom already.

            Good product, slightly large, good quality.

            Overall this shifter boot is good quality. Should take you less than 20-30 min to install if you take your time and do it right. Overall the boot is cut slightly large if you have an aftermarket shifter or a shifter knob with retainer, I think the fit would be perfect with the stock shifter knob however. A bottle of superglue is required for the install.
