Harder Launches. Stock stamped steel control arms are fine for the average driver. But for high performance on the track, you'll need more strength and consistency to launch hard, corner well and finish strong. BMR Suspension offers a perfect solution with this On-Car Adjustable Upper Control Arm with Polyurethane Bushings. Eliminate that dreaded wheel hop from your 2005-2010 Mustang and enjoy improved traction with this heavy duty, red powder coated replacement.

Quality Construction. Proudly made in the USA, BMR constructs this On-Car Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arm with MIG-welded 1 5/8" DOM steel tubing. The tube adapters are CNC machined from chromoly steel with rolled threads to ensure the highest levels of strength and durability. Its heavy duty construction aids in the elimination of control arm flex and delivers more stable, concise cornering and overall handling.

Greasable Bushings. Get rid of those soft rubber bushings installed from the factory, as they deflect under load and absorb the power meant for your tires. BMR utilizes 2" polyurethane bushings that are internally fluted and greasable. Even under heavy loads, the fluting keeps grease inside the bushing and also directs it to the outer edges to maintain a lubricated thrust surface. This design results in quieter, more reliable and longer lasting performance.

Recommended Upgrade. It's highly recommend to upgrade your factory UCA mounting bracket to a BMR Rear Upper Control Arm Mount when installing this Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arm on a S197 Mustang. Failure to do so may result in a loud clunking noise without the upgraded mount installed.

Application. This red BMR Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arm with Poly Bushing is specifically designed for all 2005-2010 Mustangs, including V6, GT, Bullitt and GT500 models.

what type of grease should i use ??

    HermeR

    • The best grease to use on all polyurethane bushings would be any lithium based grease. (example: white lithium grease)

what differential bearing can I use? will the Steeda spherical one work? does BMR offer one that does not reuse the shell of old bearing? I would rather remove and replace the whole bushing on axle.

    CosmicRocket

    • The BMR Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arm can be used with any upper control arm bushings. BMR does offer a poly bushing for this under the part number EN001 which we do not offer at this time, though this does reuse the OEM bushing shell.

Review from BMR Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arm - Poly Bushing (05-10 All)

      Much Needed Item

Got this to finish up rear end suspension upgrade (replaced LCA's, PH bar, PHB brace w\ all BMR hammertone\red poly parts, sway bar bushings w\ red poly bushings and installed Steeda Frame Rail and Torque Box connectors to stiffen up the LCA front mounts) on my Stang. Installed the BMR UCA mount at the same time. Install was straightforward but time consuming....biggest issue was getting the gas tank to drop down low enough to allow removal of old mount bracket\install of new BMR mount bracket even w\ both straps completely disconnected. Ended up having to remove the Rt side exhaust piping from axleback thru to the M-80 muffler (have Pypes Super Bomb Mid-Muffler catback exhaust installed...gas tank was sitting on the M-80 mufflers w\ over axle piping resting on the BMR PHB brace holding tank...only needed another 1\4" of clearance for bracket to clear unibody....that's how good the Pypes catback setup fits!) to allow the gas tank to drop the additional 1\4" to clear the mounting bracket! Loaded suspension then set pinion angle to -2 (found this was way off prior) so the rear end is now very tight and solid and the power transfer to ground is very crisp and solid w\ no sponginess....big improvement! Love it!

      07 automatic DD

This will help with the rear in traction along with the lower control arms. Solid construction. A bit of a pain in my car. The rear seat needed to be pulled up to get to the uppr mount bolt and the saddle style gas tank straps needed to be loosened up. A local shop did the work for me. They also set the pinion angle to 2 to provide less tire slip. Now i just have to get the rest of my rear end parts. ;) I know AM will be more than happy to send them. The prices on AM is hard to beat. The site is also great to use.

      Good looking part

Bought for my 09 GT500. Had previously put on a control arm with a sphere joint and hated the noise it made. Replaced it with this one and am so much more happier. Good solid part that looks just as good. Needed the adjustable to set my pinion angle. Install is a bit tricky just cause there isn't much room to work in that area.

Review from BMR Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arm - Poly Bushing (05-10 All)

No More Clunking/Rattling In the Rear

The more important thing to know about replacing the factory upper rear control arm and mount is that this will fix the clunking you have in the rear that sounds like this: When you are driving over large bumps, there is no noise. However, when you go over small (sometimes minuscule) imperfections in the road, you can hear a clunking or rattling in the rear. This is the sign of a worn out rear upper control arm and/or mount. As for the install, it took me about 3 hours on jack stands in the garage. The hardest part was lowering the gas tank - I had to loosen the oversized T50 bolts and then physically actually pull the gas tank down before it would budge. I did not have the oversized T50 which is apparently sold only by Snap-On but I was able to carefully use a regular T50 with success (it was smaller so I had to be very careful). My stang is a high mileage restoration and I have had trouble with some of the bolts in the past (rear sway bar was the worst) but the bolts on these parts came off relatively easily. Overall, the product seemed to be of slightly higher quality than the OEM one and the car does seem slightly more firmly planted. I highly recommend for anyone putting in a one-piece driveshaft or who wants to fix incredibly annoying horrible rear clunk-rattle.

      Should be original equipment

My original control arms began squeaking and I knew it was time to upgrade. I am still amazed at how much better the car rides and no rear end hop. The wheels are planted to the pavement. Hey Ford engineers? Are you reading this?

      Bracket and UCA

I had a terrible clunking in the car from several places...I bought the car used from a ford dealer that couldn't figure out where the clunking was coming from???!!!! So, I got under the car and on some good forums. The original bushings were shot, the aftermarket UCA had the step down washers installed backwards...Anyway, installed new bracket and UCA and the car is as it should be...perfect!

Review from BMR Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arm - Poly Bushing (05-10 All)

      Great Product

I bought this upper control arm after I purchased the BMR lwc along with the relocating brackets. This control arm is so much beefier than the factory one. The installation was pretty simple and straight forward. Only took about an hour and a half using a lift, would defitently be a little bit more of a pain doing it on jack stands. I have a 08 GT and needed the special T50 socket from Snap On to lower the tank, so make sure you have the right tools to do it before. Overall, the car hooks up alot better and I would defitently recommend doing this.

      BMR Adjustable UCA

I lowered my car via Eibach shocks/struts/springs. With the change in pinion angle, I needed an adjustable upper control arm. BMR's quality is second to none. I installed their UCA along with the mount and LCA's. The UCA mount is a pain but it's doable on jack stands. May take some time to lower the gas tank, but it's worth it. I ordered new OEM bolts from Ford to ensure my install would be top notch. I highly recommend BMR's suspension products. AM and BMR is a great combination!

      Nice upgrade over stock unit

I bought this and the BMR lowers to help with my wheel hop situation, and together they eliminated it. I wish I had gotten the bracket and a new bushing for the rear end as well though. Something to consider when buying this product.

      Vast improvement over stock!

While I'm happy with this product I have had a hard time getting the "jam nuts" tightened after I've adjusted the "pinion angle". The install was very involved (I installed the mount at the same time) but can be done in an afternoon with some patience. Much more durable than the stock unit and am pleased with the quality of the product I just wish there was an easier way to tighten the "jam nuts" (they are 1-1/2" nuts by the way).
