      Description

      Increased Clearance. This BMR Suspension Tubular K-member was designed to provide more clearance for both aftermarket headers and turbo systems allowing easier installation and maintenance.

      Tubular Construction. Made in the USA from steel tubing for superior strength and rigidity, this BMR K-Member is 18lbs lighter than the stock unit and is completed in a durable black hammer-tone powdercoat finish for great looks and long life.

      Bolt-on Design. Installing a BMR tubular K-member may seem complicated, but it is a direct bolt-on that can be completed with just basic hand tools! No welding required.

      Optional Upgrade. If you find the included polyurethane motor mount bushings to be too soft for your specific driving needs you can upgrade to a set of optional BMR Solid Aluminum Motor Mount Bushings. Installing a set of Solid Bushings will help regain the horse power and torque that is normally lost do to engine and driveline movement. BMR recommends their Solid Motor Mount Bushings for high performance street, track and drag Mustangs that are making more than 700 ft/lbs of Torque. Sold separately, see option listed above.

      Application. This BMR Suspension Tubular K-Member is designed to fit all 2005-2014 Mustangs, including the V6, GT, Bullitt, BOSS, and Shelby GT500 models with BMR or stock A-arms and spindles installed.

        Great fit fairly easy install. There is some added vibration with the solid motor mounts but well worth the weigh loss. I stall bmr core support and koni adjustable strut.

        4 2013 V6 - MarkC Installation Time: Shop Install Installation Cost: $250-$500

        An epic let-down.

        I have always received surprisingly prompt shipments and great products at great prices from American Muscle in the past. Which is why this is so mind-blowingly disappointing. Prior to ordering this K-member, I specifically queried AM asking: "I have a 2013 V6 Mustang. Will I be able to retain my stock bushings with this K-member kit? My concern here is NVH." - Mark C. The response that I received was: "The BMR Tubular K-Member can be used with OEM bushings and motor mounts." - Rob D. (This is posted on their website as I write this). Quite simply, Rob D. did not know what he was talking about. It took almost a month to receive my K-member. When it arrived at my mechanic's shop and he put my mustang up on a lift, removed the old K-member and attempted to install the BMR K-member the stock motor mounts could not be re-used. This was a huge problem since BMR forgot to include the motor mounts and attaching hardware (this and the long delay in shipping I lay at the feet of BMR). My mustang currently vibrates in the cabin like a full-blown racecar, instead of the inspired street machine that I have been carefully building (the bushings are 95 durometer.) So now I will be looking for some softer durometer bushings, perhaps a Prothane or Steeda offering. Carrie at AM was not helpful during this crisis, but a fellow at LMR.com put me in touch with Kelly at BMR and Kelly got the hardware shipped to my mechanic within a few days so that my current rattle-trap could be bolted together. - Mark C.

        3 2011 GT - C Installation Time: Afternoon

        Great product, however...

        Great product, however it became kinda annoying trying to get all the additional parts and figuring out which stock parts were reused and which ones had to be BMR (A-arms support brace, Chassis Brace). Overall tho the gains outweigh the pains by far. I love it.

        5 2011 GT - AMJoe

        Solid and Lightweight

        Got this K-Member for a custom build and it worked out great, especially paired with the BMR A-Arms. It shed some weight and allows better clearance and access to the motor when doing work. Solid quality construction from BMR.

        5 2013 GT - bullitt1204

        Awesome

        K member is amazing quality went on pretty easy only thing its missing is some kinda reference points to properly center the k member for the drivetrain. Measured several areas and centered it the best i could had to still get a alignment as my wheel was off due to k member being slightly off. But was able to adjust toe accordingly and camber wasnt off by much.

        5 2014 GT - fuelforfire87

        Good Vibrations

        I just installed this K member and am very impressed with the quality of it. Not only is it 18-20lbs lighter than stock but it also gives you much more access to the engine in case you want to install headers or whatever. I did the install on jack stands and it wasn't too bad, hardest part was getting everything lined up when putting the new k member back in. Also I was unable to get the tie rod ends out so I had to attach the steering rack to the K member as I was putting it in but not a huge hassle. The supposed increase in NVH is not bad at all (I kept the stock A arms). I've driven FWD cars with poly motor and transmission mounts and the increase in vibrations from this k member is pale in comparison. I plan on installing a set of Kooks headers in the near future and I am glad I have the added clearance from this k member. Only downside is that you may need an alignment after the install, just a fact of replacing suspension components.

        2 2011 GT - Luke Installation Time: Afternoon

        Beware of vibrations

        Product seems great, however, be aware of NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness). The Motor Mounts provided with this K-Member are tiny polyurethane bushings with a metal tip that transfer all vibration to the frame of the car. When shifting into 1st gear and at low RPMs the whole car shakes, you feel it under the pedals and in the stick, not to mention the vibration all around the car. Your loose change will shake, mirror will shake etc. Even at start-up the car shakes. Also, it feels rough and raw throughout the power band. That may depend on your vehicle but with my 2011 GT Mustang it was so bad i had to go back to the stock OEM K-member. If this company actually incorporated holes for the stock engine mounts (Item #386530) it could possibly be a lot better. Or maybe BMR made a bad fit for my particular K-member and dimensions may be off. It felt like the engine was not aligned, and I've had this car since 7/2011 with no problems. And this k-member was re-installed a few times to make sure everything is in order and no other components were touching. Either way, at this point it changed the dynamic of the car so much that i don't like driving it. Mind you that my car is lowered so that may have an impact but the vibration is terrible around 1000RMPs-2000RPMs. Also, my car dinoed at 414hp to the wheels, and the power is not there as it used to be past 4000RMPs. Going back to stock. There should be a disclaimer to this product on AM site to warn of the NVH. There may be benefits to this member but as my car is lowered and already corners great I did not notice a change. The major change was the way the components behaved after install in a negative way. (2011 GT, JLT CAI, BAMA tune, 4:10 gears, HandR Sport Springs, Roush Axleback exhaust)

      • This has not bee tested fro fitment with aftermarket turbo kits.

      • We have not tested this on any 5.0 swaps so we would not be able to guarantee a perfect fitment.

      Do you sell a k member that a 351 windsor will mount up to? I have a 2005 base model.

      • We do not offer a 351 swap K-member for a 2005 unfortunately.

      Would this help with an ls swap?

      • The BMR Tubular K-Member is not designed for an LS swap, you would need an LS swap specific K member, which we do not carry.
