    The Borla 1 ¾ inch long tube headers and corresponding off-road x-pipe will be for the '11 to '14 3.7 liter V6 owners out there who are looking to add a little bit more power and a lot more sound to your setup, whether naturally aspirated or supercharged. Now the Borla combo here will offer premium materials including the 304 grade stainless steel throughout, all for right around 1,000 bucks. Your install will certainly be for the more seasoned or advanced mechanics out there so let's go full three out of three wrenches on the old difficulty meter and a full day at least to get everything knocked out.So anyone that's been around the Mustang or car game for any amount of time has probably heard the name Borla tossed around before and for good reason. Now they are easily one of the most recognizable names in the aftermarket exhaust game and they produce a number of different products for a number of different platforms, all of which are very high quality and the same can be said for the 3.7-liter headers here.So because this is gonna be more of a general overview of the headers themselves, we're not gonna have any chassis Dyno numbers or install for you for this particular video. Sorry, guys. However, with that being said, it's not too uncommon for the S197 V6 to pick up anywhere between 10 to 20 wheel horsepower with a tune which, by the way, is highly recommended when going with an off-road x-pipe like this. Ultimately, your final power numbers will vary but a decent bump in power and, of course, sound should certainly be expected.And with that said, let's talk about the sound a little bit more because one thing I can absolutely guarantee here, guys, is the massive increase in both sound and volume when switching to a long tube and off-road x-pipe combination. Now on top of melting eardrums for miles around, it's also gonna produce a little bit more rasp when compared to a catted setup with the factory manifolds or even a set of aftermarket shorty headers. Now don't get me wrong, guys. I actually think the 3.7 is a very good sounding engine for a V6. However, you do have to keep in mind and know that adding something like this will make things extremely loud, especially when paired up with a more aggressive exhaust system.But with the power and sound aspect covered, let's break down what you can expect when it comes to construction and materials and in my humble opinion, guys, you're looking at one of the nicest set of long tubes in the category for your S197 V6. First and foremost, the Borla options will be one of the only long tubes to deliver that full 304 grade stainless construction throughout, including the 3/8 inch laser cut flange here at the head side, your 1 ¾ inch runners or primaries, all one piece by the way and all mandrel bent. I really dig that. And finally, everything is going to end in your slip style connector here which, by the way, will, of course, connect to your catless x-pipe which is also gonna feature that full 304 grade stainless.Now, by the way, guys, it is worth pointing out that the Borla x-pipe will connect to most aftermarket cat-backs in addition to your factory cat-back as well. Now, this is the 1 ¾ inch primary, guys, or tube size on the Borla which will be your larger of the two in the category, your other being the 1 5/8 inch version. And honestly, guys, the difference between the two will be very, very minimal. They're both gonna deliver similar power gains. However, if I were to make one recommendation and that is if you do plan on going forced induction with your 3.7, I'd probably lean you or direct you more towards the larger 1 ¾ inch option that we have here.Again, this is a general overview here, guys, meaning we're not gonna have our detailed walkthrough of the install but when it does come time for the installation, just know it's going to involve a decent amount of work and time and so, therefore, we did go full three out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter along with at least a full day in the shop or garage to remove the factory manifolds and get the new Borla system in place.     Quality Construction. Borla Long Tube Exhaust headers are CNC mandrel bent from 1-3/4" 16 gauge aircraft-quality T-304 stainless steel tubing for unrestricted airflow. They feature one piece 3/8" header flanges for added strength, leak-free performance and an OEM style fit.

    Recommended Upgrade. To realize the full power potential that these Long Tube Headers have to offer, AmericanMuscle recommends a custom tune with a Mustang Handheld Tuner to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) for proper operation.

    Application. This Borla Long Tube Header and Off-Road X-Pipe combo kit is specifically designed to fit the 2011 to 2014 V6 Mustangs equipped with the 3.7L Ti-VCT engine. Fits both manual and automatic transmissions.
