Aggressive Touring Sound. The Borla Touring Resonator Muffler is specifically designed to provide a touring-level of sound. This means that you can get the aggressive, throaty growl you want without the rumble and ordinance-defying volume. This quality muffler works with your Mustang's current exhaust system and eliminates the need to replace the entire cat-back system.

Boosts Exhaust Flow. The Borla Touring Resonator Muffler uses highly efficient and durable free-flowing pipes to speed up exhaust flow. This provides you greater torque and rear horsepower, which means more power and a longer engine life.

High-Quality Stainless Steel Construction. The Borla Touring Resonator Muffler is made from incredibly strong and durable T-304 stainless steel. Engineered to stand up to daily use and abuse, this muffler gives you efficient exhaust discharge for years.

Bolt-On Installation. The Borla Touring Resonator Muffler is a direct bolt-on upgrade that requires only minimal mechanical skills. The process takes approximately two hours using simple tools.

Million-Mile Warranty. Borla covers the Touring Resonator Muffler with a million-mile warranty for 50 years that covers manufacturing flaws in material or craftsmanship. That's 20,000 miles per year of worry-free use.

Application. The Borla Touring Resonator Muffler is designed to fit all 2015 to 2017 Mustang GT models equipped with the Borla 140590 or 140591 Cat-Back Exhaust System. Not compatible with other system and is not a stand alone muffler.

Currently running a Borla S-type catback with catted long tube headers but it’s just a little too loud and raspy, how much power if any should I expect to lose by replacing the x-pipe with this resonator? And would I need a re-tune?

        • The Borla Touring Resonator Muffer will not provide any significant flow restriction in the exhaust. horsepower losses over an x pipe would typically be one hp or less. no retune would be required.

If this is added with the Ford performance sport will it be louder than the touring or the same?

        • The Ford Performance Sport exhaust will already have a more aggressive exhaust tone when compared to the Touring. Adding this resonator muffler will definitely add a slight increase in the sound of the Sports.

I have a 2017 GT-PP, and currently have a custom muffler delete/axle-back with the stock resonator and cats. It sounds good, but I'd like it to be a little bit louder and have a deeper tone, but not as loud as an H-pipe with no mufflers. I know this will require cutting and welding (which is not an issue). My question is, how much louder will my exhaust be if I install this Borla resonator, compared to the stock resonator? Can y'all please do a video showing a before and after install of this resonator with a muffler delete like the MAC Boom Tube? This axle-back is VERY similar to my custom muffler delete, as mine uses 4x18 tips.

        • If you are looking to keep your existing custom exhaust and gain some sound it may be best to remove your resonator and replace it with just a hallow pipe, the Borla Touring Resonator Muffer is a muffler and may make the vehicle even quieter.

Great low rumble. Tolerable cold starts

Originally installed Borla S-Type Catback on my 17' GT but after 6k miles the cold starts were too loud for 6am in my neighborhood. This resonator made it perfect! I do miss the WOT sound of the X-pipe which was a sacrifice and may switch back some day. The Rasp is completely gone and replaced with a low tone grunt which is significantly louder than stock. Just needs to be broken in after 500miles or so, it does get louder. Lazy me paid a shop todo the install since I dont have a lift or a good floor jack. Cost me 1hr labour it bolts right up!

            Borla Touring Resonator

Installed the Borla Atak cat back system on my 2015 Mustang GT convertible. After having them on for a few years, the sound was just too loud! Was ready to purchase a whole new exhaust system and then saw that Borla had this resonator Purchased the resonator and it made all the difference in the world! Still a great deep sound just not as raspy. This was the sound I had been looking for all along. I highly recommend this resonator.

            Love the note now....

I have Borla Type S catback with LTH. The X-pipe was raspy and loud.....I didn't mind but with 3.73 gears it was painfully loud in the early mornings. Once I installed this resonated H pipe I didn't like it because it was super quiet. Now three weeks later I love it. The sound is nice and deep and not brain shaking loud.

            Mufflered H-pipe

This thing is well made. It fit exactly the way it's supposed to fit. The priced is a little high for what it is unless you consider how much a set of mufflers actually cost. Then, this is a steal. IF you're buying this to quiet down your ATAK system, it's perfect IF you want something louder than stock but not obnoxiously loud. The caveat to that statement is the fact that I have Pypes Catted LongTubes and the 2.5" ATAKs, so this thing put it noticeably above stock when you're on it, but not so much when you're cruising 75-85 mph in top gear or idling. IF reducing volume is your main concern, you can't go wrong here. The exhaust note sucks. There I said it. The characteristic x-pipe rasp is all gone. This is just a mufflered perforated H-pipe that lowers the frequencies and adds a "thump" to replace the "scream". If I hadn't had the x-pipe before I installed this it probably wouldn't have been so obvious. And maybe with stock cats and manifolds it's not. But with LongTubes and the ATAKs... Ugh. The one star exhaust note is due to personal preference and shouldn't be construed as a negative as far as the quality of the product overall.

            Hmmmm

I'm almost positive this thing is quieter than the stock resonator. I replaced my x pipe with this because i'm moving to an hoa, and with my flowmaster outlaws which is pretty much straight pipe this thing is stupidly quiet. Its almost silent on the highway, I need high flow cats or something now. Great quality and great sound just a little too quiet for me.

Catless Long tubes S Type FTW

Catless long tube boosted car with the x pipe sounded good but was also loud enough to hear my car doing pulls over a mile away. Wanted to tame it down a little and get rid of the rasp. Initially it was quieter than I wanted but after a month on the car its about perfect. Really tamed the cold starts and lower RPM cruising volume but still rips at WOT. Overall tone is deeper.

            Throaty

Okay, so you can’t go wrong with Borla and American Muscel, first I installed, on my 2016 S550 GT Convertible, the Ford Performance by Borla Cat-Back Sport exhaust, wow what a system and great enhancement. The only issue, this system is high on the Wake The Niehbors scale, I should have just gone Touring and I would have been set, but I choose aggressive. So the solution, changed the X-Pipe to the Borla Resonator, cuts the raspy highs, but all the meanness remains, great upgrade from stock, but better suited and in my opinion better sounding, especially for occasional or daily drivers. Very pleased. It took me a little over two hours, but on a convertible you need to remove the A-Frame support before working on exhaust, I think it’s 16 b.olts so it’s time-consuming... hardtop I think an hour.
