    Review & Install Video

Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m checking out MGP’s front and rear caliper covers, fitting all 2005 and newer Mustangs. So here’s the deal, an aftermarket big brake kit is not exactly cheap, and painting your factory calipers can sometimes not give you the results you’re looking for. These covers from MGP are a great way to cover up those ugly factory calipers, while adding a little customization and helping to reduce the brake dust on your wheels. The covers are offered in a red or a black powder coat and with a number of different logo options. We have a couple here on the table including the red GT logo, the complete black Cobra setup, the red running Pony logo, and the black 5.0 logo, just to name a few. Taking a closer look at the calipers you’ll first notice a very durable T6 aluminum construction, along with that powder coated red or black finish. In addition we have the officially licensed logo right in the center, along with some simulated hardware for a more realistic look. The installation really isn’t all that bad and should take you about an hour from start to finish. Of course you will need to remove your wheels just to gain access to the calipers so make sure you have your jack handy. In addition you’re going to want to make sure 3/8” wrench just to tighten up the hardware on the covers themselves, but other than that everything is completely straightforward. So if you’re tired of looking at those rusty factory calipers and you don’t feel like forking out big dough for an aftermarket big brake kit, you’ll want to look into MGP’s caliper covers available right here at AmericanMuscle.com

Mustang Styling. This set of four Matte Black MGP Caliper Covers are a great way to set off your new rims and they feature modern "Mustang" lettering on the front two covers and the iconic "5.0" logo on the rear two. Officially Licensed by Ford, these MGP Caliper Covers will give any Mustang a big brake race ready look that will turn heads.

Reduces Brake Dust. These Caliper Covers not only look fantastic, but they also act as a protective dust shield to help keep your rims looking cleaner longer.

Quality Construction. MGP makes their Caliper covers from light weight 6061-T6 Aerospace Aluminum that is formed to the caliper for a perfect fit. The covers are then completed in a matte black powder coated finish with silver lettering for impressive styling. The installation brackets are TIG welded in place for extra security.

Easy No Mess Install. Painting your calipers can be messy and time consuming, but the MGP Caliper Covers simply install over your stock calipers and are held in place with the supplied clip and bolt. For a no muss, no fuss install.

Application. Designed to fit over factory brakes, this set of four MGP caliper covers include all the required hardware needed for installation on 2010 to 2014 GT and V6 Mustangs. Does not fit Shelby GT500, BOSS 302 or Brembo equipped GT models.

Technical Note. A minimum of 1/8 of an inch clearance between the wheel and the brake caliper is required for proper fitment. We have found that the MGP caliper covers will require the use of a small 5/16" spacer to provide proper clearance with our aftermarket Bullitt wheels, see drop down option above

      Easy install

Install was easy. Only one of the rear calipers needed an adjustment. Only complaint is it doesn't cover the complete caliper (you can still see the silver of the caliper on the inside curve-probably 1/2 inch). Otherwise looks good.

      Almost Happy

I am giving these only 3 stars for one reason only. The front covers are a perfect fit and look amazing with several extra coats of Satin Black paint I put on them. The back covers need work badly. The reason is basically this, they do not fit without having to bend them and even after bending the clips still rub on the rotors, so the backs currently are not on my car till I'm able to figure something out.

      Squealing

Look great can't get them quiet. The clips squeal no matter how many times I rested them. Going to tack weld them to my calipers one of these days to avoid using the mounting hardware.

      Look Great Super Easy

Installed these at the same time I installed new wheels and tires. Each wheel took about 5 minutes to install, once the wheel was off. Super easy. Actually takes longer to remove and reinstall the wheel than to bolt these on. Well worth the time and money.

      Look great but

Could not get these things quiet. No matter what I tried no matter how many times I adjusted them they squeaked down the road. Drove me nuts. $200 bucks for 5 miles on the car and I couldn't get them right so now they're in a box on a shelf. Might tack weld them onto the caliper. The problem is in the mounting clips I believe.

Rear covers look and fit great. Can be installed without taking wheels off.....10 minutes. However the front covers do not fit the Brembo brake package.

      Calper Covers

The Matte Black Caliper Covers give the wheels a nice clean and subtle look. Took about an hour to install. The SS brackets are a very tight fit against the rotors, special care must be taken to make sure they don’t scrape especially the back covers. There is a small side to side movement in the solid rear axle that must be taken into account, so adjustments might have to be made after the initial install.

Vrey Nice but I still think they are over priced.

Since no one else makes them you are stuck with their price. They are very good and fit well. My wheels have thin spokes so when I'm at about 50mph or above the wheel centers visually disappear. Cool effect but now you see all the mechanics behind the wheels. So caliper covers were a must to dress it up. They do seem to keep the brake dust down as well. Just wish some competition would come out so the price would come down.

      Hot Look!!!

AM again comes through, arrived in 2 days. The covers don't draw attention to the rims immediately due to the raw calipers. I was able to install without remove the tires in less than a hour and it took that long because the from clips do need to be properly placed. What I do not like about the covers is the rivet images AM/MGP should offer only the .0-Mustang images and just all black. And They are a bit pricey.

They fit well with a tad bit of bending the tabs to keep snug against the caliper. Looks way better than stock and easy and relatively inexpensive appearance mod.

Once set up correctly they're great!

I probably shouldn't say "correctly", more like "where they don't sqeal". They're difficult to get the clips installed where they're not rubbing on the rotor somehow. The first attempt I made it was so loud it was embarrasing. It took several attempt to get the rears to a point where they were OK. Once installed they look fantastic and I forgot how much work went into them. However I think they're over priced for what they are. I would also like them even more if they lost the fake looking painted rivets.

      Matte black caliper cover awesomeness

If you want to "murder out" your car or simply get rid of the ugly calipers these are for you. I gave it 4 stars overall because the rear brackets needed a little adjustment. For some reason the brackets started rubbing on the brake disc so I simply removed them and put a very slight inward bend to the tip of the metal bracket then re-installed with no more issues. I Plastidip sprayed my rims in Matte black and these caliper covers definitely enhance the look of the car.

      Looks Amazing

These are a simple way to improve the look behind your wheels. Be sure not to over tighten. I heard a very annoying scraping noise coming from one of the cover brackets because they were slightly touching the rotor. The adjustment was made an they have been perfect since! Thanks AM!

      Disappointed

I was so stoked to get my caliper covers and take the appearance of my '11 GT to the next level. Unfortunately, I've had nothing but trouble with them. Due to the Bullitt MotorSport rims (which I absolutely love, by the way!) I bought from AM, the covers are a no go. No matter how I adjusted them or how thin the counterweights on the rims are, the covers don't allow enough clearance, on straightline or turns, to prevent rubbing. Additionally, I wasn't able to snug the clips for the rear covers close enough on the caliper to keep the discs from rubbing on them. I love the look of the covers, but the engineering seems to be getting in the way. Hopefully, I'll be able to come up with a workaround to get them on.

A minimum of 1/8 of an inch clearance between the wheel and the brake caliper is required for proper fitment with your Bullitt Motorsport Wheels. I've attached the link below for you. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to give us a call!
