    Review & Install Video

Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m checking out MGP’s front and rear caliper covers, fitting all 2005 and newer Mustangs. So here’s the deal, an aftermarket big brake kit is not exactly cheap, and painting your factory calipers can sometimes not give you the results you’re looking for. These covers from MGP are a great way to cover up those ugly factory calipers, while adding a little customization and helping to reduce the brake dust on your wheels. The covers are offered in a red or a black powder coat and with a number of different logo options. We have a couple here on the table including the red GT logo, the complete black Cobra setup, the red running Pony logo, and the black 5.0 logo, just to name a few. Taking a closer look at the calipers you’ll first notice a very durable T6 aluminum construction, along with that powder coated red or black finish. In addition we have the officially licensed logo right in the center, along with some simulated hardware for a more realistic look. The installation really isn’t all that bad and should take you about an hour from start to finish. Of course you will need to remove your wheels just to gain access to the calipers so make sure you have your jack handy. In addition you’re going to want to make sure 3/8” wrench just to tighten up the hardware on the covers themselves, but other than that everything is completely straightforward. So if you’re tired of looking at those rusty factory calipers and you don’t feel like forking out big dough for an aftermarket big brake kit, you’ll want to look into MGP’s caliper covers available right here at AmericanMuscle.com

Mustang Styling. This set of four Red MGP Caliper Covers are a great way to set off your new rims and they feature modern "Mustang" lettering on the front two covers and the iconic Tri-Bar Pony logo on the rear two. These Officially Licensed MGP Caliper Covers will give any S197 Mustang a big brake race ready look that will turn heads.

Reduces Brake Dust. These Caliper Covers not only look fantastic, but they also act as a protective dust shield to help keep your rims looking cleaner longer.

Quality Construction. MGP makes their Caliper covers from light weight 6061-T6 Aerospace Aluminum that is formed to the caliper for a perfect fit. The covers are then powder coated for a long lasting high gloss look. The installation brackets are TIG welded in place for extra security.

Easy No Mess Install. Painting your calipers can be messy and time consuming, but the MGP Caliper Covers simply install over your stock calipers and are held in place with the supplied clip and bolt. For a no muss, no fuss install.

Application. Designed to fit over stock brakes, this set of four MGP caliper covers include all the required hardware needed for installation on a 2005 to 2009 V6 or GT Mustang.

    • V6 - 05, 06, 07, 08, 09

Fits V6 and GT's with stock brake calipers only, does not fit Shelby GT500.

Technical Note. A minimum of 1/8 of an inch clearance between the wheel and the brake caliper is required for proper fitment. We have found that the MGP caliper covers will require the use of a small 1/4" spacer to provide proper clearance with our aftermarket Bullitt wheels, see drop down option above

I have a 2006 v6 Mustang Pony with 18" stock Bullitt Wheels will these covers fit? Or will I need to purchase spacer kit as well? Love these covers would like to purchase today. if they will work?

    • The need for spacers with these covers is going to depend on your wheel size, as well as the wheel type. Depending on your wheels width, you should not require spacers with these. With that being said you can verify this by measuring the clearance between the wheel and caliper. You are going to need at least 3mm or 0.12" clearance at all points between the caliper and the wheel.

      Nice addition and Functional

They set off the look of the car very nicely. Bright Red behind the Chrome wheels just looks tasty on the Blue Stang.

      Caliper covers 2006 Mustang GT

These look great on the car, however here’s a tip if you’re installing on a Mustang. Our Mustang has very little room between the caliper and wheel. We learned the hard way, so before installing these, go out and buy 2 sets of wheel spacers. We did not do this initially and had each wheel on and off the car trying to correct the clicking sound of the wheels hitting the caliper covers. My wife then noticed the other reviews suggesting that you need wheel spacers. Our one hour project became a four hour project which included a run to the parts store for wheel spacers. Once done however, these are a great addition and really set off the look of my wife’s Mustang.

      2008 BULLITT

I AM SORRY TO SAY THE CALIPERS COVERS WOULD NOT FIT MY CALIPERS THE CLIPS WHERE TO LAY FLAT ON THE TOP AND BOTTOM. THEY WERE TO SMALL TO OPEN UP TO LAY FLAT, WHEN PUSHED IN TO THE OPENING. THEY WOULD RUBBED THE INSIDE OF WHEEL BECAUSE THERE IS VERY LITTLE SPACE BETWEEN THE CALIPERS AND WHEEL. I AM DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE LOOKED REALLY SHARP. I AM REQUESTING A FULL REFUND AND A RETURN. OR POSSIBLE TRADE OF SOMETHING ELSE. ROBERT GOINGS

      Adds the WOW factor

These really changed the look of my Stang. As others have said, had to bend the clips on the rear covers a little bit to fit tight. Figured out the clips for the rear seem to have a slight difference in the cut. Like there is a top and a bottom clip. They seemed to go on easier. They really added the wow factor to my new chrome wheels and looks great with the vista blue on my 09 Stang. Also added the matching valve stem covers to match my center caps. A bit expensive but the results are great. Would definitely recommend this mod.

      Killer

These are a game changer! I can't believe how great these look. My only concern is if anything starts to rust. They're likely one and done. I can't see how you will remove them if the nuts rust as they seem a little delicate on those ears. They're quite expensive, but super cool. I hope they are durable enough to substantiate the cost. I had a little trouble getting them to sit right so they wouldn't rub. Other than that, fairly early installation.

      A Little Overpriced

Can't deny they look good but why 200 bucks? They are very thin. For this price they should include the overpriced spacers that you'll need.
