Looks way better than factory, and performance gain is noticable, and so is the "throaty" sound.....especially when I "get on it"Helpful (5)

Pretty good product everything fit perfect. needed to reset computer (unplug battery about 10 min) because i was getting some stalling out of first gear. after that everything ran fine and it feels like more power in the 30 mph range. Looks like some madmax mod!Helpful (4)

Love the fresh air
I was impressed by the size of the massive KandN air filter. Installation was easy and I really like the larger than stock MAF. My V6 whistles when I open it up. It feels like its getting the fresh air it needs. Once the air filter was installed it was quite snug in its new location. I first thought it would need an extra brace to hold it in place but it fit well and doesn't move at all. I like this product and would recommend it to anyone with a V6Helpful (5)

C L Cai
Install was pretty straight forward. Only issue was the security screws that were on the maf when I moved it to the new housing. I just hammered a bigger torques bit (a T20 I think) until I was able to move it myself. It did cause my PCV valve to go bad but I heard that's normal. Other than that I did notice a decent gain in power and it really helps out with my dual exhaust setup.Helpful (5)

C L intake
The CandL intake with MAF is a great upgrade and hassle free of other intakes that have you use the fender well to house the filter. Removing the MAF sensor to new housing might be a problem with security bolt that has some clay on it from turning it but can be turned with pliers. Looks real nice from the SR intake system tubing. Plastic housing doesn't reach with out touching filter but doesn't matter, great item regardless.Helpful (6)

Great product. Helps my car idle smoother. Low end driving has a bit more power too it, but not a lot. I already had a bbk cold air intake before, so instead of using the factory tube I used the bank tube. The fact that I already had a cold air intake is the reason I haven't seen much as far as gains, but if your intake is stock, you will love this. The maf housing was the last of my intake mods. now on to exhaust!Helpful (7)

Better than expected, worth the price.
I chose this kit simply because I preferred the finished look over the in fender unit. Less than an hour to install. the only difficulty, not the kits problem, was that Ford had placed epoxy over one of the MAF sensor mounting screw. Removed epoxy with a dental pick and had no other difficulty with install Tone is somewhat louder but I am really surprised by MPG gain. Mileage upped by about 20 over stock. I have not made any other mods to my Mustang so I feel this was a worthwhile investment. Will definitely recommend American Muscle to others..Helpful (6)

Impressed with this CAI
Installed yesterday and am happy with results. not much louder at idle but a slight increase when accelerating. Throttle response is much improved. The one problem I did encounter was that Ford decided to place a bit of epoxy over one of the sensor's mounting screws so that the bit wouldn't fit. Solved problem with mini vice grips. And the rubber color was a very tight fit into the intake tube. Warmed tube with hair dryer, problem solved. The pony now breathes much better... .Helpful (6)
will this bolt up to the stack racing (SR) cold air intake tube? i have the stack racing cold air intake kit, will this MAFs bolt pattern fit the tube connecting to the throttle body?
Yes this C L CAI w/ 73MM Maf will bolt up to your SR Performance intake tube. On the C L Maf, it has the black rubber connector on the end of the Maf, you will need to remove this, and use your SR Performance supplied coupler to attach to the new Maf. I have the same exact setup for my 97 V6 daily driver.
What is the exact C L part number for the replacement filter for this CAI?
Out part number for the replacement filter will be 389010. I will lend the direct link below: https://www.americanmuscle.com/cnl-4in-8in-airfilter.html
Does this filter element fit in the fender well, or engine compartment? Also, is there a box or protector to keep it cool?
This filter would be in the engine compartment rather than in the fender well. This intake will include a heat shield to keep it cool.
Could you post on the cleaning procedure. Had a K N years ago and I'm sure it's similar, but would just like a refresher of the do's/don'ts to make sure it's done right. I know you don't use solvents or high air pressure, but some filters use proprietary components that have a specific cleaning procedure. I don't recall anything that came with the the CAI package on cleaning other than it was reusable. Thanks.
The C&L Cold Air Intake filter has a very simple cleaning produce. All you need is some soap with no solvents. Lightly rinse it off with water (do not use high pressure) and let it air dry. Make sure the filter is completely dry before re-oiling. Then you are able to re-install the filter.
I lost the black donut that goes on the stock intake. Does anybody know where i can get a replacement or at least the size ?
The C&L Cold Air Intake includes a 73mm MAF housing. You will need an adapter that will fit on to this housing for a proper install.
It should be legal since it has CARB EO http://www.automotivetesting.com/emissions_4.html
