Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com and I have with me DBA’s T2 street series slotted rotors fitting all 94 and newer Mustangs. Disk Brake Australia or DBA, as you might have guessed is an Australian based company that specializes in manufacturing a wide variety of brake rotors, a lot of which are of the high performance variety. At first glance, you can see the T2 rotors feature this unique curved slotted design, which is a little different to traditional slotted rotors which typically feature a series of straight lines. DBA says this is going to help the pad bite down initially, and reduce vibration, making for stronger, smoother braking. They also say it’s going to help even out pad wear, and reduce glazing on the rotor surface. Besides the functional benefits of that slotted design, you really can’t deny that these rotors are going to look awesome behind a set of open faced wheels, like our Saleens here. There’s just something about a set of drilled or slotted rotors, that adds that look of performance to the car. Rounding out the appearance side of things, the T2’s have also been coated with this matte black here, just to reduce any corrosion or rust. The T2’s also feature DBA’s patented kangaroo cooling system, this refers to the ventilation present between the two friction surfaces, basically if you were to remove the front of the rotor here, you’d see a number of diamond shaped pillars, as opposed to the traditional straight vein or straight line design. This design adds about 60% more surface area to dissipate heat better, greatly reducing brake fade in high heat applications, such as repetitive high speed stops typically found on a race track. Even though DBA refers to the T2’s as their street series, I personally wouldn’t hesitate to throw them on a street car that does see a significant amount of track time, for the reasons I just mentioned. Even though these rotors will increase your braking performance, ultimately investing in a quality pad and fluid will be your best bet in reducing brake fade while on the track. Installing a new set of brake rotors on your late model Mustang is probably one of those things that sound a lot harder than it actually is, the reality is, once you have the wheels off, removing the old rotors and putting the new ones on is just a couple of bolts, so when it’s all said and done, just leave yourself a couple of hours to get everything bolted up. Oftentimes people focus on the performance side of things without giving much thought to their braking capabilities which can get you into trouble real quick. That’s why improving areas of your Mustangs braking, like checking out a set of these rotors from DBA, will not only increase your safety, but they’ll also look good behind the wheels while doing so, so be sure to check out the entire DBA lineup available right here at AmericanMuscle.com

Improves Braking. DBA uses a bi-symmetrical curved slotted pattern on their T2 Street Series Rotors that improves braking performance and provides even pad wear minimising glazing of pad surfaces for longer life.

Reduces Noise. The unique bi-symmetrical design of the DBA T2 Street Series Slotted Rotor dampens vibration harmonics (noise), resulting in a quieter, smoother, and more responsive brake pedal feel.

Non-directional. The T2 Street Series Brake Rotor features a non-directional slotted design that eliminates the need for left and right discs, making installation simple and straight forward.

Kangaroo Paw Design. DBA's patented "Kangaroo Paw" ventilation design, runs cooler, stronger, and outperforms traditional straight vane vented disc rotors by up to 20%.

Application. This pair of DBA T2 Street Series Slotted Brake Rotors are specifically designed to fit the front of the 2005-2010 GT and Bullitt Mustangs, as well as the 2011-2014 V6, does not fit Shelby GT500 models.

How much do these Rotor's weigh? Looking to cut as much weight as possible, so comparison to stock rotor's or in general just specs on the weight of items would be incredibly useful.

    UltraLiteGT

    • 1.875lbs lighter than stock . but my stock rotors were very worn so probably 2lbs lighter comparing new for new.

      The usual awesome DBA product

Great stuff! No complaints. The design and packaging of DBA rotors is top notch. They explicitly tell you what to do for prep and how to keep them clean in the process. Highly recommended.

      Good for daily driving

I got these to replace the worn out pair that I had. So far they feel good and they are quiet. Can't wait until I get to actually test them on some twisty roads. I will update this review after.

      Excellent Product

Paired these with the Hawk street pads and can really feel the difference in stopping power over the stock pads and rotors. Installation was a breeze and I definitely recommend these to anyone looking to upgrade their brakes without completely draining your wallet, not to mention that they look incredible behind my TSW Nurburgring wheels.

      Should be first upgrade

I bought my 2006 Mustang GT Convertible last summer with 60,000 miles on it; I do not know the break history. Each time I attempted to slow down above 65-70 MPH I got nervous; it didn't sound good nor feel good. I figured the brakes were on their last legs. This spring I sprung for four new slotted rotors and Hawk Street/Track pads and crossed my fingers (I've bought many other brake packages in the past and have cringed when they made excessive noise and a lot of dust. So far with the combo I bought from American Muscle I am nothing less than impressed; Quiet, Dust Free and I stop with confidence. By the way the stock brakes weren't on their last legs just getting close. Don

      Great rotors!

My old rotors were worn down so I was looking to upgrade. These DBA rotors were just what I was looking for. They're a great upgrade for a reasonable price. They fit perfect and definitely beefed up the stopping power. Plus they look great behind the wheels. Thanks AM for another great product!

      Great product

As advertised! Easy installation provided you have some knowledge of how to work on brakes. It took a couple hrs because i did all four and worked in my garage. They look great behind my 20" rims! I couldn't be happier

      Good replacement

Great replacement over the stock rotors. These slots are good for added cooling which will help slightly with brake fade which is caused by heat from heavy brake application. Now this isn't a end all be all solution but it can help.

      Looks good and improves braking

Bought front and rear rotors with Hawk ceramic pads. Quality of the finish is excellent, they definitely improve the look of the car. Braking power is noticeably increased and very fine for street use. Very satisfied with my purchase.
