Review & Installation Video

Hey, what's going on, guys? Adam here with americanmuscle.com. Today I'm bringing you a detailed review of Carrichs Third Brake Light Covers in the chrome ABS finish, fitting all '09 to '14 F-150s. So Carrichs Third Brake Light Cover in the chrome ABS finish will be for all '09 to '14 F-150 owners out there looking to add an exterior shine to their third brake light giving the exterior that flashy, noticeable appearance. Now we all know it really is the little things that can make such a big difference when it comes to the exterior appearance of your truck. Now Carrichs Third Brake Light Cover in that chrome ABS finish is definitely gonna be one of those little things that add on to the exterior styling of your truck with a very, very inexpensive price tag and a very simple installation that really just sticks on your third brake light. So this option comes as a perfect fitment to your truck's trim and is ready to stick on with the 3M tape that's already pre-applied to the back of the product. The only thing you'd have to do for the installation is peel back the backing on that 3M tape and stick it right on to the third brake light for a very painless installation, something anybody can do with a little bit of time at home. I'll touch on that in just a moment. But I do wanna point out this will require no modifications and won't even affect your factory paint. This option from Carrichs offers a triple dip chrome plating giving you that bright, mirror-like shine finish to give a noticeable appearance to the exterior of your truck. You can expect an automotive grade ABS plastic to blend in with the quality of all OEM materials and even to blend in with any chrome trim you may already have on the vehicle now. You can expect this piece to stand the test of time because this will not be cracking or chipping given the long periods of time and all year round usage. So obviously exterior chrome trim won't be for everybody, but if you are interested in picking up this piece, expect to be spending just about 30 bucks, definitely not the most expensive piece out there, definitely not the cheapest. This kind of falls right in the middle. I would definitely say you'd get a lot of bang for your buck if you are into the chrome trim. You get the mirror-like shine, very durable quality material, and an extremely simple installation. Speaking of that installation, expect to be spending about 10 minutes or so in the driveway at home, something anybody could do with just a little bit of time and you won't even need any hand tools. The only thing you're gonna need to do is wipe down the area with some alcohol wipes to make sure you're free of any dirt and dust right around that third brake light. Once that's done and it's completely clean, peel back the 3M tape already pre-applied on the back of the cover and stick it into place. Like I said, definitely something anybody can do, which is why I'd give this one a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. So just to quickly wrap things up, guys, if you're the owner of an '09 to '14 F-150 and you're looking for an inexpensive way to pick up some subtle chrome trim for the rear end of your truck, you might wanna check out Carrichs Third Brake Light Cover in the chrome ABS trim, available right here at americanmuscle.com.

Improves Handling. These Eibach Pro-Kit Progressive Rate Springs will lower your S550 V6 or EcoBoost Mustang's center of gravity, reducing squat during acceleration, body roll in the corners and excessive nose-dive under hard braking. A set of Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs are great for daily driving, street and even track use.

Improves Appearance. Not only does a set of Eibach Pro-Kit Springs improve the handling of your S550 Mustang, but it also improves it's over all appearance by lowering the ride height to get rid of that lifted 4x4 look that they roll out of the factory with for a more aggressive stance.

Progressive Design. Eibach's proprietary progressive spring design provides the ultimate balance to deliver aggressive good looks and high performance handling, without ever compromising safety or ride quality.

Clears Stock and Aftermarket Wheels & Tires. These lowering springs were engineered to be compatible with your factory size wheels and tires, as well as AmericanMuscle's pre-configured wheel and tire combo kits (specific to your generation), to assure proper clearance with no rubbing issues.

Application. This set of four Eibach Pro-Kit Springs are designed to fit both coupe and convertible 2015-2017 V6 or EcoBoost Mustangs.

Can you use spacers and lowering springs? I've been told it's not safe to do so, but didn't really believe that.

  • Wheel spacers and Lowering springs can be used together, however you must be cautious as this can cause the tires to rub on the fender lips, which can cause dangerous conditions.

will i need a camber kit if i install these springs on my 2016 mustang v6?

NancyE

  • These Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs will not require the use of a camber kit, however, the use of the Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates, Item 389059, and/or the BMR Camber Adjustment Bolts for the front, Item 391005 would allow for maximum adjust-ability of both caster and camber. http://www.americanmuscle.com/bmr-camber-adjust-bolts-front-1516.html http://www.americanmuscle.com/mm-caster-camber-plates-2015.html

Anyone have any experience/input regarding the lowered ride as far as speed bumps and steep drive ways go? Just don't want to be hitting every bump in the road if I can avoid it. Thanks in advance.

DRJames

  • The Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs will only lower your car up to 1.2" which is not a very sever drop. Mustangs sit pretty low coming out of the factory so lowering the car the slightest bit will definitely be running a risk to scraping on speed bumps, driveways, pot holes, etc. But these springs being such a small drop should not cause an annoyance when trying to get over these obstacles.

Excellent Look and Great Ride Imporvement

This is my second set of Eibach springs from American Muscle. I put a set in my 2012 and immediately purchased a second set and installed them on my 2016 once I got it home. The install is not too complicated but if you're new to spring installation do a little homework first. The front strut bolts are splined and it takes a strong effort to get them to break loose. The rears can be done by yourself but I would recommend a second set of hands to help pull down on the sub-frame to make removal of the factory springs easier. The handling really stiffens up and the steering is more responsive. The ride quality is excellent and you don’t drop the nose when crossing over dips in the road. I would highly recommend this product to any Mustang owner.

Great springs and drop, get an alignment.

Did the install myself, used a CJPP install video which greatly helped. If you're going to do it yourself, get a torque wrench and one that's not too long from tip to motor otherwise you'll get jammed up in some places. Take your time and don't be afraid to do it yourself. Aside from changing my own oil, spark plugs (minor stuff) this is the biggest project I've ever done. I had my girlfriend near me to give me an extra hand here and there when I was under the car on jack stands and that was super helpful so I'd recommend having someone around if you're not doing it on a lift. I took it to a performance alignment shop after, they said the toe was out really bad and there was some camber so they aligned the toe to compensate for the camber since there's not castor camber adjustment. Maybe consider the camber bolts they're like $10 from what I remember, may get some myself.

    Eibach '16 Pro-Kit Springs

Having come from a Koni coil-over setup on a sport sedan to the Eibachs I am very happy with the results. My V6 only had about 2k miles so opted to just leave the stock dampers on for now. I think doing the changes one at a time when possible will give me a better feel for the result of the changes, I am very satisfied with the lowering, it has less body roll, dive and squat while actually improving my mpg by 1 - 1.5 mpg on the highway. The ride is not harsh at all, as these are progressive and I left the stock dampers, but they stiffen up nicely in cornering and deceleration. I bought the V6 because of my long commutes in this dd, the incredible savings over the GT, the lack of trust in the di-turbo 4 and the fact 300 hp base is plenty for me to have fun without going to jail. But I will not compromise on the handling, I just need to find the sweet spot; I think the Eibach asb's may be next.

    Tight!

The new springs are nice. They tighten the ride and the look. I lowered the car a day before I had new wheels put on so it didn't seem like one inch would be that much but clearly with 20" Vertini wheels the clearance is extremely tight. But no rubbing! I've never installed anything like this before but with the help of the installation video it was very easy in terms of what needed to be done and in what order. It took me 5 hours with tools in hand and clean up but I took my time and double checked everything I did. I didn't have an air impact tool so that could have sped this up quite a bit I think. I'm satisfied with the results and would recommend these to anyone considering springs.

    2015 EcoBoost

Me and some friends from our Mustang club installed these a week ago. It looks great lowered and ride quality is great with these springs. I did notice however on the rear passenger side it is sitting about .5 inches lower than the driver side. I'm hoping it evens out with a bit more time before I go for my alignment next week.

    Huge improvement over stock springs!!!

Wow. What can I say. First off the ride quality on these springs is excellent. Stiffer than the stock springs, but the car still has a very comfortable ride. They are not too stiff at all. The car corners flatter now and the excessive body roll is gone. The nice thing now is with the front end being lower I actually feel like I have better viability. As far as the ride height...just perfect. Car looks awsome, rides awsome and handles even better. No need to be on the fence with these springs.

    Eibach Pro-Kit

After owning my 2017 ecoboost for approximately six months I finally decided on the Eibach Pro-kit to lower my Mustang. I'm very happy with the look of the car now and the ride quality as well. I had a local friend that has a lift install them and it was a straightforward installation. It took approximately 2 1/2 hours for the install. It has totally transformed the look of the car and it handles better as well.
