    Required Upgrade. To realize the full power potential that this Ford Racing Throttle Body has to offer, AmericanMuscle highly recommends the use of a Mustang Handheld Tuner to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) for proper operation.

    Required For Installation:
    • Ford Racing Adapter part# M-9474-M50 is required for installation on the stock OEM Coyote intake manifold.
    • Ford Racing Adapter part# M-9474-M50B is required for installation on the Boss intake manifold part# M-9424-M50BR.

    Application. This Ford Racing 90mm Throttle Body is specifically designed for use on a heavily modified 2011 to 2014 GT Mustangs equipped with the 4-valve 5.0L V8 Coyote engine.

    Technical Note. 90mm bore throttle bodies work great on heavily modified or force inducted GT mustangs. Stock or mildly modified GT's do not flow air enough to benefit from this larger Throttle Body.

    DYNO Tune? will a BAMA tune work or does it have to be dyno tuned? Also i have a AirRaid CAI and a BOSS 302 intake will that work with this?


    • YES, your throttle body will do great with just a BAMA tune....your cold air and intake will love your new throttle body......remember to do something to get all that air "out" the back

    Will this FP 90mm TB fit the Sniper intake manifold with 90mm opening and fuel rail kit? If so, will it require any additional adapter kits?

    • Ford Performance does not offer a warranty and are sold as-is, with a few product exceptions. This Ford Performance 90mm Throttle Body is not one of those products that they have listed as an exception.

    Is it a bad thing to install this on a lightly modified GT? if so what TB should i go with?


    • The 90mm throttle body can be used on lightly modified GT's, however, it is designed for forced induction vehicles as well as high RPM naturally aspirated built engines. The throttle body that would be recommended for a lightly modified 11-14 GT mustang would be the 85mm throttle body item 56145.

    I Have a 2013 GT will I see more gains with this throttle body or the BBK 90mm and will I need to tune it after?


    • Both of these throttle bodies will be relatively close to the horsepower gains you will find when installing this! As far as the tuning goes you will want to get a tune when installing this throttle body.

      90mm Ford Performance throttle body

      The throttle body looks great and does make a difference in the performance of my Boss. It is a little tricky to get that TB tuned just right to make a difference in the performance. Originally had BAMA send me three different tunes which did not work at all. They were great out of the whole, but once I hit 5000 rpm's the motor fell flat on its face. I ended up taking it in to get a professional tune done and it made the world of difference.

      This thing is sweeeet. Definitely get pumped to pull this out the box! Not only does it look like a gem under the hood but paired with the Boss 302 I.M. I got some major power gains! However they do not make a coupler to fit this so I did have to order and custom cut my own to fit my Airaid CAI which I wasn't prepared for. Not sure how it will be for others tho. All in all, extremely happy with this product.

      Great final bolt on upgrade

      First off, I'm an amateur under the hood. I've put on a CAI and that's about it. I got through most of the install on this without a hitch until I got to the wiring harness. The install instructions made it seem a little easier then it was and I ended up destroying one of the wires trying to get it out of the factory harness. So I had it towed to my mechanic and they replaced the wire and installed the TB for me. After bouncing back a data log with Bama tuning they fixed a very bad cold start issue I had going after the install. After the 2nd tune upload my car is running like a CHAMP! I don't notice very much performance change because I have full exhaust, CAI and a tune. The biggest difference I noticed was the fact it fixed many of the issues my car was having. I was having an issue when I first got the car with my RPMs dropping too low and the engine stalling randomly while coasting in nuetral. The only way I could fix it was to up my idle rpm to where it didn't go below 900. After installing this throttle body I no longer have to boost my idle RPM through the tuner to keep it from stalling. It goes all the way down to 650 (where it's supposed to) and doesn't drop below it at all. I also am able to let my car coast in gear without giving throttle and it maintains speed. Before it would make a chugging noise and start to lose speed faster than it should've. I am thrilled with the purchase and finally have my car driving the way it should've all along. I am giving 4 stars because it's stupid that you have to rewire the harness for it to work. Other than that it's a solid purchase that looks and drives the part. Also it's nice because most people have the BBK 90mm so you stand out more with this one. Sorry for the long review.

      Throttle body looks like a gem under the hood

      The 90mm throttle body was a great upgrade. Not only does it look great, I could feel and hear the difference. I'll know more once the weather improves and I drive a bit more and analyze the performance changes. Two tips: It was difficult to re-wire the one stock connector as far as removing in the pins to insert into the new connector. I used the safety pin, but placed it on the left side when looking down and pried inward of the pin opening as I pulled on the wire. Also, when using the stock air tube follow the submitted instructions for sawing about 1.5", just after the rubber hose clamp portion. It was difficult to find a silicone coupler and I recommend AM offer a part for this upgrade. I found Precision Turbo out of Hebron IN offered a 3.5" to 4" multi-layer coupler that worked perfect and looks great. Probably would have taken under an hour if I hadn't dropped and lost a screw and had better advice for the rewire.

      Beautiful Quality Piece, Nice Gains

      First, I'd like to say that this is a beautiful throttle body. If you showcase your Coyote, this is the throttle body you want sparkling at the judges. As far as performance, I did see noticeable gains. I saw huge gains once I installed headers and an x-pipe. Right away, you'll hear the throttle body taking in way more air than stock. I used this in conjunction with the BOSS 302 Intake and there is a little bit of modification needed to the wiring. No worries, the instructions from AM customers were spot on. Great product!

      Hold On

      overall I feel that the ford racing 90mm throttle body was the one piece I was missing to the boss 302 intake man. when you open the hood of your car it jumps out making it the center piece of your engine. the gains are big with this too your pony will buck off the line the only thing bad I would say about this was the install pain in the butt but once you get it all done you will love it the price was high compared to the BBK 90mm but hey you are driving an American muscle car built by ford way would you want to put anything else under your hood but a ford racing product plus and I'm not 100 sure but it doesn't void out your factory war. that's what I was told tho

      Top notch product!! Instal guide needs some work.

      A must have for your 5.0! BOSS or stock either way. The gain in throttle response is amazing and the instal was pretty easy. The only hang up I had with it was getting the pins out of the stock connector. The guide says to slide a safety pin in the space next to the plug pin and it will just push out. Well they failed to mention that the safety pin needs to pull back a very small catch tab at the bottom of that space and if you dont get it on that catch tab it aint going no wear. "were you going? NO WERE!" And also pulling back the insulating from the bottom of the connector helps. After that it was pretty simple to instal the new connector. Just push the pins in till they click. The rest of the instal was a breeze. I found a silicone flex joint at Pep Boys that dropped from 4" to 3.5" and it worked perfectly to go from the 90mm throttle body to the roughly 80mm CAI tube. All in all a great product that did not disappoint in the get up and go department.

      Was awesome, when it worked

      It ran fine for about 500 miles, then I ended up having to have my car towed home due to a problem with the TPS. Ended up sending back to manufacturer and had them recalibrate it. It worked fine on their test bench, but still doesn't work right on my mustang.

      the best throttle body

      Really opens your motor up a lot more than the 85mm. It wants to pull away from u now not pull back on u when u Hit the pedal.huge upgrade,One of my best mods and I've got almost 10 grand in my gt mainly in the motor so highly recommended and worth the money.

      Just ok...

      First, the throttle body is beautiful under the hood. It's really a show piece. However, it should've come with an adapter to plug it in. I tore up the pins trying to repin the connector and ended up just hardwiring it in. Also, I can hear the cold air intake whistling now when I'm accellerating from 2800 - 3k rpm, which isn't terrible, but its not the sound I was hoping for.

      FR 90mm TB

      I am running this TB with the Boss Intake, the acceleration is much more quicker than the OEM stock TB. The stock is 80mm so your increasing your size. Install was pretty much a breeze until you get to that connector, the customer submitted install guide suggest you use 2 safety pins but you really only need one good one and pull on each wire to get them out. the guide also has the order of the wires which is very important, to be safe either write down your order or take a pic. The new connector is marked with a 1-6 so you know which end to start with. Also if your using your stock CAI I would suggest getting the 4" to 3 1/2" reducer, you can get the tube on to this throttle body but it took 2 of us to do it. I ran my car with both stock and this TB with the Boss Mani and there is a big difference in throttle response. Ford Racing suggest getting a custom Dyno tune with this TB. Bama writes pretty good tunes and are very helpful if you have questions. I will be getting a custom tune down the road. If your willing to pay the extra for this TB I found it was worth it, plus it looks great under the hood matched up to that Boss Mani.

      WOW.. I didnt think that 90mm would make such a difference. The stang is so much more jumpy than before. Every time you step on the gas you can hear her breathe deep. Its like the engine had never been able to breath properly before. So much power everywhere. The stang wants to buck right off the line. You will have to retrain yourself to the new feel before you ride her hard. Brake her in first and you will be astonished will how much power you will get back. Kind of difficult to install but well worth it. I submitted an installation guide to help so check it out.
