    Boss Performance. Designed to operate at higher RPMs the BOSS Alternator features a one-way clutch to prevent belt hop-off during up shifts, as well as a larger pulley that slows the armature speed reducing parasitic drag freeing up horsepower.

    Kit Includes. The Ford Racing "Boss 302" Alternator Kit includes an OEM 1-way clutch Boss alternator, tensioner, FEAD belt and mounting bolts.

        Does anyone know what the output Amp specs are on this piece? The stock alternator is 130 amps. How does this unit compare? Other manufacturers of 250 units are charging 370-599 dollars! How many amps does this thing put out?

        • This alternator puts out 96 amps @ 650 RPM (min) to 156 amps @ 6,000 RPM (max).

        So far my 2014 track pack looks nothing like the video. A lot less room. How do you unplug the alternator? There is no tab to keep it plugged in. It does not come unplugged. There does not appear to be any way to unplug the alternator.

        • lt will not, this will only fit 5.0L GT models and not 3.7L V6 models.

            Hasn't broken so far

            I broke my old alternator shifting at 8200rpm. This one has seem to hold up on multiple passes so far.

            Solid replacement

            Original alternator started going on my 14 around 83k miles. Needed a replacement, and this kit was actually slightly cheaper than a replacement from a parts store, so I gave it a shot. Fit and finish was solid, and it so far, it's been chugging along without issue. One note for track pack owners - You will need to disconnect the radiator hose from the engine to get the alternator out/in. There are two additional hoses that hook up to it, and because of that, there isn't enough play to give you enough room to get the alternator out. I just carefully unplugged the hose and used a zip-tie to hold it away from the engine. Not a big deal, just a bit of coolant loss which can be remedied by adding more to the reservoir.

            Nice replacement

            My stock alternator broke. Shop told me 299 for a new one oem so I pulled the trigger on this instead. I’m someone who honestly doesn’t care about any “upgrade” to be made with this alternator. So if anybody out there is sweating about getting a replacement alternator in there car. This is it. Dumb simple to install. Un clip some clips, unscrew some nuts, un plug some plugs. Then watch a YouTube guide about how to route the belt and then you’re done. I have already put a couple miles on mine and everything is running smooth. 5/5 so far

            Great performance replacement

            Much higher quality parts than the stock alternator. For the price, the benefits of this product are amazing. If you bang through high RPM shifts like I do then you will want the beefyness of the pulleys and the extra clutch that the boss alternator provides

            Quality Upgrade Kit

            Good quality kit in all. Better pulleys and brand new one way clutch alternator is very nice. To save alot of trouble, get extra pair of hands and just take top of radiator hose off as someone else pulls old alternator off and puts new one on...I dunno how they magically got it past hose in install video, but that part has a jump edit in there. Will only lose a little bit of coolant and can fill that back later...will save alot of trouble and time. Torque those pulley bolts!!

            Easy install

            I found it easier to just remove the radiator hose. I couldn't figure out a way to maneuver it out of that small space without doing it. It took about an hour.

            This product works good

            This alternator takes some maneuvering to install but is doable. All parts were quality. My alternator worked the first time no return. We had to remove both pieces of the air breather assembly which includes the actual intake channel the filter assembly fits into. It was preventing the alternator from slipping past the fan cover. It has 4 tabs that have to be separated with a flat head screw driver while keeping tension on or either the upper tab or lower tab will re-engage. Other than that it went smooth. It took about 1.5 hours to install.

            cheaper than an OEM GT replacement alternator

            Was looking for a replacement OEM alternator for my 2014 GT. Ford had them on back order. This boss updated alternator comes with a new belt, and metal pulleys to replace the plastic ones at a CHEAPER price!

            Easy Install

            High revs and heat from my Roush phase 3 supercharger hurt the stock alternator. Dealer wanted $400 for a stock replacement but this kit includes belt, pulley, tensioner and high rev alternator for $245. WINNING! This alternator is the same as stock but bigger pulley so not to rev as high. Having a breaker bar is helpful for install.

            Great upgrade

            I had a sensor error code 340 and 340 Bank 1 and 2. This alternator fixed the problem right away. The stock is much more expensive at Ford. Thanks American Muscle.
