Reduce Engine Temperatures. Keep your 5.0L Coyote powered GT Mustang running cooler with a Ford Racing Engine Oil Cooler Kit from AmericanMuscle. This is the same exact Engine Oil Cooler that is featured as original equipment on the special edition Boss 302 Ford Mustang.

How It Works. The Ford Racing oil cooler kit bolts-on between the engine block and the oil filter and ties into your stock radiator. It acts like a heat-sink that cools the engine oil as it circulates through the filter for longer oil life.

Legendary Ford Racing Quality. When you're adding new parts to your Pony, you can't go wrong by installing parts from the folks that know it best. Ford Racing's legendary quality ensures a perfect fit and years of hassle-free use.

Application. The Ford Racing BOSS 302 Engine Oil Cooler is designed as a direct fit bolt on upgrade for the 2011-2014 GT Mustangs equipped with the Coyote 5.0L 4-Valve Engine.

Ford Racing Boss 302 Engine Oil Cooler, part # 50319 I am running very high oil temps on track days....20 min sessions and I'm at 280 + oil temp but water is at 220. I have a stock 5.0 with Edelbrock supercharger, cold air and custom tune 505rwhp, 450tq. I need to cool the oil by 30-40 deg. Will this oil cooler, part # 50319 do the job ? Will a oil separator assist in cooling the oil as well ? I run Mobil 1 synthetic with 1qt of Lucas synthetic oil additive. Normal driving oil temp is about 220 and water is 180ish. This last track day it was about 83 deg and track temp was about 140 deg. Thanks for your help, I'm anxiously awaiting your response.....mark

    • Mark - I have purchased this unit and I can tell you from My experience that this DOES lower the Oil temp 20-30 degree's as I was running about 230-240 each day and now I'm at 190-210! I find that this unit did help in lowing my oil temp on daily driving as well as the track. It is a small investment for your engine. Well worth it! Trust me - I like it and I would recmmend it to others!

Is this already in the GT Track Package? I have a 2014 GT with the GT Track Package that supposedly includes an engine oiler cooler, so is it this $140 cooler or the $1000 FR "heavy duty" cooler?

    TrackTom

    • If you have a heat sink where your oil filter screws on and 2 liines that go to your lower radiator coolant hose thats the $140 cooler the other is a conventional heat exchanger that has oil going through it not coolant. Good Luck on future mods.

v6 will it fit a v6, and if not, what can we modify to make it fit?

    alrefire

    • I cam tell you this will not be a dirrect bolt-on appplication. first you would nave to figure out how to mount it,be able to get at it(remember the filter), and make sure it's clear from moving parts. At this point you have to do plumbing work to get all related hoses to fit! Keeping in mind that they have to be away fron moving parts and are not able to kink or bind(especially when hot), so that there ore no restrictions to any hoses. It may be easier to up-grade the engine fan assembly, and cool the engine compartment!

      Needed if tracking the car!

The oil cooler definitely helps and is a really easy install as long as you follow the instructions and attach the hoses to the cooler before mounting it and topping up the oil. If not you can't get the hoses in place without removing the cooler. The previous track day I would overheat the oil in my 13 (into the red on the track apps display). With the cooler it would still go close to the yellow but I was able to turn on my heater which would clear out some heat as the coolant and oil temps are now related.

      Peace of mind

This is the cheapest way to cool your oil before going to a full air cooled setup. There is a very good reason this is standard on a BOSS. Installation was a bit more involved than suggested in the Ford instruction guide. We removed the intake snorkel and upper radiator hose for better access. Use a vacuum based coolant pump if possible since you will be draining the cooling system. No power increases. I viewed it as a front-end insurance charge.

      BOSS 302 oil cooler

This item is a direct bolt-on for the Coyote-powered Mustang, and well worth the 2 hours to install. It lowers oil temperature a minimum of 30 degrees F, and adds a small measure of safety to those of us who run our Mustangs harder than normal. Be sure to buy a 14mm hex socket to remove the stock filter adapter, and have on hand one quart of oil and a gallon of the orange coolant.

Boss oil cooler for my gt

I bought this for my GT to keep the oil temperature down. This is a OME product so the quality is there and it was easy to install. This is good insurance for your mustang gt, i would highly recommend getting one.

      KEEPIN' IT COOL

This product is well worth the money and it shows on engine temps. Engine mods can bring increased temps so this is a piece of mind along with RPP Ice additive. Great product highly recommend.

      Cooler Boss 302 Temps

Engine ran 30-40 degree's hotter when I installed the BOSS 302 Manifold on my GT. I decided to try this part after reading the specs and reviews and I'm glad I did! This Item lowered my engine temps by 30+ degree's! A cooler engine is a happier owner!!! Great investment insurance for your engine and peace of mind! I do not look at the temp gauge as much anymore because this device really works! Well worth the cost to purchase and install to keep my BOSS 302 cooler! Great Product! Highly recommend!!!

Ford Racing BOSS 302 Engine Oil Cooler

I had to cut off a the factory upper hose clamp since the removal tab broke when I was taking it off. Good thing the oil cooler comes with 2 brand new hose clamps. Other than that follow the instructions and it works great.

      Excellent Performance Addition (Addiction)

I had to have it and got it. Easy installation, just took my time while sipping on some Starbucks. Temps are lower for my application. I will see how it fully performs next year when I run the car at an autocross event. Overall I am elated about this product.

      Runnin' cooler mon!

I bought this as a precursor to my future supercharger purchase and install. I figured I would take care of all the things that you would need for large performance gains, then be set in the future. I had a Ford dealer do the install for me on this since their work (and this mod) would be covered under the factory warranty. Charged me 2 hours shop labor. Overall it is a great mod, and you never would no it was done and not a factory piece. I just wish the dealership would have topped off the coolant better...but hey like they say, " if you want something done right, you have to do it youself" I would highly reccomend this to anyone wanting to drop their oil temp for hard running and oil life/engine life extenstion. oil temp appears to have dropped about 20 degrees.

      Worth the Price

Awesome product, direct bolt on, simple to install, and overall 26-30 degree drop in temps. Quality product, especially for the price. Matched up with a 3 core radiator, looking at some better cooling all around. For this price, you can't say no when it comes to the life of your motor.
