    This is the Ford Performance SVT Performance Cooling Fan for 2005 to 2014 GT and GT500 Mustangs. This is a direct fit replacement upgrade cooling fan, and you could be checking this thing out for a few different reasons. If you're just looking to replacing your stock fan, this could be an option. Or if you're looking for an upgraded fan to pair with other cooling system upgrades like a radiator, this could be a good option for you, too. Whether your car is stock or you have some modifications, upgrading your fan is gonna help keep your temperatures down. People upgrade their fans to help battle summer heat or keep things cool after they add some mods to their Mustang and have more horsepower. Since this is a direct fit replacement, the install for this fan is very easy. It's a one out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter, and you can plan on spending two hours getting this on the car. This fan is more powerful than the factory GT fan is when you look at cooling ability. This is the cooling fan that comes stock on 2013 Shelby GT500, which is made for higher performance demands. The SVT fan is about a one-half inch larger than the factory GT fan is. It also has seven blades that are smaller in size than the six blades that are on the factory GT fan. This design allows the SVT fan to flow more air, both at high speeds and also at idle. The SVT fan also has four slides that are on the bottom. These open from air crush when you're driving at high speeds, which opens up more air flow. The other difference is that the fan motor is thinner than the stock GT fan motor. It doesn't stick out as far on the engine side. This being a Ford Performance part that comes stuck on some models means that this has some other plus sides, too. First of all, you can guarantee the Ford Performance quality and fitment. If Ford Performance tells you that this is a direct fit replacement, then it's a direct fit replacement. This is gonna be a direct bolt and upgrade for the GT and a replacement for the GT500, even your wiring and your plugs. It fits in the factory location without any issues or modifications. Ford Performance and the product page said that these would not fit the V6 Mustang because it's not a direct fit replacement for the V6. Customers have mentioned that they've installed this on the V6, but you will need to make some modifications mostly to the fan trout itself for it to fit in the front end of the V6. So for you guys out there that are thinking about it, I know it's been done in the past but I'm still gonna stick with saying that this is only for the GT and the GT500. When it comes to price, you can expect to pay just over $200 for this cooling fan. This is a Ford Performance part that's originally equipped on the '13 GT500. So if you compare it to other options on the site, you'll notice that this is a little bit more expensive, but the other fan options are universal fit and they're not OE performance-based options. And overall, I wouldn't say that this is expensive. This price point makes this fan a good option for someone just looking to replace a stock fan or for someone building a car that needs more cooling ability from the cooling system. The install is easy. It's a one out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter since this is a direct fit replacement. You can plan on spending an hour or two getting this on the car. You will need some basic hand tools but nothing out of the ordinary to get the install done. You'll start the install by pulling the cover that's on the red. This is held in by plastic retainers that you can gently pry up on. Disconnect the mass air flow sensor and unplug it. You will need to remove the air filter and the intake assembly. When it comes to the coolant reservoir, you can completely remove it or you can tilt it back out of the way. It's gonna be up to you. If you wanna remove it, you'll need to disconnect the hoses running to it and unbolt it from the car. After that, you need to unbolt the factory fan. There will be a few bolts that you need to back out, and you'll need to unclip the electrical connection, too. You're gonna remove the factory fan by pulling off on it until it clears the car. You may need to shift it back and forth to get it free. The new fan only uses two bolts. You'll install this fan in the reverse order and button everything back up that you took off the car. After the install is complete, you're gonna wanna start the car and let it get to operating temperature. Check for any fluid leaks and make sure that the fan works properly, and that's all it's gonna take.       Ford Perforance Cooing Fan

      This product is another great part made by Ford Performance. As described the install was very easy, took about 45 minutes from start to finish. I now can count on better cooling. The upgraded Ford Performance Radiator is next in line. You will not be disappointed by upgrading your mustang with the AM product.

      Works great no more issues

      I purchased this man after my stock fan resistor and wiring harness melted at the race track and caused the car to over hear. I made sure that wouldn't happen again so I installed this fan along with the BOSS 302S all aluminum ford racing radiator. I also ran an extra ground for the fan harness which I would recommend while installing this as I've noticed it's a some what common issue on these cars to melt. I took her back to the track the day after install and ran her 4 times and she ran perfect and cool no issues what so ever.

      Bad unit

      I was excited to upgrade my 2014 Gt Track pack with this good performance cooling fan until it gave out on me! I only had the fan for about two months or so hen it decided to go out on me in which my vehicle began to over heat. I called AM and they stated that they would not send me another unit even though I only had it in for a little over two months or so. Yes I am disappointed in the fact that the cooling fan went out on me so soon. I don't think I will be going with this cooling fan anymore.

      Good replacement

      Used this as a replacement for my failed OEM in my 2012 Mustang GT. This is a Paxton supercharged vehicle. If you are thinking of using this fan on a Paxton car, be prepared for some major alternations/cutting. It does not appear to be any thinner than the OEM fan.

      Great piece

      Installed this fan on my FBO/supercharged 2012 GT, install was fast (minus having to cut it to fit with the intercooler piping) but I haven’t had any issues with it whatsoever and the car sits at a steady 179-185 even at 100 degrees in traffic.

      Second fan

      I wanted to start off by saying American Muscle is great and anything negative in this review has nothing to do with them. I bought one of these fans back in November 2015 and had to replace it this spring. This fan failed the first time due to a melted resistor and a melted power cord. Given this is an OEM fan in the Gt500's it seemed odd that this would fail so early. I live in NC and this area doesn't get Arizona or Texas hot by any means. Hopefully the second one will last.

      I'm a fan of keeping it cool!

      I purchased this svt fan and ford performance aluminum radiator. After removing the OEM fan and radiator and installing the new set up I noticed a HUGE difference!!!!! I am talking 7-12 degrees cooler!!!!!! And when I'm at idle after running my Stang, I found that this fan and radiator setup kept my engine cooler!!!!! I highly recommend this fan!!!! Get the ford performance radiator too!!!!
