5 2009 GT - DaleL Installation Time: Afternoon

        Excellent Product

Got these to replace the coils on my Stang due to seeing random misfires across 7 of 8 cylinders on my scan tools since aftermarket camshaft install (coils are Original and have 149,583 mi on them). These are the genuine Ford 8L3E 12mm brown boot units offered as a package so a smoking deal. Got them swapped in and can see the difference they made thru my scan tool. Car runs so much better, throttle response is more crisp now since misfires have been resolved. Can’t go wrong using the original Ford parts w/ Ford vehicles!

        5 1996 V6 - Brute1985 Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Very Good Product

My vehicle is a 2008 F150 w/ 5.4 engine. It needed a tune up bad. New spark plugs and these coil packs did the trick. I tapped the throttle as soon as I left the driveway and thought oh wow. Not a amazing power gain but more like power gained back from worn out equipment. Stock genuine motorcraft coils. I was told 1yr warranty. I figured the coils lasted for 120k, so I'd replace them with what the truck came out with. Part number m12029-3v is Dg521 fyi. These coils will fit pretty much any 3v v8 ford had after 2008. I think I did very well.

Nice upgrade for your GT 3V

My original coils were starting to break down due to age. Why change only one when you can upgrade all of them. I have ALL Ford Racing upgrades on my Mustang and can actually feel a difference in the performance after the coil change. Easy install in 15 minutes. Change your plugs at the same time if you haven't already done so.

        Replacement coil packs

What can I say these are OEM and much cheaper than buying through you local Ford parts counter at $59/piece. They come with the grease that the Ford shop manual calls for pre-applied. Not much more to say.

      5 Top Rated Questions

Just received my new Ford racing coil packs. I noticed part number DG-521 printed on each. Are these exactly equivalent electrically to the OEM plugs? I bought these thinking I was getting a higher performance part (voltage, current) than the OEM part.

      • These are stock replacements, and are a slight upgrade, but are not anything crazy as far as upgrades go.

I have a 2007 Mustang GT, do these work just like the OE ignition coils? Because i just want to replace the old ones with something that is close to OE replacement or OE parts. Thank you for the help.

      • The Ford Performance 4.6L 3V Ignition Coil Set will be a direct replacement for the mid 2008-2010 stock coils, with no additional modification required. For a 2007, you will require earlier model coils, such as the Accel Super Coil On Plug Kit linked below: https://www.americanmuscle.com/accel-sohc-coilplug-0510.html Our full listing of coils can be found here: https://www.americanmuscle.com/mustang-coils-0510.html#shop-by1

Is there any Ford Racing options for the pre '08 3v folks? I have an '07 and I would like to get some of these coils but can't find any for the 3L3E style.

      • Unfortunately, we do not have any Ford Racing Coils for a 2007 GT. Though, we do offer three different 3L3E styles that will fit your 2007 Mustang GT. This is will also give you an increase in horsepower, torque, and fuel economy.
