      Best Housing

I should have bought the Ford Performance t-stat housing in the beginning, instead of wasting my time and money on cheap aftermarket. I highly recommend this Thermostat Housing.

      Fit well

Fit was great. Used a motorcraft thermostat that fit great. Thermostat was inserted to housing and a little twist and it would seat perfect. Made install easy because thermostat would not fall out. I used a gasket from another supplier that was adhesive on one side so it lined up great. Hasn't leaked at all.

      as good as new!

this housing is better then whats available from aftermarket, just be prepared to do some cleanup, I'm having mine powder coated chrome and another powdered in wrinkle black to match each of my cars under hood treatment. I wish it came drilled and tapped as an option.

I URGE you to purchase this and not.....

A knockoff brand. Don't even bother going the cheap budget route or you'll be sorry you did. Last summer I purchased an aftermarket piece out of desperation (Amazon) and needed it ASAP for track day. Well, it leaked. I couldn't see anything wrong with it until I put a straight edge to it. So, learn from my mistake and buy the Ford unit. When you open the box, you'll see the machining and quality are even better than what they used in the 80's. Want another tip? If it's a roller 5.0, toss the o-ring and don't use a gasket. Smear high-temp silicone on the intake side AND on the housing's side. Let it set for a day. Done. Hope this helps someone else.

      Best Part Available

Bought the inferior Mr Gasket with the pre-tapped plug first. It broke tightening it down. This piece needs tapped for a temp sensor but it tightens and seals better without breaking. Don't waste your time, buy this the first time.

product was exactly what i needed

My thermostat housing was excepionaly clean and defect free! I recommend your site to all my mustang buddies. Not only do they have all parts you need for your mustang project, but they have the best price. I will no longer be using eBay for a good deal. Hopefully I can clean out my laundry lists of parts I need.

      Great replacement

My 1988 LX had a cracked thermostat housing shooting coolant onto the engine and caused overheating. I ordered this ford racing replacement housing from American Muscle at a more then acceptable price and it arrived quickly. The housing was easy to install, looks and works great. I am very happy with the product and with my purchase experience from AM.

      no leaks

My cheap AZ thermostat housing kept leaking (Made in China). These things are not easy to change out due to the location. So I came up off a few extra bucks for this one and...no leaks. I installed it using only thermostat RTV sealer. I had to drill and tap it, however, for the fan switch. Tip- Use a vacuum pump to pump out all the coolant in the old housing before removing it and it will make much less of a mess. Great product.
