Increase horsepower and torque. Now you can increase the horsepower and torque of your S197 Mustang with a set of JBA Natural Long Tube headers for power you can feel throughout the RPM band. These JBA Long Tube headers will greatly improve your mustangs exhaust flow increasing your pony's horsepower, torque, and throttle response.

Quality Construction. JBA Long headers are made to last using 3/8" thick laser-cut one piece flanges, free flowing mandrel-bent 1-5/8" stainless steel tubing, and JBA's patented Firecone™ collectors.

Natural Finish. These JBA Headers feature a natural stainless steel finish, which provides an aggressive appearance to your engine bay. This is not a heat-resistant coating, AmericanMuscle recommends the use of Exhaust Heat Wrap for high performance applications.

x-pipe I was wondering if these could work with the slp shorty x -pipe. considering diameter, collector, etc

JrMunoz05

  • With Long Tube Headers, you should purchase the matching brand shorty mid-pipe to ensure proper fitment. We have found that to be especially true for the SLP brand. Using an SLP shorty mid-pipe with these JBA Long Tubes may bolt up without issue, but there's a possibility some tweaking and minor modification to get a perfect fit would be required. I'd highly recommend combining these LT headers with the JBA shorty mid-pipe. Hope this helps to answer your question!

I was looking at the "in the box" section and it mentions 2 O2 sensors. But they look to me to be O2 extensions. So I am curious the facts,, If they are indeed extensions, this is an all parts inclusive upgrade? Just wanting some clarification, so I am not buying accessories I don't need, or buying this and actually needing something. Thanks in advance.

06VetStang

  • The JBA Natural Long Tube Headers come with o2 sensor extensions, and they do not come with the sensors themselves, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Will these headers work with an auto transmission?

Strafuss124

  • JBA does not mention anything about manual or automatic transmissions. So it should fit. You can always call JBA directly and ask them to be 100% sure. But their installation instructions do not mention anything about auto vs manual; so you should be good.

Are these headers loud with stock mufflers? Because I live in Switzerland, i have to use the stock mufflers on my mustang. I already bought this headers wit catted H-Pipe. I thought about selling them now because I'm afraid of getting caught by the Police. But I still would like them installed. Are they hearable with stock mufflers or not? Is there a noticeable power gain?

KOudi

  • yes on the power gain and not really louder but a more deeper growl to your pony

    That 60s sound

First thing make sure to get jba mid pipes as well make it easier for you. Took about 4 hrs to put on and they sound great. I am going for the old Mach 1 60s sound and it's almost there.

Long tube headers for the win

fitment bolted right up. chose these instead of the other finish because they were cheaper when paired with the shorty mid pipe you will need. rattle can spray them so they don't rust and i wrapped them with header wrap to keep the heat out of the engine bay. took me a couple days to install I'm 18 and tackled it by myself. the performance gains are pretty good. threw me back in my chair like its suppose to. overall very happy. oh and that sound tho... amazing

Got rid of the raspy sound.

When I first got them I was surprised with the quality I would compare them really close to kooks headers. They fit perfect between the frame rails. I ran the headers with a jba x pipe and magnflow catback. These headers do not leak worth every penny.

    JBA Headers

Took a day to install, fitting is obviously tight because they are long tubes. I get vibration in the steering wheel when turning left. I got this install done with JBA shorty catted H pipe and Pypes super system catback. The overall exhaust is pretty quiet, just has a better tone. Not really what I am looking for and no performance gains felt whatsoever even after tuning and data logging with BAMA.

Great set of headers, difficult install

Great product shipped pretty fast packaged well. I was originally gonna install them myself but believe me it's quite a bit more work than you think it is. Had the install all said and done for 300. Sounds so much louder paired with the offroad exhaust h pipe and flow master 40's.

    Jba long tubes!

These long tubes are awesome! I installed these with the help of some friends in my garage. It took about 10 hours but it was well worth it. Sounds amazing matched with my roush catback. The car is loud!

Excellent fitment. Like a glove! And even better sound!

These went in without a hitch. I originally purchased an ebay set of headers that did not fit on the passenger side at all. The JBA's were more expensive, but well worth the money. And still cheaper than the name brand competition. I went with the matching off road h pipe which fit well. I wish there were an X pipe option. Plan on about 6 hours for the install. It is not hard per se, just time consuming.

    Gains and amazing sound

The install was a pain for the shop. Took bout 12 hours but all n all the results were amazing. I feel the gains throughout the rpms and the sound is something else. I have roush axleback and it was pretty loud before but now it sounds like I have cams. The headers made my car exreamly loud but not in an anoying rice burner way. It sound like I have a sick muscle car

    Awesome Headers!!

I installed these with the JBA Off-Road H Pipe, along with my Roush Off-Road Axle-back. Amazing sound, especially at wide open throttle! I would defiantly recommend these to a friend. I had a friend of mine who works at a shop to do the install for $100, got a couple quotes from shops that ranged from $200-$550. Amazing Product!

    Jba Long Tube Headers

These headers are descent quality and get the job done i can feel the difference in power I was able to install these without messing with the steering column by removing the motor mount from the engine block. Getting them to not leak was a task and the h-pipe I bought with them was complete junk these are descent but I recommend spending the money and getting the kooks instead

    High Quality

These headers are really nicely made, especially for the price. They have really thick flanges, and there's a bit of port work done just inside to smooth out the welds. They're really long, but they fit extremely well. The bolts come with locking washers, and a set of O2 extensions and gaskets are included. However, a second set of extensions is required. I got these installed with the JBA catted h-pipe, and I already had KR axle-backs. The car now has a really nice old school sound that kind of sounds like a big-block. It's not too loud at idle or low rpms, but at about 3500 or so, she gets pretty loud. I haven't had it dynoed but there's no doubt she's quicker, and the Bama tunes seem to be spot-on.

    AMAZING

So I'm not the type of person who usually writes reviews I have bought several items on American muscle but for this product I just have to write a review. Jba long tune headers are amazing product. I have a 2007 mustang gt/cs and before the long tubes I just had a borla atak cat back system and it was loud with just those but added the longtube woke up that pony even more. It was kind of a pain in the butt doing the install but if you want to save labour money but it's worth it if you want to save 500 plus. Had to remove the steering shaft, motor brackets and the starter to get access to the passenger side header. Amazing product. One of the most amazing upgrades on my mustang thank you American muscle and bama tuning for you work!!

    JBA Long Tube Headers

I viewed videos on line for at least 6 months attempting to find a "sound" that I wanted. I also read blogs, reviews, expert advise, all in attempt to educate myself on the best product available. JBA Longtube headers have provided me with the sound that I have longed for my entire adult life. My car is as incredible sounding as I could have imagined. I was willing to attempt the install myself but local speed shop charged me $450 and they had it done in 4 hours with a garuntee of "no leaks" as well as implementing the required tune. Worth every penny. If your on the fence, I say buy buy buy!!!

    Great Sounding Headers

Install took right about five hours to complete the install on my wifes 2006 Mustang GT. JBA gave good detailed instructions for their product. I found it easier to remove the motor mountd on both sides, instead of just taking the nut loose and raising the motor. You still need to raise the motor to get easy access. Removing the motor mount makes it easier to access the lower bolts on the manifolds and headers. Be sure to order the O2 Sensor extentions. A set for front and rear O2 sensors will be needed. Great sound, better throttle response with the headers. A must have for the true Mustang aggressive sound.

    Best purchase so far!

Install :( took a couple nights and a few busted knuckles, then again I have a 2" drop so that made install even better. Performance hands down took my mustang to the next level! Finally my stall converter feels like a stall converter! I also run a Zex 125 shot on car. Needless to say my top end is what I had been missing in the car, but now its there!

    JBA Longtube Headers

I wish I had bought these headers the 1st week I got my car 3 yrs ago! I LOVE the way they allow the engine to breathe & the POWER they unlock. My car sounds like a 60s muscle car w/ the Flowmaster mufflers I have installed! Love JBA!

    That sound!

This finally made my car sound the way it should. Deeper and louder burble near idle and at cruise. Awesome sound at WOT. Still no drone at speed. I have mangaflow mufflers that sounded good before but were a bit quiet. Now they have woken up. I got the system catted to keep it inspection legal and it still sounds great. The car really does run smoother too. I run in a higher rpm without noticing now. Shop install was a bit expensive but worth it. Visually the headers seemed top notch and durable. I think I lost some low end torque but that is a bit subjective. I'm already running a tune and want to get it updated to see if I notice anything.

    Looks great and great sound.

I installed these headers and the jba catted shortys and the pypes bomb catbacks. All I can say is very very loud, used my Bama tune and it made my stang wake up. It will take awhile if you do it yourself, have to jack engine up and remove starter and part of the steering column and the oil dipstick and engine mounts, make sure to buy 2 packs of the o2 extention kits. Everyone looks at me when I put on the gas. Very loud compared to the stock system. I think the jba was a great decision. Great quility, didnt have any problems at all. I did buy new gaskets too, never trust the old ones.

    JBA is awesome!!!!

I got the JBA longtube headers put on with the matching off-road Hpipe. I already had the Borla Stingers on my car with the JLT intake and 93R tune from Bama. When I put these suckers on wow!!! My car turned into a monster. The sound just has to be heard in person, a word description doesn't justify how good it sounds. Plus Bama retuned my car for the headers and the performance gain in definitley noticeable. I love these headers. Don't spend all that money on Kooks when these look way better and perform just as well. I highly reccommend!!!

    Wow, just fantastic!

Well, got this to replace a set of BBK shorties that were leaky, and immediately kicked myself for not going with these in the first place. I found the installation was a breeze, but maybe that's because i had done it before. I will say that these were WAY easier to put on than the shorties were. These leave more room at the head to get your hands in there and work the bolts. Additionally, the mid-pipe to header connection is much easier to work with since it's fully under the car, instead of up near the engine like the shorties were. I should add that I lifted the car, removed the starter, steering column, motor mounts, and lifted the engine. It's easier than it sounds, I promise, just follow the instructions they send you. Make sure you get some header gaskets, they aren't included. Some brands will mark the gaskets for a '00-'04 5.4, but they fit our 4.6. Also, you need a pair of 02 sensor extensions if you have an off-road mid-pipe, but you are going to need six extensions if you need to plug sensors into the cats. It's also not a bad idea to extend them yourself, if you know how to use a soldering iron. That'll save you a few bucks. I'll say they really do add power. I feel more all the way through the rpm range, but at about 4k, you'll really start to notice the difference. There's definitely more power than the shorties i replaced. As far as sound, I installed them with a catted H-pipe and have the factory mufflers. With that I gotta say it sounds like the 300hp monster I paid for when I bought the car. It lets out a deep growl with your standard driving, but when you get around 4k (that magic number, it seems) It lets out a nice scream I'm sure you'll enjoy.
