    What's going on, guys? I'm Alex from americanmuscle.com with my quick review of the JMS PedalMAX Drive By Wire Throttle Enhancement Device, fitting your 2005 through 2010 Mustang. So, in this video, I'm gonna give a quick breakdown of what you can expect in terms of performance, what you should expect to be spending. And then last but not least, we're gonna hit the installation, which right off the bat, I'm gonna be giving a very easy 1 out of 3 wrenches on the difficulty meter, and you should have this on your Mustang in about 30 minutes or less. So, if you're the 2005 through 2010 Mustang owner and you're looking to make a great improvement in your Mustang's throttle response, but you're not too into the idea of picking up a custom handheld tune, this is definitely gonna be the product for you. So, the team over at JMS saw a little bit of weak spot in terms of the throttle sensitivity, as well as how well it responds in the '05 through '10 Mustangs, and they thought that this could definitely be improved upon. So, giving you a quick refresh, some of the older Mustangs are gonna be a cable-driven style in comparison to the newer drive by wire system, but still, it's a little bit on the lagging side. So, the guys over at JMS found that the '05 through '10 Mustang, despite having a drive by wire system, still lagged a little bit and was kind of reminiscent of what you might find on either a Fox Body or a New Edge Mustang, which is cable driven. So, the guys over at JMS saw this void and they brought the PedalMAX to market with the Mustang owner in mind that's looking to greatly improve their throttle response, make it that much more crisp, and a little bit more lively. Now, this is not something that's gonna be giving your Mustang horsepower and torque. I definitely wanna get that out there, first and foremost. But, this is gonna be great for the Mustang owner that wants to keep their warranty in check, if you do have an extended warranty on your '05 through '10. So, with the electronic throttle control technology, or drive by wire setup, what you're gonna notice is that there is a huge lag between the point where you put your foot on the gas and when the blade of your throttle body opens up. So, a drive by wire system is gonna monitor the position of the gas pedal in terms of how open or closed your throttle's gonna need to be. So with the JMS PedalMAX, this is going to give you that much more crisp and clear throttle response. So, right out of the box, this is gonna be set at the most aggressive setting, but I do wanna mention that JMS does have a separate controller here which will give you the ability to tailor this to your driving style. So, in terms of the construction and what you're gonna be getting in the kit here, guys, we're gonna see that all their software's gonna be right in this kit right here, as well as coming supplied with an OE style harness, which is going to make the installation virtually painless. So, in terms of the pricing here, you should expect to be spending right around 300 bucks for this kit. And I wanna brutally honest here. I've driven this unit on about three different cars right now, and while it didn't honestly blow my socks off in terms of horsepower and torque, the throttle response was definitely there. So, for the money here, for an extra 100 bucks, I honestly think a full-blown custom tune might be a little bit of a better buy, but if you're an extended warranty owner and you're looking to keep that in check, this is definitely gonna be a perfect option for you. So, again, while this product was brought out for the Mustang owner in mind that's looking to retain their factory warranty, if you still have it, as well as giving you a decent bump in throttle response, if you're gonna be looking for horsepower and torque, I would definitely suggest getting into a custom handheld tuner as, again, the difference in price here is only going to be around 100 bucks, plus it's gonna give you the ability to monitor a bunch of different parameters, as well as clear and scan engine codes. So, taking a quick look at the installation, just like I had said at the beginning of the video, you're gonna be looking at a very easy 1 out of 3 wrenches on the difficulty meter, and about 15 to 30 minutes to get this onto your car. Now, the ease of installation here is definitely gonna be another selling point for me, as there's really no guesswork to this. You are gonna be connecting this, pulling your negative battery terminal off, and then pulling your wire harness out from behind your gas pedal, and then you're good to go. It honestly does not get any easier than that. All right, so just to wrap things up here, some final thoughts. If you're the Mustang owner that's looking to improve your throttle response drastically, but you're not too into the idea of picking up a custom handheld tuner, this is definitely gonna be the option for you, not only based on the fact that this is gonna install in a heartbeat, but it's gonna make your daily commute that much more enjoyable. So, that's my quick review and breakdown of the JMS PedalMAX Drive By Wire Throttle Enhancement Device, fitting your 2005 through 2010 Mustang, available right here at americanmuscle.com.

    Eliminates Pedal Lag. If you have ever made a left turn across oncoming traffic, you have most likely noticed a delay in throttle response that has left you wondering if you are going to make it across with out getting hit. This pedal lag is caused by the drive by wire accelerator found on the 2005-2010 S197 Mustangs. On previous generation Mustangs the gas pedal was connected to a physical cable that ran directly to the throttle body and provided immediate response. However, on modern Mustangs the gas pedal is controlled electronically, like a dimmer switch, which has to send the input signal from the pedal to the ECU, which then sends the signal to the throttle body, causing a momentary delay in response. JMS created their PedalMAX Electronic Throttle Enhancement Device to eliminate this annoying delay and improve your driving experience.

    Eliminates Stalling and Improves Power. The JMS PedalMAX will not only eliminate pedal lag, but it will also enhance throttle response, horse power and torque in the low to mid RPM range. The PedalMAX is also ideal for eliminating stalling when accelerating from a stop in manual equipped Mustangs, a notorious issue for the Shelby GT500's.

    Maximum Throttle Response. Out of the box the PedalMAX Throttle Enhancer is preset to provide maximum increase in throttle response. If you find the stock setting to be to aggressive for your driving needs you can insert the supplied 4-pin RED de-sensitizing plug into the device. The RED de-sensitizing plug will reset throttle response to about 60% of the maximum setting. However, with the optional Remote Throttle Control Knob (part# BX-6999) you can adjust throttle response from zero to maximum or anywhere in between to match your specific driving style.

    Stackable. The JMS PedalMAX can be stacked or used in conjunction with other aftermarket OBD-II programmers and monitors such as: SCT, Diablosport, Hypertech, Superchips, Bully Dog, and Edge as well as JMS' own BoostMAX Performance Booster.

    Modern Electronics. The PedalMAX Drive By Wire Throttle Enhancement Device features JMS's exclusive state of the art digital technology housed in a proprietary sealed enclosure. The PedalMAX comes complete with plug and play wiring harness using OEM connectors for a quick installation.

    Easy Plug & Play Installation. The PedalMAX Throttle Enhancer simply connects to the factory stock pedal position sensor using an OEM style connector with no permanent modifications required. PedalMAX is 100% reversible making it warranty friendly.

    I have a 2007 with full exhaust, including headers, FR cool air intake, 4.10 rear end and it's all tuned with an scc (?) tuner... which I still have. Set to max everything with 93 fuel. All said I'm frustrated with the response and torque down low if just cruising. If I'm shifting manually and revs are up, all is good. It seems like there is a lot of throttle play with this car and then I found this product but it has more see reviews. 1. Can the throttle lag be tuned out with the tuner? 2. If not, what do you know about this product in the real world with my mods etc.

    Hello, from what I read about this (pedalmax) would not useful if you have a custom tune? I have an 06 gt with a ati procharger and a custom tune by a dyno lab. The ati came with the diablo puck and tuner which then the dyno place did a custom tune for max power. I also have msd coil packs and a larger throttle body,full length headers with 3" side pipes from blow by racing. My car is a manual shift and I can't stand the way the car revs up while going in between shifts. What do you recommend?

    Based on what I already read, I just want to clarify that this part isn’t necessary when you have a tuning device, right? Provided that you give the Bama team the proper date log information specific to your vehicle, and time after you request finer tuning and aggressiveness especially on the race tune.

    • If you already have a custom tune on your car the JMS PedalMAX Drive By Wire Throttle Enhancement Device would be redundant as it would also help the throttle control like the tuner.

      Don’t waste your money!

      This product did nothing to my car and if you want a better throttle response, you need to do it through a tune. Simple. American Muscle would not return it because it was installed, so be careful if you buy this and try to return it, you’ll be out $350 as I was.

      WOW!!! Buy it ASAP!!!

      Just get the credit card out and buy it ASAP. I love it and you can tell the second you add it. Get the cable adjustment too. Took me 37 minutes to install it.

      Throttle Enhancement

      Installed 12/14. In Drive you can feel it kick in a little. The enhancement really is felt when manually shifting. The acceleration in 1st at a stop and then shifting to 2nd is when it really kicks in. I would recommend this to all who own a GT - 05 to 09.

      PedalMAX in 2007 GT

      I bought the PedalMAX to install in a 2007 Mustang GT convertible. The only MOD is an Airaid CAI. The 4.6L has plenty of power for me, but I’ve been frustrated by the delayed throttle response. I originally thought there was a problem with the car until I found that this response is normal. I didn’t want to get into the expense of a tuner and didn’t see the need for multiple tunes. Eventually I came across the PedalMAX. It arrived quickly and installed easily. The throttle response is now terrific and significantly improved. It’s almost like driving a whole new car. It doesn’t increase horse power or torque, so it seems a bit pricey, but it’s definitely been worth it to me. Much more fun to drive. Now I’d just like to find out why it was like that in the first place.

      Bring a Ice Cooler!

      My JMS PedalMax Drive by wire throttle enhancement is Perfect....a unique difference! Quick! Paired up with my SR Performance Throttle Body and adding the "Remote Control Knob" and then slam Bam it all together with a "Bama Tune",....well you just might want to bring a bucket of ice to cool that baby off! And if you feel it's a little too quick off the line and a little too responsive, well than just dial things back a little more to your liking!

      JMS PedalMAX install follow up

      So the install was not plug and play according to the instructions. I took off the negative battery cable and installed it. I got the check engine and the wrench (Safe mode). I stepped out of the car with my keys and waited a couple of minutes and continued to have engine light and safe mode. Therefore no throttle response. I had to clear the 2 codes with my scanner, which left the safe mode, I then took out the keys for a couple of minutes, turned my ignition to on 3 times and on the 4th start the car. I then had a clean install and it runs perfect. If my battery goes dead I will have to complete the install process as described again. I also tried to install the Throttle enhancement switch for 0-100 percent, but honestly it never did anything and it threw red lights on the PedalMax.

      Big improvement

      The throttle response is immediate now, no lag. However, The first 3 times I drove the car after sitting for a day or two, I had no throttle at all first starting out. It seems to be working properly this morning.

      Make Driving Fun

      From the moment PedalMax was installed the car instantly became more fun to drive. The instant the gas pedal is stepped on, the car takes off, no more lag time. The car actually feels more powerful and responsive. Install took 20 minutes. Remember to bring the seat all the way back before disconnecting the negative battery terminal.

      JMS Pedel max

      Poorly functioning product. Very unsatisfactory. Didn't really do anything with my throttle response and only a few days later my throttle didn't work at all and I took the device off and my throttle worked again.

      Was not impressed, not a good bang for the buck

      Read the reviews about this product and figured I would give it a try. I have an 08 GT with a lot of bolt ons and a tune and honestly noticed little to no difference at all after installing it. The difference was so minimal I thought maybe something was wrong with it. Installation was a piece of cake. Honestly if I had it to do over again I would pass on this. Way too much money for what it delivers in performance.

      Amazing product

      When I first got it i didn't really think it was going to help all that much but after the plug and play installation it felt like a new car throttle response was quick and clean. Couldn't have done it any better idea recommend this to anyone.

      Improved Throttle

      I was skeptical about ordering at first but went ahead and bought it. Waaaaay glad I did! I run ngk iridium spark plugs and she was kind of sluggish. After installing the JMS PedalMax I noticed a nice smoother idle and a little bit better take off. I run it 100 aggressive, didn't use the 60 chip that comes with it. Loving it!

      Cured skepticism

      My first impression after hearing about the part was NO WAY!...a part like this that doesn't require a tune, it's all hype...Now after buying and installing this JMS, I can honestly say I'm convinced. I know it's pricey but you won't regret it, especially you V6 drivers. This part is a must have!

      The lag is not all gone but I was ok with it until my car wouldn't accelerate and I almost got hit by a truck I kept hitting the gas but nothing would happen so I had to remove it right there in the middle of traffic Now I'm out 290 bucks with a part I'm never going to use again just laying around

      Good Part

      Does what it says it will do. I ordered two of these. One for my 2007 GT manual and another for my girl's 2006 GT Automatic. Both cars the pedal sensitivity is increase substantially. It really does eliminate a lot of the lag you get with these cars when you hit the pedal. On my manual going through the gears you can really feel the car up and take off. The automatic has the same feel. You hit that gas and there is little to no hesitation. The car just wants to go. No lag through the corners. Getting onto the on ramps. All improved. Little pricey for the part but overall I feel it was worth it.
