    • According to maximum motorsports, yes. There's a specific kit for these shocks to convert them to coilovers.

      2001 Mustang GT

I live in San Diego, CA and the roads are horrible. These struts are great for rough roads and having a lowered stang. Handles great!

      Affordable handling

I combined these struts with lowering springs and was amazed at how much smoother the ride was. Even at 140MPH I had control of the car without it tying to get away from me. I recommend getting a strut tower base as well, it will make handling so much better.

      Highly recommended!

Long-term review -- after ~40k miles on an SN95 GT these are still unbeatable! Paired with MM progressive Cobra-like springs (front progressive, 650-750 lb/in, slightly higher rate than the Ford "c" springs and rear progressive 230-290lbs/in) Good firm street ride, and the ability to adjust these is key to dialing in the ride to the correct level of rebound damping. Excellent handling, well balanced, predictable and consistent performance. These keep the wide 275 NT555s firmly on the road. Great quality, and highly recommended for both the street and the track!

A mustang that actually handles well!!

I lowered the car and wanted to install some adjustable sturts with it but when it came time to install them they were too tight where it mounts on the steering knuckle but ride great now.

Shocks and Struts are great, but...

I replaced the OEM Tokicos on my 66,000 mile 04 Mach 1 with these Koni single adjustable shocks and struts in December 2016. The hardware itself is great - what you would expect from a company like Koni. What I didn't expect was an issue with the torque specs in their "instructions"...which are little scraps of paper. I don't really need much in the way of guidance for a shock and strut RNR but, #1. Print your instructions on something a little thicker than tissue paper, and #2. The specified 59 ft-lbs (for the top nut) is too much. At 59 I couldn't adjust one of the struts so I ordered a replacement, installed it, torqued to 59, and again it wouldn't adjust. (I made sure to test this new strut, spinning the adjuster a bit before installing). Finally I asked the shop to loosen it completely, then go to 20 ft-lbs and try to adjust it, then 40, and try, and they ended up at about 49 ft-lbs and it works. Then they brought the other strut down to 49 as well (before it ceases to adjust). So folks, I love the shocks and struts but the specs could use some tweaking.

      Koni sport strut

Great struts replace my strange front struts! These are a way better product ride quality is suberb over them and the top mount adjustable feature is way better than the lower ones so you don't have to climb under your car. All in all easy install great product and will buy again!

The specs on the spindle mounts are so tight (and wrong) that you have to file down the inner strut spindle mount surfaces to get it to slide on to the spindle itself. Shaving some off the spindle helps too. Get a large file set with handle, a chunk of 2x4 and a 4# or 3# persuader hammer before you even start this project. Get them now before you even order them. What should have been fun has become a bit of a chore.

Why would you NOT buy Koni's?

Install is no more difficult than any cheap strut. With the aggressive sale pricing offered by American Muscle, it was a no-brained to choose these "Yellow" adjustable Koni's over any other gas-pressurized front strut. Ride and handling is in another world compared to whatever it was I pulled off of this newly purchased '01 GT. I've used Koni Yellow adjustable's on 3 different vehicles now. Short of a coil-over conversion, there isn't a better riding / handling shock built.

I got these on clearance so for the price I paid the handling gains are amazing. Install was straight forward and the fact that they are adjustable is also handy

Makes the mustang an actual sports car

Improves the handling so much I have no idea why I didn't do it sooner. I have a '03 mustang gt. The only suspension mod I had before these shocks are the sr performance lowering springs. The springs gave the mustang a slightly firmer (barely noticeable) ride. This left the car with a great stance (the way it should have looked from the factory) but the same squishy ride. Wanting a more sporty feel, I decided to buy these shocks. Why I didn't do it sooner is beyond me. It makes the car feel like a sports car. My girl has a Mini Cooper with the sport suspension package and it handles almost as good as that. And thats saying a lot because that thing handles like a go kart. I've left all 4 sides on the softest setting. I haven't tried any other setting because it made my car feel exactly like I wanted it to. Not too firm or soft. Sporty. Perfect. Don't hesitate buying these. You won't regret it one bit. I did also get the maximum motorsports cc plates when I got the springs.

      Yellow Sport Shocks

Ride is a little bumpier than I like. Having said that, I'm not sure there are a lot of aftermarket shocks that will give you that "like new" ride. If you like diving into corners, these are excellent shocks.

I'm very impressed with the ride and the ability to adjust the firmness. If you buy one that's not adjustable, you're stuck with it till next time. No thanks!

      Great Struts!

Made huge difference in ride/handling of my 95 gt. Lowered with 1.5 inch bbks springs all around and these struts are set up perfect for the lowered stance. Bit of money but was a great purchase in the end.

      spend the money for Koni

By far the best set of struts I have had in my daily driven drag ready mustang. Perfect to adjust for driving to the track, and easy to change to a 90/10 when you get there. No more bounce of the line, better reaction times better 60 foot times, all around a great product and worth every penny. If it can keep my 700hp vert planted, it will keep yours to.
