    More Horsepower and Torque. A set of Kooks Long Tube Headers will greatly improve the performance of your modular 4.6L Mustang. Kooks Headers feature an integrated venturi style collector that increases exhaust scavenging, and reduces turbulence to improve your 4.6's exhaust flow over the restrictive factory manifolds, boosting your Pony's horsepower and torque numbers.

    Quality Construction. Kooks Long Tube Exhaust headers are manufactured from 1-5/8" mandrel bent 304 stainless steel tubing for superior airflow. These headers are TIG welded and feature a leak-free ball flange design for optimal performance and a better than OEM fit.

    Natural Finish. These Kooks Headers feature a natural stainless steel finish, which provides an aggressive appearance to your engine bay. This is not a heat-resistant coating, AmericanMuscle recommends the use of Exhaust Heat Wrap for high performance applications.

    Recommended Upgrade. To realize the full power potential that these Long Tube Headers have to offer, AmericanMuscle recommends a custom tune with either a SCT SF3 or Diablosport InTune Custom Tuner.

    Application. These Kooks Long Tube Headers are designed to fit the 2005-2010 4.6L GT and Bullitt Mustangs equipped with a manual transmission. Kooks long tube headers require the use of a Kooks shorty midpipe in order to be installed properly (see drop down option above).

    Technical notes. Not legal for use on pollution controlled motor vehicles; intended for off road use only.

    Is it recommended to use a mini starter in place of a stock starter for clearance/heat tolerance reasons when installing long tube headers?

    • A smaller starter is not required to install these headers. We have not experienced any heat related issues with the starter and these headers however a starter heat shield/blanket could be used to alleviate any potential issues.

    Will these headers fit on 5.2l voodoo heads?

    • These Kooks 1-5/8 in. Long Tube Headers will work with the Voodoo Intake Manifold.

    I have these kooks long tubes with catted kooks xpipe, want to switch to kooks off road h pipe. Do you guys sell a o/r h-pipe to go with these headers?

    • Hey Pete, Unfortunately we do not have a kooks h-pipe to pair with the long tubes and all of our other h-pipes would most likely require modification to properly match.

    Does these headers work with kooks green catted h-pipe offered on your site? About to pull the trigger on it but don't want to make a mistake when paying almost two grand on headers.

    • These Kooks long tube headers will be able to work with the Kooks GREEN catted H-Pipe without problems as they are made to fit together.

    Will I still need the kooks mid pipe if I plan to use the MAC off-road pro chamber mid pipe?

    • The Kooks Long Tube Headers will only work with the Kooks mid pipe, and is not compatible with the Mac Pro chamber.

    Rookie quesion, what is the difference between a off-road x pipe and a catted x pipe? I have a '06 GT with Borla Stinger cat-backs. Right now I'm in Afghanistan, and i wanna know everything about these headers before i put them on my car, so i know im not wasting my money on something that i have to spend an extra arm and a leg on so that everything fits and works right. I just need a little help on this, so anyone willing to put in their 2 cents, it would be much appreciated! 2 answers

      Awesome product

      Glad I spent the extra money to get these. Perfect fit, no problems with the install, and can’t believe what a difference going from factory manifolds to long tubes make! With the catted X pipe and Roush cat back it sounds great!

      Excellent Product

      Got these as part of the Kooks LT headers\Catted X-pipe combo kit to replace the existing stock exhaust system to increase engine performance and prepare for future SC install. Fit and finish was very good, all fit like a glove. The engine performance improvement was very noticeable, especially on the low end but also thru mid range and up. This got even better when stock tune was modified to account for these headers and a KandN CAI. Had these installed by the local Ford dealership as I don't have the necessary jack stand heights to accommodate their install. Outside of install taking too long due to finding missing parts that were supposed to be included w\ the kit...had to work w\ AM to get all this straightened out...all went good as I had the dealership do other work on my car while waiting on the missing parts to arrive. Love it!

      Great sound, involved install

      I purchased the Kooks long tube headers and catted x-pipe along with the Kooks catback exhaust. The setup performs great together. Sound is exactly what I was looking for. Good muscle car rasp but not too loud at idle. The install was a little tougher than I anticipated but was well worth it.

      Did the trick.

      I got the Kooks Lts with high flow cats and xpipe. Install can be intimidating but with some determination and time you will get them in. You can really FEEL the car open up in top end, 2 gear is a new animal. Kooks did a great job putting the Lts together. They fit perfectly! The sound is amazing even with my stock mufflers. I would recommend Kooks to anyone.

      Can't beat quality!!!

      I bought these for my wife's 2007 Foose Stallion. Install was about what you would expect with any modern car on getting to the header bolts but everything fit great with no hang ups. The look on my wife's face when we cranked it up made it worth the extra money you spend for a top brand like Kook's. The sound is absolutely amazing! When driving she gets more looks and even some thumbs up at red lights. We couldn't be happier with Kook's and American Muscle!

      excellent looking headers

      i only gave 3 stars on performance .. i have a whipple 550 kit on my car and i also put kooks off road x pipe... the power gain was noticeable on interstate kicks but not much gain on the bottom end...i believe a bigger throttle body will help... the fit is perfect and the kooks stuff fits better than factory car has a 1.5 lowering kit and the kooks stuff is not gonna drag..the fit against the bottom of the car is perfect...kooks cost a little more but when you install and see how good of fit and quality they are you will be glad you spent the extra cash... you cant go wrong with kooks products...

      THE BEST MOD YET!!!!!

      OMG!!! This is the best mod yet, install these with the Flowmaster Outlaws and you have one "ROARING SOUND". I looked a lot of header options and had a hard time deciding which brand to get, I can honestly say these were definitely the right choice. The fit was absolutely perfect, as long as you follow the directions step-by-step. It took an entire weekend to install, mainly because I don't have a lift. I did it with a floor jack and jack stands. If you own a lift it won't take as long to install. The hardest part of the install are some of the bolts are a bit difficult to access, but worth the aggravation once the project is finished. You'll be extremely excited when you turn that key and start the "ROARING" for the first time after completing the install. Awesome job KOOK and American Muscle.

      fairly difficult to install even for an experienced mechanic due to tight tolerances but well worth the effort. two thumbs up!!!
